Ridiculous DK to suggest that. A player has to thrive in these environments. You don't see messi etc spitting the dummy if fans give them grief. It inspires top players. If they can't handle then they are at the wrong club👍.

100% coldo. Players should thrive on the pressure of being at a huge club, or they shouldn't be there. Having talent is only half the package as a footballer, mentality is huge and is why some really talented players flounder around mid table teams who can just go through the motions every week, no pressure.

Joe aribo looks as if he's going to be absolutely crucial for us this season. He looks bigger and stronger.
He has immense skill, very good, fast feet and terrific technique. His goal was a thing of beauty! Our 3 very skillful attacking players in kent, hagi and aribo all looked superb again tonight 👌! Again when brandon barker came on he looked terrific again and long may that continue 👏! The only big negative tonight was the unfortunate hamstring injury to jermain defoe 😞
We needed another striker pronto before defoe's injury tonight and now have 10 days before we go up to sheepland to get another striker in which is a top priority now! Morelos looks off it atm for me. He doesn't look fit/ sharp at all and he needs to be at it for the sheep a week on saturday. All in all i'm a very happy bear to what i'm seeing from my team atm! 👌👍.

And to think that just before lockdown about half of our fans (and many on here) were moaning about what an awful player he was and picking teams where he wasn't even a sub!
As SGL will probably remember, when we signed him I said I had actually seen him play and that he would soon be a star for us. I also said just last week that this season he would would be a star for us. I'll tell you what, Joe Aribo will be a star for us - unless he is targeted by the assassins in our game.

players. Don't get me wrong, aribo was superb last night as was kent hagi kamara jack barasic in particular but that's the type of performance we need from these players every game. one performance doesn't make a player. They laided down a marker last night with individual performances now they have to live up to that performance👍.

I remember the covenanter and you were bang on the money regarding joe aribo 👌👍. Far too many on this site see players as robots and its all black and white when they're judging them!
That's not the way football works guys and i've said as much on here. Like yourself the covenanter, i have continually stuck up for joe aribo on here, in fact i've stuck up for most of our players on here, as IMHO we have very good players at rangers, capable of winning the league!
What some of our supporters forget to remember is, take joe aribo for an example here, he's come up to a massive football club, with massive pressure and expectations that our club and supporters demand and rightly so. But it can't take even the better, more skilful players time to settle at a unique club like the glasgow rangers!
Yes aribo was hot and cold and a bit inconsistent last season, but for anyone who knows the slightest thing about football, you could see aribo was an extremely talented boy 👌! Like you the covenanter and most likely many of us on here, i reckon aribo will prove how very talented he is and i fully expect his performances for us this season to be of a very high standard, consistently.
His talent has never been in question for me.
He's well capable of being the player of the year, as has kent, hagi etc! Everyone of our players are extremely important to us playing at a very high standard week in week out, that's going to take for us to win this league. Regarding aribo, Kent and hagi, i honestly think with the talent between these 3, very attacking, skilful players, WILL IMO go a helluva long way to us winning the league! Each one of these 3 again IMHO, will be the scottish player of the year, for this upcoming season.
So instead of some shouting to get rid of players, just because of certain aspects to reasons at times they're off form, look at the all round big picture, as to maybe why,
before wanting them thrown in the scrap heap!

I agree coldo that one performance doesn't make a player, but also on the other hand mate, a couple of mediocre/ bad performances, also doesn't make them bad players, or not good enough. Everyone can spot if a player is talented or not and joe aribo is one talented boy👌Never had a doubt about it mate! There's always reasons we need to check through and look at, as to why a talented player isn't performing to his best, before at the least run of bad performances, wanting them cast aside and thrown out the door!
That's my thinking/ philosophy anyway!

It wasn't just a couple of mediocre or bad performances coop, it was a regular basis. Many thought ojo would come good. You were also singing the praise of the fridge after lyon but then against nice and again last night he was shaky. Its all about consistency mate in my eyes and that's what's been lacking in a lot of individual performances. Anyway talking of consistency, how good has kamara been recently? With a consistent run of games in the team he will dominate the midfield. 👍.

I will explain my comment, I agree that Defoe is a great professional and a fine example to all our young players and he’s had a great career. But if rumours are to be believed he’s on around £20k a week, he has no pace, no strength is injury prone and we can’t afford to pay that money for a guy with a great footballing brain but a typical 37 year olds body I’m sorry if you don’t like my opinion but Scottish football requires either strength or pace and most definitely robustness and I don’t think he has any of these things 🤷🏽♂️.

It wasn't the fact we got beat by United it's was more the players who I thought would want to try impress like McCrorie Jones Stewart docherty and I said if we got beat 4.1 then it didn't sound like they had taken there chance once again which was disappointing!
But I also said I had seen or heard about how the game was played I was going on the score line
By some of your replies it does sound some indeed didn't take there chance and I point out again that's disappointing and as some rightly pointed out it we'll be there time to be moved on and once again probably not for much profit if any 🙄.

The guys you mentioned should all be loaned out to other spl teams, give them a chance to show what they can do in this league and if it’s not good enough for us at least they are in the shop window. I mean if Aberdeen want 3m for Ferguson And Motherwell 4m for turnbull then these guys like Docherty, McCrorie and Jones definitely have value they just need a chance to showcase their ability.

The lad is really playing well. He looks razor sharp.
Also think it helps playing iPhone at opposite sides from Kamara. Think when playing on the same side they can slow the game down too much.
Really good start to the game. Interesting to see Kent and Hagi tucking in and letting Tav and Burns provide the width. This should help take some pressure off Morelos cod he will have more support and they will hopefully chip in with the goals.

Say what you want about it being pre season friendly but that was an absolute disgraceful result v Dundee United this afternoon. B team - let's face, some of that team will be on subs bench this season or in and around the 1st team. Just shows our squad still isn't good enough and hasn't been nowhere near good enough to win anything. We better hope we don't suffer major prolonged injuries this season because if that's who's coming in then wow, I give up. Doc was in that team and they are few individuals on here who claim he is what's missing in the midfield - really? Maybe I'm going over the top but it was a shocking result.

The fact that Jones, Stewart, Docherty and McCrorie are playing in that game rather than being in with the 1st team tonight looks a bit ominous for them IMO. Looks like Jones and Stewart will be behind Murphy and Barker in the pecking order. Obviously with Jack, Arfield, Davis, Aribo and Kamara I can’t see Docherty or McCrorie getting much game time either. Maybe another loan for them but the other 2 are older players, if he doesn’t fancy them they will probably be moved on.

Finding it hard to get excited by potentially signing Roofe seemed to be injured a lot last season with both ankle and calf injuries
6 goals two assists in 13 games not bad stat but he missed a lot of game time
I'll always bow done to our scouting having vastly superior knowledge to any of us on here and hope if he comes it works out

3. Michael Dawson ( Brilliant defender and still has it and 36/ 37 is not too old for a centre half. Some of them Italians play till their mid 40s. He will be good cover when Katic is out.

I honestly think he's improved our club a lot from top to bottom, especially so as the mess he inherited! From your personal view if god forbid gerrard didn't manage to win the league, but won silverware, do you think he should remain as our manager? I certainly do, as i truly think he'll win the league for us and will become a very good manager.
We're all impatient to an extent mate, but i honestly don't think gerrard is too far away from making us the no.1 club in scotland again,
where we belong! I said from the outset when gerrard was appointed,
that i'd give him a minimum of 3 years, to win the league and become the best team in scotland again and i'm still very much prepared to do that! 👍.

Honest answer he has done a fantastic job. I know many want rid off him, incredulous.
Our club is moving forward, he has attracted better players than we had, made lots from Europe, also he is raising profile off the pitch.
He needs to win something soon, however I want him here till end 2024 as long as we keep seeing improvement.
Within two years I reckon we will see four or five academy players in 18 every week, that is progress.
I have said it would take club till 2022 to win league and stand by that, however I’m not saying it can’t be done sooner.
Never forget they tried to kill us and still hate us.
We will be back, when the going gets tough the tough get going. One day soon we will have a hell of A party, look how long it took Liverpool and Leeds to achieve what they have.

SGL there are more than 3 old yins on here. i for one went to my first ibrox game in 1969 at 8 years old. starting working at 15 and bought my first season ticket in 1980. didn't have a dad to buy one for me so had to save on my apprenticeship money. seen many poor displays and teams in my days including John Greig managership and many incredible displays. never thought i would see my team go under like it did, my oldest brother (sheriff officer) and st mirren supporter told me they were going down and always thought he was just winding me up. actually knowing where we have been is what drives me to believe that the glory years aren't far away again and being at ibrox for the return of the european games to me is more important than stopping 10iar (not that i don't want that to happen) . but its more important to get revenues in and improve our international standing to ensure we continue for the next 100 plus years.
