Where do we find the next barry Ferguson ie. a playmaking no.6?We absolutely need a lot of players for various positions within our starting 11,but if we can get a proper no.6 who controls everything for us in there and knows exactly what tempo to play at regarding what's actually happening in the game, we can build around a top no.6 fellow bears ?.

Lewis Ferguson would have been ideal coops but you thought he wasn't good enough. McInnes would have been a great manager but you also thought he wasn't good enough.
So who do you think will be good enough?

He should be coming from our youth system, however a quick chat gbt search shows the depressing reality of how many true class players have been produced by Murray park, since it opened in 2001 a mere handful of quality players have came from it, what is going wrong there?

Barry was a special player Sir Walter and hard to replace, Steven Davis was a big player for us to and we haven't brought in the right player since him and Kamara left.
It is possible to get someone who has the right aggression and can dictate the play also but we need to be looking at all ages for that.

Davis I think was 31 or 32 when we brought him back and he done a great job in those four or five years before he retired.
Since that time we have changed our model and primarily looked at younger players.
It's time to get the right player in first and foremost.

It doesn't matter what sws thinks he's not making the decisions. Personally I wasn't overly impressed by Ferguson but wouldve backed him had the club bought him.

Why do we think a 6 is going to revolutionize our squad, we have too many who can already play that role. What we need is goal scorers and a captain that inspires and holds players to a standard. SOme actual decent wide players would be great too!

I don't see Lewis Ferguson as that type of player, and I like Lewis as a player.
He is good at breaking up play and looks a tidy passer but does not have the range of passing or will to get on the ball at every opportunity in order to dictate the play.
I remember when we were linked with him the first time and the consensus was that we didn't need him because we had Davis, Kamara and Jack in midfield and for me all three were more gifted midfielders and ultimately that's what the club felt at that time.

He would certainly demand and command a place in this current team no doubts about that but maybe he's an upgrade of a Connor Barron type of player.

Club i've held my hands up on the lewis Ferguson thing my friend and undoubtedly got that wrong ? However regarding derek mcinnes the majority of us on here didn't think del should be our Rangers manager but that's not to say he's not done well in his managerial career and hindsight is a wonderful thing my friend ?For the record have you continually shouted from the rooftops that derek mcinnes should be the Rangers manager ?.

Bbj, I'm the same opinion we don't need a number 6, we need an attack minded CAM who runs beyond our strikers and a box to box midfielder with energy. Two ball playing CBs who are comfy with the ball and stop this cm coming to take the ball from the cb's. That's nonsense for me and we have done it for the last 3 or 4 years just creates massive gaps opposing teams exploit.

That's just for starters.
The reality is all through our squad in every position we lack quality, majority of they players should be nowhere near a Rangers top. Recruitment and mismanagement from the start of the season has been shambolic. I hope Rohl and the owners can put this right but fear it's going to take a lot longer than we are all expecting.

Coops there will probably never be another Barry due to the fact there's no pathway to the first team anymore mate

What 16yo of Barry's ability is going to sign on for us when offered to go to any academy in the world he wishes? As that's what Barry Ferguson of today would be offered

Barcelona Real Madrid Bayern Munich Man City the Milan's, even if he wants to hedge his bets he'd have Brighton and West Ham or Brentford etc showing him a pathway to forst team football and giving him 20k a week at 16.
