Newcastle United v Liverpool - A Liverpool Perspective

05 May 2019 21:49:22
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Newcastle United v Liverpool - A Liverpool Perspective

05 May 2019 20:50:09
Heard big Mutton on radio asked what drives you to despair with football and who was the most over and underrated players he played with
What drives him to despair? the fact rangers won't do guard of honour next week what a tool he is.

06 May 2019 08:59:40
He's at the wind up. Can you imagine the reaction from the fans? Wouldn't be allowed by the police.

05 May 2019 20:39:16
WTF does Steven Gerrard have to do to rid our team of these mindless red cards? MacGregor was a hero one second and then a fu#king idiot the next. He should be ashamed of him self. If your going to do that then do it at another club that's what i say.
On another note, i thought davis was pure class today. i'm not a fan of him at all but, credit where credit is due.

05 May 2019 21:52:43
Not a fan
Best midfielder at ibrox by a mile.

05 May 2019 22:04:41
Not having a dig yogi, but why aren’t you a fan? He’s a class act.

06 May 2019 08:53:33
Totally with you tilla die regarding stevie davis, even at 34 years old now! I would go a step further here and state davo is not only the best midfielder at ibrox, imo he's the best midfielder in scottish football!

06 May 2019 09:01:31
I must admit I wasn't thrilled to have Davis back, but for reasons other than football talent. He was pure class yesterday.

06 May 2019 10:07:20
Blue 89, just not a fan of bringing back players. I want the club to move forward and start to find players with future value. Its just my opinion but, I still thought he was class against hibs.

06 May 2019 10:31:18
Is he Supercoop?

05 May 2019 20:13:56
Having a chuckle to myself that Ross McCrorie has now had more appearances and clean sheets in goals than his brother Robby.

05 May 2019 21:34:49
said the same at the match, he can go home saying he played in goals for the first team and kept a clean sheet. that for sure is oneup manship.

05 May 2019 20:03:24
That's Defoe had a good run of games for you's and although league is done, he is coming onto form. I don't think you's will miss Morelos regardless of what fee you's get for him. Defoe at 36 offers more and I reckon you's will get another season out him.

05 May 2019 19:33:37
What the F&^ck was Macgregor thinking, his technique was all wrong, hell never get his 6th Dan at that rate.

05 May 2019 18:44:27
Mcgregor madness aside, I thought first half some of our play was class particularly for the goal. 2nd half quite flat but still dominated hibs and created a few chances. Said it many times now but we do look more like a rangers team. 👍.

05 May 2019 19:14:23
Agree coldo some of the 1 touch stuff was really good 1st half davis was different gravy and on another day wee defoe couldve had a couole more, as u say flat 2nd half but almost expected that still feel kamara is an absolute steal.

05 May 2019 19:29:12
Agreed, we are playing proper passing football, Hibs were just lumping it. A good run we are on and need to finish the last 2 games strong then build up for a serious title assault next season.

05 May 2019 19:31:19
Steven Davis was great today. You are right mate. First half was delightfull to watch. Game shouldve been dead and buried at half time!

05 May 2019 19:56:20
Kamara is a steal and davis just dictates the game. Defoe showed his class and why he has played at the top all of his career, must start before morelos. Katic was solid again. We must keep arfield and kent aswell for next season. Add quality to what we have already and things are looking very promising, pity we couldn't play like that before the split👍.

05 May 2019 20:04:40
I think it’s safe to say Alan McGregor wasn’t giving Celtic a guard of honour next weekend?

05 May 2019 20:49:42
The best two players on the park today, were steven davis and ryan jack. Steven davis was the motm just ahead of jack, rightly so in my eyes. I praised the signing of davo on here and did say judge him when he's match fit. Well he is now match fit and playing superb at the moment. At his tender age of 34 years young, i think the deep lying playmaker role is suiting wee davo at this stage in his career. He's playing that role superbly! In this role, i honestly think he could play on for easily another 2 years minimum. The guy STILL IS a class act. We were all talking at ibrox today and were all in agreement that both davis and arfield are showing they've played at a much higher level, than they're currently playing at. It sticks out a mile! Steven Davis always was and still is a terrific midfielder.

05 May 2019 21:37:10
i would have said Davis then Katic, thought the big man was immense. not a high ball went past him.

05 May 2019 21:45:22
We were very flat today nothing upfront as Defoe doesn’t do the chasing fredo does but get the ball
In the box and he will score.
I don’t know how anyone can say we were class even the manager said we were poor.

05 May 2019 22:36:07
Played good in the first half, very flat and average in the second half.

06 May 2019 00:17:56
Dead right gannet10, but Davis and katic were class, hope Defoe is keeping his shooting boots for next week.

06 May 2019 06:36:13
Gannet, some our play was class in the first half, did you not see the build up play to the goal? That was class. 2nd half was flat. Defoe is head and shoulders above morelos in all departments. 👍.

05 May 2019 17:57:21
Agree mcgregor moment of madness
But surely the way the joke that is the sfa work u can appeal making him avaulable
Is that correct?

05 May 2019 18:04:05
No point, they would hold the appeal hearing before the OF game. Deserves to be banned anyway. Let the mhanks milk the system. It suits them better tbh.

05 May 2019 18:06:48
Id guess a hearing would be fast tracked no way hel play nxt week and tbh rightly so total nutter love the the bloke but get a grip.

05 May 2019 18:36:34
Definate red, no excuses. Its not the first time he has done it. 👍.

05 May 2019 18:42:53
He doesn’t deserve to play in match and must be fined😡🇬🇧.

05 May 2019 19:51:16
Prob going to be big Fods last old firm game could be a blessing him coming in, I can see him putting on a good show and having more interest from down south.

05 May 2019 21:38:57
i would let Fods play the last two, chance is mcgregor. if morelos got fined a weeks wage then he must too.

05 May 2019 22:44:03
Geesa mcgregor will be due three game ban.

05 May 2019 17:54:06
Folk asking if we should give them a guard of honour - yes. I would argue that mob has zero class. Any club with the likes of Scott Brown as a captain should be ashamed of themselves. However I can’t say that if we don’t rise above it and act with class. So if I was the gaffer 100% they would get a guard of honour. And I would say to the players if you don’t like it, if it sticks in your throat, if it harms your professional pride, remember this and make sure it doesn’t happen next year.

05 May 2019 18:04:39
Nah, just nah.

05 May 2019 18:11:30
The swagman, ask yourself this - would Celtic give us a guard of honour? I think not. As for Broon, this is a guy with a Rangers tattoo on his leg and also gave a gentlemans handshake to sign for Rangers. Turncoat!

05 May 2019 19:07:25
He never has had, or did have a rangers tattoo on his leg. That's a false story and has been proved this time and again. If Kevin Thomson wasn't ravaged by injuries we would have had the far better midfielder anyway.

05 May 2019 19:22:13
The Stuck - no they wouldn’t give us one. Which is exactly why we should give them one. Class is permanent. Otherwise we are right down at their bitter, paranoid, knuckle dragging level. They beat us fair and square, we shot ourselves in the foot with our poor discipline. So as I say, do it, use it as a motivational tool for the players for next season and next time we walk out on their ground as champions see if they have the class to return the favour.

05 May 2019 19:28:12
Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t give each other guards of honour. Hibs didn’t give us 1 either go online and watch Sutton after we had won our 50th title and tell me if they would of give us a guard of honour that year.

05 May 2019 19:58:57
Again, don’t go down to their level. Show some class.

05 May 2019 20:21:13
No guard of honour. When and why did this rubbish start?

05 May 2019 20:52:04
Your correct frustrated blue. The lego muncher never had a rangers tattoo but was a boyhood rangers supporter.

05 May 2019 19:33:35
ED can we have a poll please? Has Broon got a Rangers tattoo? Yes or no?

{Ed033's Note -

Broon Rangers tattoo poll

05 May 2019 22:54:44
Nope they can shove it right up their a**e, not a single team in the country have any respect what so ever for us, not 1, infact they all go out their way to be as disrespectful as possible.
Nothing we ever do would earn any respect from any of these clubs so why not earn some of the disrespect, get it right up them.
On another note Forrest PFA player of the year 🤔, Tav has more goals and assists from RB, makes no sense😩.

05 May 2019 23:10:38
Hes not
Fact.

05 May 2019 23:23:28
The swagman

Are you seriously suggesting we give a guard on honour to a club who tried their best to kill our club, who tried their hardest to have our titles stripped? Who have contacted UEFA to try and get them to investigate why we were allowed to gain a European licence to play in Europe? They hate us and haven’t missed a chance to have a dig at us at every turn. Give them nothing.

06 May 2019 07:29:07
Who cares about them and what they do or what they did. We are all Glasgow Rangers and we rise above and do the right thing.
If that means a GoH then so be it.

If I was SG I’d make sure we do it and make sure they players respect it.

06 May 2019 07:44:56
Also a club who refuse to reference us by name officially Arthur. Should be a close game, they all have been this season, we need to play to our strengths on Sunday, same team that started yesterday, we’ll be fine.

05 May 2019 17:53:11
Love McGregor but honestly, wtf was he playing at. That's 3 times this year, got away with it v Celtic, banned after Aberdeen and now this today leaving us with Fod in goal for next week. Gerard needs to go through him.

05 May 2019 18:03:51
Yip the guys got a screw loose but he is also a flawed genius and he’s unlikely to change, glad it didn’t cost us today and we can move on but really mystified at what goes on with McGregor.

05 May 2019 18:16:17
There's no doubt McGregor is a class keeper who has saved us a great number of points this season. If you watch him he approaches the ball with his knee up all the time, i know he's trying to protect himself but lately he's becoming more aggressive. can't really explain his actions today though.

05 May 2019 18:53:07
Beginning to think he had a bet on we would draw.
As stuck says he is getting more an more like that .
Mind you he seems to have always had this streak in him, remember him giving the vicci to the cameras on the Scotland bench years ago.

05 May 2019 18:56:07
so if the morelos rules apply then some people will be shouting to ged rid, he is a liability etc etc.

06 May 2019 09:15:35
Aye geesa, if he goes on like Morelos in every game he plays and gets sent off like him then aye we will be shouting get rid.

But I'm quite sure he will control his temper unlike Morelos who I personally don't believe can or will at our Club.

05 May 2019 17:36:32
Was McGregor as much a twit the first time round? Why does he have to act like that? Far too often, get a grip ya clown.

05 May 2019 17:55:47
McGregor, what a -wat, what goes through his head, a complete idiot. Very flat game, Steve Davis back to his best.

05 May 2019 21:41:45
and yes he was a twit first time round. seemed to be unable not to resist the wee flick out at someone. difference was last time out he didn't have a compliance officer like we do now or he would have been up at hampden every second week.

05 May 2019 17:31:17
wes will finally get his reward of a last old firm game before he is shipped out. deservedly so and McGregor got what he deserved and not for the first time --and after a great save but like morelos they do great things and spoil them with pure unprofessionalism----oh and candeias is not rangers class---couldn't pass a ball to save himself---could go on but hey---5 wins in a row I guess makes us heroes but not in my eye--the league was there to be won and poor management decisions cost us---Flanagan is a right footed left back---doesn't work ---Tavernier is a midfielder in the making but the gaffer doesn't see it----a lot he doesn't see---lets see how he does next year as 9 in a row MUST be stopped--.

05 May 2019 17:35:37
He has his holidays booked for tomorrow.

He doesn't want the embarrassment of getting stuffed next weekend.

05 May 2019 17:37:49
Progress but 2nd is nothing in football.

05 May 2019 17:43:08
Tavernier is not a midfielder. He's the modern full back, if he's not good enough to play there sell, but moving him to midfield isn't the answer. Careful though, even for top money he will be hard to replsce with the amount of goals he contributes.

05 May 2019 17:58:30
Sorry, but all but 2 of his goals this season have been penalties, so that doesn't count. I do like him though, he plays for the badge.

05 May 2019 18:51:35
Tav has the most assists in the league above POTY nominees Kent and Forrest you won't get another full back with numbers like that.

05 May 2019 19:09:59
Look at his assist stats, that's also contributing. Almost 20 assists from full back were never replacing that with the money we have available.

05 May 2019 17:28:39
All kidding a side wtf is shagger doing ther total bampot no need out of next week feckin crazyhorse.

05 May 2019 17:34:01
Can't defend it. Sheer stupidity. Big Fod is a good keeper and will be ok next week.

05 May 2019 17:34:24
Not the first time he's done similar, getting to be a liability like Alfie!

05 May 2019 17:36:18
Magregor is a total clown can't defend that.

05 May 2019 20:14:56
Think Shagger has booked his holidays last year and got the fecking dates wrong. So get sent off and save losing your deposit to Tenerife.

Muppet. 🤡.

05 May 2019 17:09:44
Hypothetical question. Last game of the season. If Kilmarnock beat us they do Aberdeen out of Europe. Who do we dislike most, Clarke or Aberdeen. Do we try or give Killie a hand?

05 May 2019 17:39:47
Well kilI didn't want us down so no brainer.

05 May 2019 17:44:14
Help nobody we win all our games.

05 May 2019 18:12:45
Play 100% to win every game. Help no one.

05 May 2019 16:15:29
That first goal was pure class. Haven't seen that in a long while. Well done Arfield, Davis, Jack and Defoe. Lovely stuff.

05 May 2019 15:04:03
Why fire a warning out to players and then don't Gove them a chance to reply in a game that means nothing.

05 May 2019 15:20:27
Because why should they even deserve the chance if they’re not showing the right attitude in training. I’d rather some young players play than a first team player that thinks he’s got it made.

05 May 2019 15:20:36
Give sorry.

05 May 2019 15:50:13
Every game should mean something to a Rangers player! I think SG has made his mind up regarding who is finished at Ibrox.
The warning is probably for players who think they are in a comfort zone.

05 May 2019 13:46:06
Think we should certainly enquire about Turnbull from Motherwell. Great prospect, better than Hastie in my opinion, and could learn from experienced players like Davis and Arfield. Possibly offer either Wallace, Rossiter, Lafferty for example as part of a deal.

05 May 2019 14:01:55
Shaft can't offer Wallace he is a free.

05 May 2019 14:18:26
Hastie is a winger, Turnbull is a midfielder.

05 May 2019 14:48:34
Turnbull is decent but I wouldn’t offer Rossiter he’s done really well at bury also with Docherty back and the midfielders we have already I’m not sure he’d get much game time but I’d take him and loan him out see if he comes on.

05 May 2019 16:26:39
Jboy21 sorry forgot Wallace available on free.

05 May 2019 17:45:50
Rossiter score a beauty for bury yday.

05 May 2019 13:22:37
I posted about standards yesterday and how our famous club stuck to those standards over the years.

Now. this guard of honour!

I think we should do it as it’s the right thing to do! Like it or lump it Celtic have won the league and believe me a guard of honour will hurt me as much as the next blue nose.

However it is the right thing to do, it will show a touch of class and won’t give anyone (pundits, media, etc) ammunition to drag our name through the mud.

05 May 2019 13:38:08
strongly disagree. feel if the team give the tims a guard of honour will be met with extremely heavy boos when the teams emerge.

05 May 2019 13:40:24
Tend to agree Henderson, if our club and manager decide it what we do. What I cannot agree is an idiot like Sutton trying to stir trouble.

05 May 2019 13:40:30
I dont
no respect for them.

05 May 2019 13:47:23
Jboy Sutton is a cheerleader! Absolute warmer of a guy.

Im not saying we all clap Celtic on and acknowledge them winning the league, Evenif we did boo and sing through the guard of honour that would be fine, but in terms of integrity i think it’s the right thing to do!
I remember when Hibs didn’t do it for and there was a hoo ha, I was even quite disgusted with them.

05 May 2019 14:03:17
Points well made 87.

05 May 2019 15:53:42
Just don’t do it!
A team and a support who totally detest us! 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

05 May 2019 16:44:26
Guard of honour don’t make me laugh Celtic have No class and show us No respect imagine Brown the clown winding our players up before a balls even kicked, absolutely not my sole intention would be to wipe the floor with them at ibrox and let them know what they are in for next season.

05 May 2019 12:13:53
Lads first post please don't slaughter me. I think Kent has what it takes. Morelos needs a long hard chat way Souness/ Fergie, I admire his passion but could choke him at times. I would keep Arfield he has the makings of a proud Ranger. Love Tab going forward but makes my boxers scared when defending.

05 May 2019 13:02:57
A long hard chat with Souness or Fergie would be an admission of failure by our own Manager. He is what he is and is most likely off.

05 May 2019 19:09:35
during his time in Finland he wasnt red carded once. so the difference is that he needs to get used to be wound up. he will learn, i am confident of that. i think i am the only supporter on here who wants Morelos to stay, i believe if the right price comes in we should cash in but honestly even if we get 20M for him there aren't many players who will score 30 a season for 20M.

if he goes then keep defoe and search for another hidden gem to make our next 20M not squander on the likes of Kent at 8M who actually was second choice to Murphy before he was sidelined at rugby park.

05 May 2019 11:47:27
Arguably the best run the team has had this season has been the last four games since Morelos was banned. How frustrating as I wonder what might have been had Defoe and Davis been fit and playing every game from the start of the year. Arfield and Jack have been great too. Gone now, but we must try and finish with three more wins and set ourselves up for next season. No surprise to see the sheep lying down again yesterday (after all, isn't that what sheep do? ) . Today, I think 4-0 for the Gers with a Defoe hat-trick!

05 May 2019 12:44:31
DOIGER. What price do you get for that wager? Personally I've gone for both teams to score with Rangers to win at 3/ 1.

05 May 2019 13:51:01
pretty sure we were level with c*ltic just before we signed either defoe or davis in January., definitley a missed opportunity. Both defoe and davis are playing well now but am sure Steven Gerrard, our manager, didn't expect it to take till April to get the both match fit.

05 May 2019 09:46:09
genuine question to someone clear it up or shoot me down if u must. one of my celtic supporting pal put a 50 up yesterday on FB with all the years they have won the title. Never noticed until now but this include titles during WW1. Why have Rangers not included or have not been award the titles the won during WW2 which am told would have given us another 9IAR and another 7 titles on to what we currently have? cheers if anybody can clear this up.

05 May 2019 10:08:48
I don't know bud but I have said a few times we should campaign to have them recognised. That would would give UJ the Timplosion he's been craving lol. Its something to do witb the league being suspended and didn't take the correct format. Funny that considering Rangers were cleaning up 9 titles in a row. First to do it actually. Cue Pat and Mick.

05 May 2019 09:44:50
Concerning the goalkeeper from St . J. that we are supposedly looking at Zander Clark, I read somewhere that as a youth he was with Rangers and Celtic?

05 May 2019 11:33:44
Ulsterman, what's your point?

05 May 2019 15:19:01
Bgate - no point just an observation, have you a hangover.

05 May 2019 09:18:12
Hearing former rangers left back davie robertson is going to be at ibrox today, as a guest of the club. Hope he can have a word with barisic and show him how a top quality class left back should play. Robertson was a superb left back and had everything. He was as fast as a gazelle, very hard in the tackle,
had a terrific attitude to the game, great overlapping left full back, who chipped in with some goals. Oh how i wish we had someone like him at rangers! Him and arthur numan were imo, the best 2 left backs, i witnessed in a rangers jersey!

05 May 2019 09:33:08
Coop great post. Robertson was also last out the bar! Smashing left back as youve said.

05 May 2019 09:33:31
No papac no party 🥳.

05 May 2019 10:10:01
Papac lol Robertson was great player mate!

05 May 2019 10:23:23
Laudrup n davie robertson on the left were sensational, what a pairing.

05 May 2019 11:44:56
Just goes to show the different eras have different nominees for best position. My nominee for the best left back rangers have had has to go to Eric Caldow.

05 May 2019 11:56:47
Papac was one of the best left backs I've seen at Ibrox in recent years. He didn't get the nickname "Mr reliable" for nothing. He wasn't spectacular in the slightest, but he went on the pitch, done his job and went home. We could do with more of that from some of our players just now.

05 May 2019 12:14:28
Both good players but all I’ll say is. Arthur Numan.

05 May 2019 12:53:21
Don’t forget the pile drivers Robertson used to strike with his left peg either.

05 May 2019 13:53:03
I always remember Stuart Munro playing left back when I was a young boy. Can anyone remember if he was any good? Was my first poster out of the old rangers news.

05 May 2019 13:54:44
My favourite was Numan. Thought Robertson was great though. Robertson is manager of a club in Kashmir, there's been a documentary about him managing out there. Its brilliant and funny as f*ck watch.

05 May 2019 08:01:41
Regarding Ryan Kent, seems he has a decision to make on his future. Supposing we can sign him, whether a loan or permanent deal as fans we should do our bit of persuasion and sing his name at out remaining games. show him how much we appreciate his talent.

05 May 2019 09:36:06
We constantly sing his name in the song we've adopted for ryan kent anyway mate. To the tune of the joy division song "love will tear us apart again", its of course "kent kent will tear you apart again"!

05 May 2019 11:35:41
I'm in club deck I've never heard it. I don't get to many away games coop.

05 May 2019 11:58:43
Im in club deck loyal and I've heard it. Its heard at every game. Kent, Kent will tear you apart. again!

05 May 2019 13:57:16
I like Kent and hope we sign him but youse can't have heard that song that much this season. Pretty sure Middleton has better stats than him.

05 May 2019 15:31:40
blueberrys don’t point out Kents average stats in a poor league to those who want to spend 5 Million plus on him.
