My last post was taken out of context.

Yes we all do a little cheerleading on here and that is perfectly normal and acceptable.

My point was if any of the options I have advocated rejected us twice I would never advocate them for the job again.

My question was those advocating Gerrard 4 months after he rejected us would they do the same as me.

Stig you asked about my opinion of Andrew and Paraag.

Both are very astute businessmen and my opinion would not change on that.
It may come as a surprise but not all businessmen agree on what they determine to be the right course of action.

I hope that offers clarity.

Asa, we're all looking for some positivity, and everyone wants to see Rangers succeed after what's been a disastrous start to the season.

Right now, the idea of Gerrard returning feels like a move in the right direction to some of us, if he's appointed, and that's still a big if.

But let me ask you this in return,
You've always spoken highly of Paraag and Andrew, calling them astute businessmen that you respect.

So, if they believe Gerrard is the right appointment to take the club forward…

1. Will your view of them change?

2. Will they still be "astute businessmen" in your eyes?

3. Will they still be good for the club?

Because from what you've said, it sounds like you'd be very disappointed in both of them if they chose Gerrard and if that's the case, are you saying you wouldn't support them as strongly anymore?

Did Thelwell not say Martin was the standout candidate? If so how did Gerrard have the opportunity to turn us down 4 months ago? I don't believe he was offered the job 4 months ago, therefore hasn't turned us down.

Asa, you also said Stewart and the other mug were astute as well if I remember, correctly.

A post may become more desirable if certain barriers are removed, family and financial circumstances change. Timing is also a factor so Asa, I wouldn't reject Stevie G.

Sorry Ed

If you can delete my last reply to this post
Hadn't noticed Asa answer to my question in his previous thread

But please add this for me,

I hope this brings some clarity.
No one here is acting as a cheerleader for Gerrard. Based on the names that have been mentioned or possibly approached, Gerrard might simply be the best candidate available at this moment in time, Asa.

That said, it could just as easily end up being Rohl no one knows for sure.

At the end of the day, it's not the fans making the decision. If it were, we'd probably have a dozen different managers lined up by now!

That's why the responsibility lies with the people who matter Andrew and Paraag.
They're the current custodians of the club, and ultimately, they'll be judged on how well they perform their duties in taking care of it.

{Ed001's Note - I am on my phone mate, I can't do much while just checking when we have stopped for a coffee.}

Without being in the know I don't understand the Gerrard rejected us in the summer, narrative . Was he part of the three that were interviewed before being pushed aside to let Martin in at the last minute? Was he successful in that process but then said no, which allowed Martin to get the job or was he just sounded out and said that he was not interested at that time . He had just left Saudi and personal circumstances can change in 6 months . Maybe he just cares enough about the club to want to sort out the mess we are in now. I have no idea, but I find all these stories contradict themselves.

Asa it seems like u have a problem with Stevie G, and that's fair enough. As a fan u are entitled to them thoughts and opinions. It did come across as a dig to people who don't share the same opinion of Gerrard as u do. For what it's worth I'm opened minded on who we get.

08 Oct 2025 13:13:00
Thestig, not all Rangers fans agree with that though. Not all Rangers fans want SG. Your post is like you are talking for all Rangers fans.

08 Oct 2025 13:13:30
Correct SWM some can't seen Yggdrasil wood for the trees.

08 Oct 2025 13:27:31
Asa any of the options you advocate on here would need to be asked first before they could reject us. Maybe the fact they aren't being asked should tell you something.

08 Oct 2025 13:46:53
JFM what should that tell me?

08 Oct 2025 13:58:53
Asa we are just looking at the here and now pal, the position we find ourselves in. I was against Gerrard in the summer, but the way things are, we can't afford another gamble, we know what we get with sg. His players were fitter, well drilled and organised, and they knew better not to give less than 100%.

One example off the top of my head is the improvements to Ryan Jack during his time in the job. Alfredo Morelos was his main striker and wasn't starved of service. If mijovski or even the boy Chermiti played in that team their numbers would be better, just my opinion obv, but i think they would.

For me personally, i will be happy if he comes back but i also wouldn't mind 3 or 4 of the others, that includes rose and Bilic. It just seems right for a lot of people in this moment, and the media noise deafening so its looking likely, but it could break down and we move in, who knows. i'm just hoping the players get a bounce from a new man coming in and reconnect with the fans, those players ate better than what we've seen and are probably more relieved than any of us.

Storm, think you should re-read my post.

What did I state that makes you think I'm talking on behalf of all Rangers fans?
I'm at loss. if you can be clear on what you mean?

08 Oct 2025 14:37:52
Asathor, maybe not interested?

08 Oct 2025 14:42:04
Imo, it should tell you that just because you hold them in high regard, the club don't as they don't approach them. Please don't take everything posted as personal, Asa. It's an opinions site after all. Maybe you need to look further afield than Norway and Germany for those you advocate.

08 Oct 2025 14:49:10
Yup we know what we get, a manager who did nothing before coming to rangers, who took 3 years to win a trophy and bust our budget whilst winning during covid with no fans and a week Celtic team to leaving us not even half way into a season to be nearer to his family, to a manager who has done nothing since leaving rangers.

But wait he stopped 10 in a row, knows what is needed for Rangers and wore a suit and tie.

I get it we are all pissed off with the RM failure but how many would have taken SG as first candidate before the summer buy out. some yes but don't think he as many as want him now. which means as fans we have lowered our expectations.

08 Oct 2025 14:54:13
Stig I've re read your post and you clearly say some of us. At no point do I see anything suggesting you are talking on behalf of all fans.

08 Oct 2025 14:56:33
JFM considering my manager is from Iceland and last managed in Belgium I cast myself further than has been cast by others.

Shopping in England only by the looks of it.

08 Oct 2025 15:12:39
Not me Asa I have never said i want SG.
Im not talking about Braan Asa, i'm talking about those you recommend for Rangers.

08 Oct 2025 15:24:22
Sorry Brann. Excuse the spelling error.
My choice before PC, before RM and now is Kevin Muscat. Currently managing in China.
