With talk of lewis Ferguson on here over the last couple of days and then talking about how good his uncle Barry was and how we crave a no.6 type of midfielder even remotely close to the ability of baz, got me thinking of this question i'll throw out to everyone on this wonderful site. ?
From the Ferguson clan of derek, barry and lewis, who for you guys was the better midfielder of the 3 and why legislating that of course lewis has still a wee bit to go in his football career ?.

Barry hands down.
Barry was a terrific footballer who could dictate, mix it and score, Derek was a good Rangers player but not great like his wee brother.
Don't see Lewis is the same type of player as his Dad or Uncle.

Barry. All day. Not even a debate.
Barry was truly world class.
Performances in Europe, but against the crème de la crème man v man not just Europe in general, set him aside to n terms of Scottish midfielder ms for me over last 30-40 years. Only Souness could touch him due to playing for Liverpool and Italy.
Not even Darren fletcher could argue his case.
Barry was and is best mf player I've ever seen in Scotland.

I agree guys ?I was always a massive fan of barry Ferguson as he absolutely put his stamp on games and dominated the games ?He set the tempo for Rangers superbly and always protected the ball and had the unique ability to find space, even in the tightest of spaces, he was an outstanding no.6 midfielder ?I remember a relatively young baz playing against bayern munich at Ibrox against effenberg and he played him off the park and at the end of the game that night effenberg went over to baz and told him how highly he thought of him ?As i've said before on this site ie.
for me barry Ferguson easily the best scottish midfielder to come out of Scotland over the last quarter of a century with ease ?Derek was also a very good midfielder as is his son lewis but baz for me by a bit, the better midfielder of the 3??? Baz always played with his head up and chest out and dominated the midfield for Rangers ? Truly an outstanding midfielder he was ???.

Barry, derek then Lewis in that order. And I would have Lewis in a heartbeat. Barry was absolutely terrific. I rate him as one of the best Scotland has produced in my lifetime.

Myself as a 8/9/10 yo as seeing a football player play his trade mate if u get me?
I class my football knowledge from dick advocaat onward. I was 12 when advocaat came in.
As for Gazza, he's a better player than Barry but and a big but, a different player. If u need a box to box mf player or defensive mf player I'd pick Barry.
If need an attacking mf player and a goalscorer I pick Gazza.
