Spoke to a friend today who was at the game on Thursday night. Said that he had heard Cavenagh told people at the game that Russell would be staying the full season.
Anyone to confirm or deny this?
I'm really not sure how much worse this has to get for him to pull the trigger.

To be fair to him that would have been one of my main targets for us if I came in, to end the managerial merry go round. It's clear as day doing that is getting us nowhere.
But it's been so bad you have to act on the fly sometimes and do the deed once it becomes inevitable.
I also don't think Martin is solely responsible and getting rid will fix everything. Our whole strategy in summer from Thewell seems flawed and he should be held responsible also.

I said on here after the Motherwell game he'll make it to Christmas. Wish he wouldn't but that's the earliest I believe they will make the decisions.
Hopefully work behind the scenes for a smooth transition as suggested by others just a shame I can't even stand to watch us anymore.

If Martin stays the season then I think we'll be bottom 6 this season. I can't actually see a scenario of where we will put a run of victories together. I don't understand the thought process of keeping the clown in position. I have never hated anyone connected with rangers, but I despise Martin for what he has done to us.

Barry would be a short term fix. Good in the big games, YES, but couldn't beat the low block teams. Although I'd take anybody over Martin right now.

If he stays for the full term he will go down as the worst manager and the worst season in football history, it's bad enough watching the team and fans being demoralised game by game, and gifting Celtic a free pass on the cups and league along with our record trophy haul.
we have another big rebuild to do end of this season of the 8 defenders we currently only 3 will be here end of season, Sterling, Nsiala, Fernandez, rest are either out of contract or returning to their clubs when the loans end, and we will have 1 GK on top of that.
If Martins still around for the remaining Europa Games i fully expect either Porto or Roma both in excellent attacking and defensive form to steamroll us and then some.
well looks like the fans saying the takeover would be the start of new chapter for the club, indeed it is, the club are now heading to the worst downgrade iv'e ever seen, and it's gathering pace, not slowing down.
Going to take losing both cups, the league, bottom of the europa league and massive fan walkout, protests and more to get this cancer removed, until then the rot will only continue, and we will be too far behind to salvage anything worthy, might be lucky enough if we get enough draws to salvage a place in the conference league qualifiers.

There's no way we can just continue to keep him regardless of how bad it gets. We will genuinely struggle to catch Hearts (12 points and 9 goals better off than us currently ) if this keeps up.

Worth remembering that the Sheep started strongly last season just as Hearts have this year. We need to start putting a run of wins together, just not sure we can do it under Martin. If we change now it's not too late.

It's actually laughable that some are saying how we won't finish in the top 6 yet if we win our next game against Falkirk we could go third, crazy - it's a long season and history has shown even last year we were really poor and so far behind Aberdeen yet finished miles in front of them!
