Potters win %:
In 120 games at Brighton he won 34 and lost 42, with a 28% winning ratio. At Chelsea it was 32%, with seven wins, while at West Ham he won six games or 26%.
Is he the answer?

Not even almost mate.

No he's not
He hasn't for some reason lived up to his early hype
To be honest seems to have lost his way in the game.
And not sure where he goes from here to start trying to build up his reputation.
Almost feels looking at him he's lost his passion for it?
Definitely not the answer.

Fork, it would be a no from me.
I thought that even before you posted your stats.
TBH, I'm not sure who i want.

Definitely not, a manager on serious decline. Done fantastic with Østersund but done nothing since.

Asa, i thought potter did well with Brighton and thus got the chelsea gig because of it.
28 Sep 2025 10:15:21
What's the question?
28 Sep 2025 10:18:35
No for me mate ?.

A flash in the pan, at a very well run club imo.

SWS De Zerbi showed the world that potter actually did not do as well as first thought.
{Ed001's Note - De Zerbi had strikers, Potter had none until his final few weeks, hard to compare them. Also Potter took over a team sinking down to the Championship and really struggling, De Zerbi took over a midtable team on the up. Not sure how De Zerbi showed anything other than that he is a lunatic that peed off most of the players and drove a number of them to request transfers to get away from his lunacy.}

Think he will have done VERY WELL financially out of his moves. so maybe he's not hurting so much!

If we want to do well in our league i believe Mcinnes or Robinson bring that due to working in the league and understanding Rangers and Scottish football. My only concern might be European football. Either way both i feel would get a tune out of our squad and get us winning.

I stand corrected Edd my friend, I was always told that De Zerbi was well respected and made players better.
{Ed001's Note - a lot of people love him, I have heard him called a genius, but he drove players out at Brighton and the same at Marseille. He is mad, which people sometimes mistake for genius. He rants and raves over nothing. And his tactical set up was falling apart at Brighton - like many other attacking coaches, once the foundation built by a previous organised defensive coach starts to fade, their team starts to get exposed.
Not that I am convinced Potter would be the answer, he is far too sensitive for top level football, which is good for coaching, but not for being in front of house, so to speak. He also needs far too much time for his methods to take effect, as he works a lot on psychology, which takes time. Also, the egos of top players interfere and make it hard for him to get through to them. That's why he was so good at Ostersund, the players bought into his methods and took notice of him. When he was at Chelsea, they were just too arrogant and had no interest in what he had to say. Similar to when Rafa was at Real Madrid and just couldn't get through to the players who thought they already knew it all.}

Thank you for that wonderful insight Edd. I hope potter does find a new role but I actually believe he is better suited to European football than English. I think he would be a great call for the likes of Hertha BSC or a team of that stature.
{Ed001's Note - yeah, depends on the club. He needs a lesser club with players who are willing to listen.}
