The most depressing thing about all of this manager debate is it is a carbon copy of the discussions leading up to the RM appointment.
Irrespective of you're fir SG or agin SG we are all having the same argument just in a different order.
My take is we need a reset build as a club and build a structure that's fit for the future. Football is not the same beast as it was 20/ 15/ 10 years ago.
We need a structure that allows us to develop our own while supplementing them others made up of imported project and experienced types.
This takes a specific skill set from those involved. That's why I thought the emphasis would've on a candidate with excellent coaching experience.
Never mind if you're British or not it's about your credential . too much reference to British only by some on here.
For that reason I thought candidates would show that coaching experience but all we seem to have done is go back to the candidate list we had before RM.
So are we saying we changed the goal posts and RM got the job without ticking these
Boxes or are we now looking at the same people who were not deemed less suitable than RM?
I really don't get the path we're about to go down and fear we'll be here in 12 months about to have the same arguments.

Broste I agree with a lot of what you are saying in regards to the structure. We do need to improve ours. It bugs me players like Moore getting game time over young Curtis who we should be developing as he is our own. Whoever comes in will hopefully improve that.
Now cheer up and get yer Gerrard cardboard cut out back out yer cupboard ??.

It's a good point B64, all of the names being mentioned were on the list pre Martin and for whatever reason were not deemed good enough! Would have thought a different list of names this time, BUT hey ho!

I'm thinking the same buddy, I thought the club had a system in place before R. Martin whether it was analytics or not plus taken months with due diligence to find the correct candidate.
We then appointment R. Martin, which I thought was the wrong candidate at the time, so was this the only coach we could get at this time? D. Rohl was employed, S. Gerrard alledgely knocked us back and any other probably wanted too much salary.
Just hope this time the 49ers get it right especially as we can't blame P. Stewart or K. Thelwell.

Asathor said in an earlier post that Gerrard knocked back gers 4 months ago. How do you know this?

Guys who actually knows what?! one of the ITK guys on here probably does but he won't comment due to being close to someone involved, everything's went mental on SG since the interview with Ferdinand, not doubting SG will be spoken to, but some saying he'll be appointed Friday think were all clambering.
i'm hoping for someone else SG was good back then but we shouldn't be looking back think theirs better managers out there! just hope our board can appoint one of them!

The problem with a reset or rebuild and structural change is that, that normal takes years to do and to become successful at.
Rangers and there fan base do not have that time, otherwise Martin would still be here and wouldn't need police escorts.

Because it was widely reported in the media at the time?.
