So, thelwell has met with Dyche regarding the role.
While I wouldn't be against Dyche I think it would stink of Thelwell and his buddies again.
If they appoint Dyche and 1 or 2 bad results is going to be toxic due to the pals act and Everton connection
Stevie G sending mixed signals to the board.

Martin the best Thewells worked with ? why would we be after Dyche? I'll be gutted if it's him! I'll back him and hope I'm wrong but this is against everything the "leadership group" said we were after philosophy wise. Makes no sense to me.

He sacked him at Everton not that matters as it could have been outwith his control as if it was up to him we would still have Martin in charge IMO.

Stevie I posted something similar regarding thelwell going for dyche, it just stinks of jobs for the boys. He's hiding behind the 'what I know' line again if it happens. What thelwell knows is failure he was partly responsible for blowing millions at Everton and nearly getting them relegated. For me thelwell is showing a lot of weakness in his appointments so far by surrounding himself with his son and yes men. In my opinion it shows a real lack of strength and leadership and does not put the interests of the club first.

Amazing what a few good results can do for a managers reputation. When we were looking for a manager to replace Clements nobody wanted McInnes. Now he's one of the fans favorites.

Don't want Dyche but it would hardly be an old pals act. Thelwell fired him at Everton.
07 Oct 2025 12:37:36
Surely they'd give Dyche a little time Stevie, wouldn't be my first choice but he'd have us organised and win games, this revolving door with no success needs to stop mate, patience is required.

Dyche will be a huge mistake imo, this reeks of desperation. I've said it once I'll say it again Dyche keeps teams from being relegated, not winning cups/ titles. Ppl saying we will be hard to beat, granted that's something you want your team to be, but you also need to win games, something his teams aren't very good at, at all. Rm came up here with a 30 odd % win rate and people were fuming he even got interviewed, dyche has exactly same win % and don't think he's won silverware his whole managerial career. I'm absolutely baffled by this, if true. I'll always get behind any manager and give them a chance, but it will never work IMHO.

I think the big problem with Dyche would be that he would be seen as Thelwells man, not a good thing for our new manager however rather than just pointing out problems I like to offer solutions.
Sack Thelwell and then appoint Dyche, its a win win, we get a decent manager with no baggage and we get rid of a Sporting Director who sees the club as a rest home for his friends and family.

Don't think anyone wants Dyche, but the next man needs time, hopefully he doesn't lose in his first games or that'll be that.
07 Oct 2025 13:29:06
Please, please. No to Dyche - Old pals act is wearing thin.
07 Oct 2025 13:31:08
IMO, Dyche is a bald headed version of Martin.
07 Oct 2025 13:49:49
Sorry in no other sphere do you re-hire someone you had to sack due to poor performance. If he does not see the issue shouldn't be our DOF. In fact if I was his boss, I'd be very wary if he suggested it. " Martin was one of the best and so is Sam" Aye I know crap data and used to middle to bottom clubs but eh, it's a I know. ??.
07 Oct 2025 13:56:46
Why on earth would he hire Dyche? The man was going to get Everton relegated and played some of the worst football I've seen them play in ages.
Also don't forget we have been told that we want to play a certain brand of football and signed players for this style but then we hire Dyche who wouldn't play this way. That would be one hell of a contradiction wouldn't it.
07 Oct 2025 14:01:19
Bb4 that's only because he hasn't been giving a big job so you never know and he won the championship with over 100 points so not entirely true what you say.
07 Oct 2025 14:33:04
Mark, don't get your comments at all. Martin was this guy with one philosophy, tikka tikka football regardless of his players abilities. Dyche is old school pragmatist, trying to find a way to win. Not sure Dyche is the answer, McInnes gets my vote but doubt if he'd leave hearts.

Lanzarote, both play a poor style of football.
That was my comparison.
07 Oct 2025 15:18:04
Reports saying it's not going to be Dyche - need to wait and see.
07 Oct 2025 15:19:22
I think it is going to be Danny Rohl my friend.
I would be 100x more happy with Gerrard than Dyche.
His football is horrendous.
