We aren't going to sell Tav it seems, so we won't be able to buy or replace him this season (other than Aarons) . so there is opinion that he shouldn't be near first team again and is responsible for all our past and current ailments. so a question based on that: if Aarons was to get injured or to have a drop in form who would people play in his place?

Of course he is going to play as arrons won't play every game. Arrons was injured last night hopefully not to bad.
Tav ain't blamed for everything but he has stayed for too long and should have been away 2 seasons ago. He is getting worse year on year and for me he should never have been captain but that's just my opinion.

Tav will play in and around the first team this year. I'd expect him to fairly equally share duties with Aarons at RB. He still offers us good use of the ball going forward and has historically been somewhat maligned defensively and remains one of the top 2/ 3 right backs in the league. He'll get his testimonial then away at the end of he season I think.

For me Tav is a better player than Aaron's because his numbers are better and there's not much between them other than that.

Tavs contract due to expire end of this season so this will be his last I'm sure. Testimonial next year.

Think Sterling will be back in a couple of months, seemingly it was meant to be next year after operation, he was in a fancy running machine in Dubai that takes his body weight, costing something like 60k, I'm thinking it would be a very good piece of equipment for purchasing.

Tav has been at Ibrox for 10 Years - Yes 10 Years! A great servant and has given us all many great days/ nights but it must be plain to see that like all of us time catches up - he is a yard slow and was never a great defender but his goals/ assists and forays up the park made up for that but now he goes up and is slow getting back - FGS we will never get better or move on if he stays so imho thx for the well paid memories but its time for a new chapter for club and player - if he stays he should be a bit player (no more) and if he doesn't like that because its beneath him then we all know what's needed?.

I'd play Tav as back up Right Winger if Antman is injured (God forbid), think he'd be a better option than Dowell. I said a long time ago, we should've done what Redknapp did with Gareth Bale and gone he's good going forward but lacking defensively so move him up. not that i'm comparing Tav to Bale btw.

Always been a big supporter of Tav and argued his case but finding that very difficult to do now. Actually quite excited about the RM era and feel like the squad will be in great shape come the end of the window but all enthusiasm is sucked out of me watching and listening to our 'captain'. IMO he's exactly what RM was referring to when he talked about egos and strolling about doing what they want!
You seen as soon as he came on we looked a mess in that area and standards actually dropped. He is so sloppy with passes and his touch, often just kicking it out of play or to the opposition. He looked like he'd already played 90 minutes when he came on and dare I say it, he looks like he doesn't care anymore. Just strolls about with zero effort. He looks finished.
That interview after Motherwell was just a joke.
He should have came on that pitch last night fired up, shouting, encouraging and leading by example to get us up the pitch and protect or add to what we had.
Nothing inspiring about him and he has zero leadership qualities, often relying on his performances and work rate in the past to set the example but that's not the case anymore. With so many young players we need leaders now more than ever in that dressing room and certainly wearing the armband!
I honestly think the best thing for this team and our season would be to move him on now! He's not driving standards or ripping into anyone to show them what Rangers is about if they aren't giving their all. He looks done and sounds defeated. Can't have that about when we're trying to change the mentality of the club and stomp out the drop in standards and failures of the last 5 years!

Angus he doesn't get blamed for everything, many players got slaughtered last year, even dessers that scored 25 goals. The thing with tav is he's 100% over stayed his welcome as storm says he's been going back the way past 2-3 seasons.
His face and captaincy is associated with failure, but not just him all players need to be held accountable, but most are gone and the rest that are here don't have the captaincy role and don't get paid half of what he gets paid. We as fans have a right to be peed off that the captain and highest earner has been going backwards for years .
I'll always appreciate what he's done but it's was over a long time ago mate lbh. No a wouldn't want him as back up either he's a liability imo.

Sorry wasn't meant to be an opportunity for those who don't like him to give him an extra kick or for those who like him to bak him. Just a simple which player question: so accepting he isn't starting and isn't getting sold who do you play ahead of him as back up . giving the players we have available to play ATM.

If we'd managed our recruitment properly it wouldn't have got to this, it's about upgrading at the right time. Tav's been great for us but should have been sold 3 seasons ago.
