I'll share this comment made by a celtic supporter at work yesterday. Some fellow rangers fans were talking about how we wished we had someone with the ability of now retired steven davis, at our disposal, for this old firm game on saturday ?One of the celtic supporters piped up, he wasn't as good as cal mac ? Although i rate callum mcgregor as a very good midfielder, he isn't as good as what steven davis was, not on your nelly i told him ? What's your thoughts on this one guys ?.

Mcgregor hasn't got the capability as a footballer like Davis, good player nothing better than good, he could have improved as player a good few years ago but didn't want tested against the best.

I’ve had similar conversations with Celtic supporter friends and like you Callum McGregor is a decent midfielder but nowhere near Davies I killed the conversation by stating that Davis has played in the Premiership with 3 different clubs while McGregor like his pal brown have hidden in the SPFL all there careers.

Does anyone really know who McGregor is outside of Scotland, people certainly know who Davis is.
As for the current line ups, I would say that if our midfield gets in amongst theirs and doesn't let them settle, they won't like it. We need to make it a war out there! No quarter given, must have a winning mindset and understand that winning is everything.
I actually think that we have the players in midfield to compete. My bigger worry is our defence and our attack.
