Only three points better off than this point last year. No nice holiday for them this year to lose komentum. Two years doing fantastic before the winter break, then coming back, losing focus, feeling the pressure and eventually winning nothing. This year the team looks much different. Tav seems to be turning into the guy he always should have been. The defence is doing great and our attacking play is fantastic. Staying in Scotland over Christmas is the best idea. Once we win the league, the cup and reach the last 8 in Europe, then they deserve a holiday. 1 day closer. 55.

Totally agree with all of that. We need to keep the heid and focus on winning each league game as it comes and we will be fine. Let them take all the pressure trying to catch up.

What a prime position we have got ourselves into. The lads are playing above and beyond. The current rotation is working and keeping players fresh whilst giving others game time and rest when required.
The professionalism off the park has returned and I know feel the Gentlemen factor and respectful order has been restored to the board.
Itโs always magic being a bear but itโs becoming more and more magical.
We are no longer push overs in certain areas and teams do not look comfortable with our intensity and tenaciousness to win the ball back. Keep on going Bears.

Talking about the still fantastic jermain defoe earlier, do we think/ want jermain defoe
to get a new contract at rangers ๐คI most certainly want defoe to remain at ibrox within our squad! So this is very easy for me,
as i think/ want defoe to get a new 1 year deal at rangers beyond this season ๐I most definitely think he will and deserves to IMO ๐.

Nope coops, unfortunately not. We need to move away from the veterans on part times. Davis mcgregor and defoe on top bracket wages isn't the model we should be following. If they get new deals it would have to be on vastly reduced terms.

I agree with the wages side of things you're quite rightly stating guys, but i also think its important at this stage for the squad that all 3 still quality players get at least another 1 year deal each ๐คI honestly don't think mcgregor, davis and defoe will be too hard to deal with regarding reduced wages! All 3 still contributing and still make the difference in games ๐.

All 3 deserve a new contract.
McGregor is still our best goalkeeper.
Davis is still one of our best midfielders, just behind Kamara in my opinion.
Defoe is still the best finisher we have. He won't play as many games as the other 2, but what a player to bring on from the bench.

I see that this Wilshere wants to go to Rangers story is still doing the rounds. While I have no doubt that he is a good skillful player. He has been extremely injury prone throughout his career. At the end of the day who would he replace in our midfield. I doubt very much if he could, or would, replace any of our current midfielders.

Hes not fit enough to play in our system anyway, all of our midfield biys are fit as fiddles to suit our pressing game, just don't see wilshere fitting into that.

Difficult string of games 8n New Year when they have a lot of games at home, but if we keep doing what we are doing till Kanuary I can see a bigger gap emerging before the next old firm game.

I personally feel that Alfie has shown how good a footballer he is in this deeper role. He's grumpy looking because he's not scoring the goals these days, but just look at Firmino at Liverpool, he scored last night for the first time in a while, but his overall play has been terrific for the team during the barren spell, come on Alfie, we all love you mate, get the chin up.

This season we have started to look assured and confident. Not much fazes our play whereas last season we were always susceptible to lose a goal after going up.
Defense are watertight but it is the midfield cover that has improved - everyone knows their role and interchange/ slot in where needed.
Going forward we don't panic, we wait until we have created the right opportunity by moving defenders and creating holes.
It's ours to lose now.

Play to the level we are capable of and we will win, but lower our standards and take the foot off because of the sheeos perceived weekened squad and we could end up giving them across the city a glimmer of hope by dropping points too. Another big game today, they just keep coming.
Rangers will be the better team today, but that doesn't guarantee 3 points.
We seem to dominate most games, but I feel we don't get the goals our play deserves.
Aberdeen will fight for every ball and never stop trying, they are physical and don't hold back when tackling.
A win for us today and no long term injuries is a must and keep the pressure on Celtic.

Todays game is more about discipline than anything else. These games are traditionally powder kegs at the best of times but the sheep will be fighting for every ball more so today with their "weekend" side. We are a better team than them so level heads all round and we win.

I'm not disputing that for a minute Sweep, so I'll phrase it another way. Who might not play today but might do against Benfica, assuming Gerrard will know the tactics and want to field his strongest team today? Of the midfield, who will play from Davis, Arfield, Kamara, Hagi, Jack, Aribo and Zungu and up-front from Kent, Morelos, Roofe, Itten and Defoe? Big decisions to be made. The defence really picks itself. I'd go: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Barisic; Arfield, Kamara, Jack, Aribo; Morelos, Kent. Having players like Helander, Bassey, Roofe, Itten, Defoe and Davis not only on the bench but able to step in play against Benfica is terrific and shows the real strength of the squad.
