No desire or creative intent from this bunch. we all know the culprits. but I bet there's lots of desire when they cash their weekly pay cheques. such a sad bunch representing our great club.

Actually thought it was pretty even, with us potentially looking more comfortable, until 2 mistakes from Butland.
After that we were all over the place until half time and then Hearts just had to sit in and counter.
Tav was comfortably the worst player on the pitch today. Seen a lot of criticism aimed at Raskin, however he spent the first half dropping short and looking for the ball, but our defence was so slow in possession that they constantly had to go long and completely bypassed our midfield.
Finally, thought Rohl got it wrong by trying to match up with them, which just played in to their hands.

EHL so what is the issue. Either that's being coached or the players lack the skill to achieve it. Quite a few times I'm thinking touch and turn, move into forward space. Nothing. Back it goes. that's the whole team.
Second half Nico got more involved but he isn't the provider that's required and as for Tav any new contract if given, does need a national enquiry.
I can see us missing out on Europe and that will have massive financial implications.

Ehl, arrons offers nothing, possibly worse player in the league for me. Chermiti offered more than Miovski. Agree re tav. Stirling did ok.

Its like watching statues play football, we have no movement, when we do get the ball there are no runners, nobody moving into space to create space for other team-mates. Badly need to try and get some creativity in the middle of the park.
That plus there is no fight for each other in that team, looks a team full of strangers.

At one point in the match Nico was playing in central defence and collecting the ball from Butland while Tav was trying to play in front of Nico, I thought it would've been the other way around.

Windy, the issue is that players know that if they make a mistake then the likelihood is that the players around them won't dig them out a hole - so they look for the easy option more often than they should, which tends to be backwards.
Everything Hearts done today was really basic. They defended deep with 5 that very rarely looked to complicate things, had a midfield two that fought for scraps and they continually played the percentage balls in the channel between the centre halfs and fullbacks for their front 3 to chase.
We went with a midfield 3, who we didn't involve and a front 2 who weren't able to keep the ball - which is where I think Rohl got it wrong.

EHL you're right, Hearts didn't have to play well, be solid, fight for each other and take the odd moment when it comes and that's enough.

EHL I completely agree. On a few occasions our goalkeeper and 2 centre halves completely stopped moving with the ball.
No urgency to increase any tempo and when they had to release the ball they had to kick it long and miss out the midfield.
If that's a tactic Rohl wants then I can't see any supporters being impressed.
So many times we passed backwards. You learn that if Meghoma or Tav have to come inside towards the centre of the field then they'll pass it back. Does no coaching teach these guys to play passes with their weaker foot?!

I said in live chat it wasn't quality but fight and desire that was lacking especially when we went behind. EHL is indicating that players don't believe the others will bail them out thus safe possession football. What I am starting to think is our players even with Danny are perhaps being over coached and our coach's overthinking.
Is the players model project and the ethos of possession football clashing. Maybe need better players to pursue the latter. ??.
