From what I've heard,
- big focus is on moving players on, currently looking at potentially another 8 leaving the club.
- 2 key targets have been identified and work is ongoing, said to be high calibre, compared to when we were pushing for Doekhi and Veerman.
- A number of ooc players have been identified and some initial offers made. Will only be brought in this window if outgoing transfers are complete or priority targets fall through.

That's good to hear EHL, we really need to start getting rid of the players who contribute very little and are on silly wages.
EHL are things looking more like we are trying as a club to have a philosophy on playing style etc and that it will be Koppen bringing guys in to fit this?
Really makes sense that we have that identity as a club and then any future players/ managers would be brought in to coincide with this rather than the helter skelter style have been using.

Clement isn't going anywhere. In his head he's fully committed to not just getting us a title but building the groundwork to become the dominant force again. He's willing to destroy his reputation because the potential of the "story" as he describes it is huge.

SG had his style and wanted the academy to follow it, GVB was the same and so was MB.
Koppen and PC have a different approach, they want players to be coached to be adaptable in 2/ 3 positions and for the various squads to have the fluidity to move between variations of 4-3-3 and 3-4-3.
This way, regardless of the preferences of the first team coach, our youth teams will have their own blueprint that is adaptable.

If we can get Kent for free then its a no brainer, he is a player that celtic quite simply cannot deal with in his best form, Clement wanted him before Gerrard brought him to Rangers.
20k a week and a 3 yr contract makes sense, we do not have a LW at the club that is anywhere near his skill level,
the fact teams need to put 3 players on him speaks volumes.
He was on 55k a week at Fenerbahce and only signed for them because Lazio pulled out of the deal at the last moment, he started off well, then they Tadic on a free from AJAX of course any team would play Tadic over Kent he has a proven record at virtually every club he has played at and is far more experienced than Kent, they also Have Maxixmim so they are well covered for Quality experienced LWs, easy to see why they ripped up his contract because they don't need 3 LWs and they save a fortune on wages on a player they are not going to use regularly, have we not just done the same with several players who were on wages that did not justify their performances.
He is an inverted winger which Clements system uses, a right footed left winger, so it's clearly on.
If he is the one that unlocks Celtic defence in the old firm game and we win and go top on points, all the folk on here greeting about Kent will be putting their I love Ryan Kent posters back up lmfao

My star say we pay £2M for him as it is cheaper than Bajrami, Matondo and Cortes and he agrees to play for £20k per week as he has realised after Turkey how much he was loved at Rangers and that he should have stayed. Easy way to afford Kent, sell Matondo like we should have done in the summer, fee in and big wage saved then send Cerny back to let his career waste away in Germany, lacks heart and bottle, another wage saved.

I reckon that we will see a few more leave in January assuming that we can secure a fee for them and I would include Matondo in that. I have also heard that Clement wants Kent back, whether this is fact or fiction I don't know.
What I do know is that we are hanging our youngsters out to dry and will destroy the careers of potentially good young players if we don't bring in some quality 'elder statesmen' to help them and to arrest the malaise that has set in.
Whether we like to admit it or not, Tav is done, but moving him up the park and dropping a youngster in at the deepens is not the answer. Midfield is the same, some young players with real potential but no proven winner in midfield for the youngsters to look up to and learn from, and the less I say about our attack and wing positions the better.
We need to bring in some quality, easier said than done, I know, and I would like to see us appoint a couple of credible coaches that know the game. Defoe would be one of them if we could get him and I would like to see us replace Alex Rae since personally I struggle to see what he brings to the coaching side although I am sure that someone will enlighten me!
It could all become academic of course should we lose to Aberdeen and start to tumble down the league between now and Christmas, all of which is worryingly, quite possible.

I see a few posters bringing up the Mayo deal as of it was terrible business by Rangers.
He wasn't ready to start for us and if he'd stayed to be back up his development would have stagnated.
The loan move to Killie was good for him, as was the permanent move and having a buy back option is sensible for all.
I hope he progresses again this year and gets to a level where we resign him - I don't that will happen though.

GRF, the other mob didn`t pay millions for Greg Taylor, I think the fee was few hundred thousand . Basically he was a wee guy that didn`t make it out of our youth team and unlike Mayo never got anywhere near the first team. A lot of youngsters from the Academy don`t make it but there are one or two who manage to develop at another club . He was on of those . If you are wanting to type out yet another negative comment about the team you support at least get your facts right.

Another Midfielder and CB but then I don’t know if we have enough money for what I’d like. I like the players on John227 list Barron is the no brainier but the little I’ve seen of Galdames of Rrahmani I’ve seen something our squad doesn’t currently have. Although I was a little worried that if Galdames has a good Copa America we will have maybe a bit of competition.

What often happens is when for whatever reason players are not producing goods, that makes the manager look ineffective and no matter what he does, it doesn’t change what is happening on pitch . This is happening all too often this season. When a manager is new, making a couple of player changes seems to lift every one and they react well . Big Dave has to get things to happen soon or else he will be out.

I for one have no faith in Clement any more. Style of football is dreadful, recruitment has been shambolic, when we try and make heroes of bang average players like Connor Barron and John Souttar (to name but two) we are in serious trouble! The club is going backwards at an alarming rate and I just can't see how we get out of it!
Sacking Clement is going to cost around 9M. Can we afford to sack him? Can we afford not to? Who would we get in? Who would take the job. Whoever did take it would want his own players, another rebuild! I honoustly have no idea how we move forward! More questions than answers.

do the players not need to take some respnsibility here. Never played anywhere near this level but had some clueless managers in my time. The players rallied round and tried even harder to make up for the managers inadequacies. there is no effort here I can see to compete. Being realistic I thought at Elats until NY we would scramble victories with a few bumps in the road and this may just be one. I thought qaulity of performance would take longer but the scrambled victories would give confidence to the team. Personally I think he needs at least the season to have a chance of success but doubt he will get it. Nothing to do with cash as it will be found if a board think that their own positions are at threat.
OWS I think we need to have a team who gets around Dessers and support him. The ball bounces off Vassel but Killie had players around him to get the second ball. Our nearest player is 20-30feet away. Dessers has his limitations I know but he isn't entirely to blame for this.

We don't have the players to play 4-2-3-1 besides which we should be more attack minded when playing teams who sit in. Couldn't believe how dreadful we were today. The system wasn't working so, instead of going two up front, we move Tavernier up the park and leave Bajrami out wide when there was nothing happening out wide all game. No urgency today and couldn't believe how long it took PC to make substitutions. Barron, Propper and Lawrence were terrible today, yet stayed on for over an hour. Dessers was also poor today although he'd no service. We've scored ONE GOAL away in four league games which is grim.

King is all publicity trying to get public support behind him . He has more love of his own success than he has for the success of our club. We have to be very careful with King because if he regains power he will put Rangers at risk, anything to get back his investment. D K is too big a risk taker and if he is in a position of power he could risk our club’s future . Gillian and the other Directors are a safe bet.

I would hope there is some news of recruits, my personal opinion is we should be going for more closer to home than foreign unknowns McCowan, Miller or the likes. Barron has been our best signing so why not follow that train of thought. we need players who can play in this league and can run the legs off of the opposition.

Someone posted earlier that Koppen was meant to be a magician with transfers, this is probably been a very difficult window as he can’t bring in players without players going out, that must be hard to negotiate with clubs, players and agents as a lot of work goes into securing a player, need to give the guy time and remember like previous football directors he dosent have a decent transfer kitty.

Samoforange2, well the reason that's worked for that mob is their recruitment team is miles ahead of us, went can't keep doing what we do and sign players like lammers, etc when home grown talent is there.
I also disagree with the mid tier comment sign players that may not be our level at first and bring them up to our level by playing with better players. How many said ferguson wasnt our level now he is doing great in italy, our recruitment strategy over the last 12 years has been mainly poor so we need something to change.
