Rumours are if we want Gerrard back he wants same control as last time. Back up goes the wage bill and win bonus structure then.
Think we leave Gerrard with the memory he gave us let's not ruin that.
Muscat for me.

Did gerrard decide player wages?

07 Oct 2025 22:58:07
If it is Gerrard I will obviously give him my full backing, but I hope he is fully aware that the club has a wage structure in place and we don't have millions to spend like in the Premiership.

07 Oct 2025 23:00:27
Not sure was SG brokering player salaries.

07 Oct 2025 23:05:08
Muscat is another unknown. Check his record the last time he managed in Europe… it's not good… should have backed Gerrard at the time. however, there was clearly a financial issue….

Falkirk could win the chinese league, so muscats a no from me.

08 Oct 2025 06:19:19
Laudrup that's utter nonsense Falkirk would not win the Chinese league.

08 Oct 2025 06:32:36
Bringing in players that Gerrard wanted meant higher wages it also was win bonus driven which cost us.

My problem with the new ownership and lurching to higher wages is that the new owners aren't soaking that up it's debt against the club if we don't make money.

Harhun, Sint-Truidense are the Belgian equivalent of St Johnstone. They aren't exactly an amazing team. Also, are you aware that the season that Muscat joined Sint-Truidense, the club had sold several key players from the season prior and failed to replace them? It was also only his second managerial appointment. He has learned a lot since then.
People keep mentioning his short stint in Belgium without understanding any of the context around it.

Ridiculous statements RE Muscat, he's won leagues on basically the same path as Ange which would suggest his style would d**k Scottish football but struggle a bit in Europe, I'd take that to get some league titles back where they belong.

08 Oct 2025 07:14:09
Lads come on get a grip of yourselves as this is getting silly now.

Gerrard wasn't the one giving inflated wages, he did however cost us in player sales.

Falkirk would win the Chinese super league would they? Another ignorant quote from someone who has no idea and wants to belittle someone's achievements.

08 Oct 2025 07:35:40
Chermiti on over £30k a week, how high can it go under SG?

08 Oct 2025 07:41:36
Forza, if Ange's style struggles a bit in Europe, how did he manage to win the Europa League? For someone starting a post calling someone else's post 'ridiculous', what would you call that of your own?

08 Oct 2025 08:06:41
SG caused the financial issue, over inflated salaries for the players he wanted, not releasing players when stock was high.

08 Oct 2025 08:26:17
Storm is quite correct, Falkirk don't play in the Chinese league so they are unlikely to challenge, let alone win it ??.

08 Oct 2025 09:06:58
I've never watched the Chinese league either and also absolutely know nothing about it but I think Albion rovers could be championioneees no bother.

08 Oct 2025 11:41:43
Ross Wilson ruined us with wages. Not Gerrard.

08 Oct 2025 11:47:22
Honestly Falkirk if put in that league would have shot it's like the spl but take hearts hibs Rangers Celtic and Aberdeen out it first there is no quality teams in the Chinese super league.

08 Oct 2025 11:51:25
Falkirk would not win the Chinese league that's just an ignorant thing to say. Anyone who wins a league title or multiple in any country that deserves respect i can't believe people iwould mock that.

08 Oct 2025 12:09:48
DRae see bazbears response as that counts for them as well

Sg 100% caused the financial problems at Rangers he wanted to give players new contracts and it was over inflated if you think he never had a say you are all delusional.

08 Oct 2025 12:16:20
If it is Muscat he'll have my backing, feel the same as a good few, nothing he's has done as manager jumps out at me.

08 oct 2025 12:24:15
Questioning Gerrard on his involvement with wages, when we should be investigating Thelwell for hiring his son, Chermiti deal and his involvement.

08 Oct 2025 13:03:33
As I said before high wages and wasted fees for the likes of Davies, Matondo, Yilmaz, Lawrence, Dowell, Sterling and co. were not driven by Gerrard, and even Goldsons big pay rise came after Gerrard had left . These are the guys who sucked money out the club and couldn't be sold because of their wages.
If Gerrards teams wages were high because of bonuses, at least they were earning them on the field not getting them for lying on the treatment table or while on loan at other clubs.
