Morning bears

John and the rest of the good people in the know can hopefully debunk or confirm what I'm being told.

Shankland to put in a transfer request. Ridvan to stay unless its obligation to buy and not option. Barasic is staying till end of season with only one more signing being made after the lad cortes comes in.

Granted its a drunken conversation from Saturday night but the lad who told me works closely with fan media and was adamant. cannot confirm nor deny the fourth Jura had any influence on his belief of conviction lol

Feel that with the business we have done thus far and maybe a striker we could win the league this year. 17 Cup finals from here on in. stick or twist?

PeterHuistria44

1.) 29 Jan 2024 09:14:22
Dont see the point in shankland putting in a transfer request if going by all the trustwd posters on here that the club are not interested in signing him and have made no contact with hearts?

2.) 29 Jan 2024 10:08:37
Given Silva Diomande Cortes and Jefte are all early 20s I’d be surprised if we signed Shankland now. Given how late it is in the window I really can’t see them selling him as they will struggle to get a replacement.

3.) 29 Jan 2024 10:31:46
Theres one thing I can agree on PeterH. that Jura is good stuff! ?.

4.) 29 Jan 2024 10:49:47
I don't know if we will get another striker
Dessers seems to be more confident and we have the boy from wolves and Danilo
I think we will get jefte tho and that might mean yilmaz will go although I think he has came onto a good player
The Columbian on loan looks interesting aswell.

5.) 29 Jan 2024 11:01:10
Is there any news from the big three on this site concerning definite transfers both in and out? Big three being John 27, Copland, White horse, and occasionally Paul 86 throws in some good info .

6.) 29 Jan 2024 11:47:59
It’s all pretty accurate Peter.

7.) 29 Jan 2024 12:01:52
Shankland is going nowhere, he has found his level and happy place. Though if Hearts find something a bit quicker St Johnstone will be interested for sure .

8.) 29 Jan 2024 12:09:10
MichaelC60 . Danilo is injured and likely to be until the end of the season. Silva is not a CF either. Leaves us Dessers as only option. Ill be shocked if we don't bring in another CF.

9.) 29 Jan 2024 12:26:39
Danilo posted that he was walking gingerly without crutches today, needs time.

10.) 29 Jan 2024 12:40:12
I doubt we will bring in a CF now.

With Silva (who's main position is CF despite what some posters claim -
Just one that isn't scoring regularly)
Secondary positions are Second Striker then LW)

Diomande - CAM - Signed.

Jefte - LB - now incoming.

And Possibly Oscar Cortes - RW.

Will we sign a 4th player or stick 3?

Only 3 can join our Europa Squad.

The Next few days we will know for sure.

None of the reliable sources on here seem to have anymore information this window than most of us.

With the club keeping Shtum about the deals until they are confirmed.
going to be hard for anyone to get anything reliable prior to an actual signing.

11.) 29 Jan 2024 13:09:21
I really hope we don't let Ridvan leave for any less than £5m (either now or an obligation in summer) . He's clearly got potential, and now with a run in the team is starting to improve our team (so much more mobile than Borna) . But if we're signing Jefte I think it probably means he's away given Borna is in he only LB in the euro squad (so him leaving would require 2 of our three changes to the squad to be LBs which seems a waste) .

12.) 29 Jan 2024 13:15:00
Even if we count Silva as a striker, to play the second half of the season with only two given the number of games we could have to play, would be a dangerous strategy . Danilo won`t be back playing before next season and Roofe is a 20 minute sub until he is freed at the end of the season. The only reason not to at least get another loanee striker in would be if the manager sees Lovelace as an option as back up. If he gets fit he could also give cover in the wide areas as well.

13.) 29 Jan 2024 13:27:58
Laudrup you’re missing Silva as well so if Jefte and Cortes come in we’re at 4.

14.) 29 Jan 2024 13:49:26
GMS where did silva play on Saturday?

15.) 29 Jan 2024 14:38:28
Davidb1996, Silva was the 1st player i mentioned out of the 4 in my post.

Having 4 was the potential issue, if we sign 1 more player as well as Jefte we are at 4, only 3 Euro spots up for grabs.
Unless 1 of the potential 2 out of Jefte and Cortes, is not coming in until summer window?

We will all find out soon enough.

16.) 29 Jan 2024 15:11:45
I’ve got a strange feeling that there won’t be any number 9 coming in, Silva Diomande, Cortes and Jefte on paper look good but apart from Silva who’s been here a few weeks now the rest are going to take time to settle.

Diomande is the one I expect big things from, either way tho these signIngs are not really for now though! And if we get no new striker then I’m not really sure we’ve effected this season’s title race all that much.

If there’s a last deal to be had it’s a proven goal scorer, not one for next season. If we get a striker that will take us up to 5. If it’s 3 only for Europa league I don’t think Jefte will make it. I think the 3 will be Silva definitely. Diomande and New Striker/ Cortes. If the new Striker was Shankland I don’t think he would make it either- he’s a SPL player. I don’t think we will get a Shankland but for example if the new striker was someone like Michy Bat then he’d definitely be in.

All I’m interested in is the new striker all these signings are great but I want someone better upfront. Although I will say Dessers is been doing well but it’s still not enough. No new striker no league for me.

17.) 29 Jan 2024 15:19:45
Gms83 we also have roofe. Silence. ??????

Laudrupjagi I still think club should appeal for a fourth to uefa with the injury to sima from afcon duty.

18.) 29 Jan 2024 15:24:27
Apologies I read it wrong it was because of the way it was listed with the other 3. For me Jefte would definitely be included as Clement has said regularly about the imbalance of the European squad. I’d expect it to be Diomande who would miss out simply because we already have plenty cms registered.

19.) 29 Jan 2024 15:25:17
Also I can't see cortes joining euro squad I'd put mcausland ahead of him right wing at a push you can use tav or cantwell matondo to back up that position

I can see jefte playing as a left winger or left back so he will get a squad place with sima out

Diomande of course

And silva

And appeal for a fourth to add yilmaz.

20.) 29 Jan 2024 16:15:12
Rangers are planning for next season so some signings may miss europa.

21.) 29 Jan 2024 16:44:09
Gofor he can play left also and we have sima missing.

22.) 29 Jan 2024 18:15:07
We should always be planning for the future and the next season.
That’s how u run a football club.

Concentrating on here and now is setting upto fail in the future.

I think we win the league next season under this manager
If he’s gave the tools he wants.

This season is within our grasp.

23.) 29 Jan 2024 19:05:06
Yes this season in our grasp,

My point if we I’d players we don’t stop a three as that’s all we can utilise for Europe, if it’s five do it and bed them in for Scottish games.

24.) 29 Jan 2024 19:45:20
Always good to plan ahead, but this season is up for grabs.

25.) 29 Jan 2024 20:59:12
The big 3. ?.

26.) 29 Jan 2024 22:45:37
True storm but mcausland also domestically trained out of the signing it’s I think Cortes most likely to miss out.

27.) 30 Jan 2024 00:16:04
John I agree but think most of us just debating with signings that are known about or likely who would make squad can all change in a heartbeat if we sign more.

28.) 30 Jan 2024 06:00:00
Stevie g2 nobody is saying we shouldn’t be planning ahead we are just speculating who gets the 3 slots.

08 Jan 2024 21:04:53
Evening gents. My older brother has been bombarding me the day with messages saying that a signing is imminent and that we have press booked for tomorrow?

Any of our usual boys on here know anything? ?.

PeterHuistria44

1.) 08 Jan 2024 22:25:23
Not saying I don't believe your brother but with no player really been rumoured to come in I don't think there will be, unless the club has done an amazing job at hiding the signing.
The last time a signing was made that I wasn't aware that was going to happen was Cedric itten.

2.) 08 Jan 2024 22:30:05
If there was press booked we’d know about it. Also the squad are away to Spain tomorrow I’m pretty sure.

3.) 08 Jan 2024 22:33:40
Cheers boys. Aye sounds like he's at it haha.

4.) 09 Jan 2024 06:28:06
Has PC got a presser arranged before they depart for Spain?

28 Dec 2023 19:20:03
Evening one and all. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Silva signed until the summer, exciting signing. John, copeland TT or any of the regulars in the know is there any others lined up?

PeterHuistria44

1.) 28 Dec 2023 19:42:41
Peter yes, three in, several out, few away on loan.

2.) 28 Dec 2023 19:46:11
Bit of chat starting about Armstrong from Killie, think he would be a decent signing.

3.) 28 Dec 2023 19:59:52
Cheers lads. Exciting to be a bear again.

4.) 28 Dec 2023 20:52:32
Is armstrong any better than what we have?

5.) 28 Dec 2023 21:21:12
Armstrong looks decent but could be another Jones/ Wright - not sure he’s good enough for us but I’ll trust PC.

6.) 28 Dec 2023 21:33:36
Armstrong would b a good signing great player.

7.) 28 Dec 2023 22:16:43
I like the lad Armstrong.
We definitely should be trying to bring on the best players in this league. Far too many times we look further afield and we have no idea if players are going to be able to play in Scottish football. As rangers fans, we need to stop turning our nose up at Scottish based players too.
Doug, Ferguson, shanklands, Nisbet to name a. few deemed not good enough by most.

8.) 28 Dec 2023 23:10:51
Very few have said Shankland isn’t good enough most are saying get him.

9.) 28 Dec 2023 23:50:35
Will we actually get 3 in John? Seem to recall you saying 3 in before and we got hee haw.

10.) 29 Dec 2023 09:33:55
Bluebell can u advise me what window we never signed any one.
Your contribution add zero to the site.

11.) 29 Dec 2023 13:13:03
I can’t see us forking out a lot of money January tends to be loans or projects.

15 Oct 2023 14:50:25
Van der Hayden to be assistant I'm hearing. Copland have u heard this?

PeterHuistria44

1.) 15 Oct 2023 16:28:20
Press have already confirmed.

2.) 16 Oct 2023 08:00:49
I don't read mainstream press fife, but I'm guessing I'll believe that then no smoke without fire and all that.

3.) 16 Oct 2023 13:51:52
Peter wise move mate. I once got told should not be on here as I read Scotsman and Telegraph.

01 Sep 2023 11:02:31
Morning gentlemen. I'm told that there will be no incomings today. has anyone else heard the same?

I know a few boys on here posted during the week that there was a direct straits themed meeting happening yesterday? Anyone have any info?

PeterHuistria44

1.) 01 Sep 2023 11:42:42
Peter I am not sure what you mean by that. Was it some kind of crisis meeting and who would be in attendance.

2.) 01 Sep 2023 11:45:55
Chris Jack told you…. You mean.

3.) 01 Sep 2023 18:41:01
Window will still be open for free transfers if we need back up players I think we've let Beale piss away too much in fees already people will say books balance but they won't if said new signings are playing ?.

4.) 01 Sep 2023 18:43:06
Also from what Beale has done so far and players signed I'm really struggling to see why lammers was even signed

I like the big guy don't get me wrong but if it's to be

Cantwell raskin cifuentes and one of either jackpr lundstrum I really can't see were he fits or plays a lot

Personally i'd give him a go at CF ahead of dessers to see how he does has all the attributes if he can add goals.

5.) 01 Sep 2023 19:24:43
Morelos will still be available after the window closes, maybe he would give us some threat up front in Europe .

Having watched the game back, a few things that I would like to comment. Big Goldsons demeanour in the press conference before the game had me feeling uneasy he came across really passive and almost crestfallen? Didn't bode well for the game. I thought his positional sense was lacking especially during the first half, I agree the conditions we played in ie wind and stuff made it difficult and it showed for them in the second half.

I think PC got it wrong and he realised. I read with interest the comments about Dessers however in my opinion he worked his backside off and deserved a goal. the three that was tasked with servicing him were poor in the first half and he looked much better with sima wee Rabbie and Cantwell around him.

In the end we won the second half 3-1 however we shouldn't be and can't be giving them a headstart certainly not at the business end of a season. the team middle to front that ended the game has to be who we go with for the remainder of the season. The defence could be shaken up however I genuinely don't know of that's a good idea this close to the end? We will wait and see. its all to play for still and it goes on to the Dundee game now. 6-7 Cup finals now lads. sleeves rolled up chest out and chase it down.

PeterHuistria44

1.) 08 Apr 2024 11:45:44
Crestfallen must be the first aff heard this one, you seen a Tav press lol must be a English thing, Mon the rangers where winning this yassss.

2.) 08 Apr 2024 12:04:43
Hi here we, aye mate I'd use that adjective crestfallen. In my opinion the lack of engagement the down demeanour lack of eye contact it just worried me before a huge home old firm game.

Still in our hands.

3.) 08 Apr 2024 13:31:50
Folks, what's your take on Cantwell, he didn't do much when he came on yesterday, and again got involved at the end of the game in a confrontation. He needs to do his talking on the field not on Social Media, good player but too many side issues for me.

4.) 08 Apr 2024 21:00:43
portger23 - I'd take the money for Cantwell. I wasn't even keen on him playing on Sunday.

15 Feb 2024 10:46:58
understand the frustration given the dominance but can we all appreciate the football? The desire? The 3 points are in the bag and we go again. The games left are all cup finals and we have the momentum boys. The play was amazing last night. And the fans are very very important from here on in. We are on the most upwards of trajectories. All in our hands from here on in. I think the momentum is more important than goal difference in my opinion. Genuinely feel something special is being built at Ibrox.

PeterHuistria44

1.) 15 Feb 2024 11:22:34
Best football we've played at times for a long long time! Almost all the players are gaining confidence at the same time too.

2.) 15 Feb 2024 11:34:30
Disappointed not win by more and the goal but by f*£# we played some great stuff last night. That's what I pay my money to see. Justvwish the fans would have a bit more patience and understanding but we are Rangers fans after all. ?????.

3.) 15 Feb 2024 11:38:15
That was the most pleasing aspect, PH44.
We created chances the full game. Desire etc was first class.
It was a strange game. Visually and statistically we blew them away but it was still anxious at times!
And most importantly the 3 points are in the bag.

4.) 15 Feb 2024 11:39:50
The reaction from some people I’ve seen on social media is absolutely ridiculous. We battered Ross county and people are moaning, ok we didn’t go top but it wasn’t for the lack of trying. I think the fans were poor last night they put way more pressure on the team than there needs to be and I think it could cost us going forward. Dunno why we need to find a negative in everything let’s just enjoy the good performance and if you can’t do that get a bit of perspective by thinking how we all felt during the end of the Beale era.

5.) 15 Feb 2024 11:40:20
First half against aberdeen and other than 10 minutes after their goal last night is up there with some of the most entertaining football we have played in a long time. Creating so many shooting opportunities against a low block is night and day to the struggles the last few years of breaking them down.

That must be fake news, Peter.
Celtic fans, managers and players ( also ex ) don't do that sort of thing???.

2.) 05 jan 2024 12:17:29
i remember that well, david hay was a very bitter man, always was.

3.) 05 Jan 2024 12:56:54
MpH "holier than thou" ?

TT a lot of them are mate. They always will be. Hugh Dallas being attacked, forcing refs on strike etc funny how short memories are.

4.) 05 Jan 2024 14:10:52
Exactly. Ignore the noise coming from anyone else. Rangers are entitled to ask what ever they want and there is evidence to show that all clubs are the same. It’s about time we start flexing our muscle as Scottish football has been shown to be even more mediocre when we are not at the top table.

5.) 05 Jan 2024 14:26:18
They no longer need to do that. Load the sfa and the league with employees and associates of celtic and their owners ????.

6.) 05 Jan 2024 15:31:19
Did they not do something similar with Dallas after coin thing.

7.) 05 Jan 2024 16:54:58
Tom, I remember being close to the dugouts and Hay during the 1986 League Cup Final (Davie Cooper scored the winning goal via a pen), and he was going absolutely mental when the ref (Davie Syme I think it was) sent one of his players off by mistake (Tony somebody - cannot remember his name) .

I think Syme thought the player had slapped him on the back of the head when in fact he was hit by something thrown from the crowd. Well Hay went full tonto and was close to punching Syme's lights out until he reversed the decision when he realised what had happened. Don't know if Souness and Hay didn't like each other or whatever, but Hay was really the sorest of losers at the end, barely managing to shake any Rangers hand before disappearing up the tunnel. Never liked Hay and always felt he had that bitterness in him.

On a side note, this was the game where Mo Johnston was sent off after a set to with Stuart Munro. I saw Johnston plant the head on Munro and then do the sign of the cross after being sent off. The place went mental with guys next to me having to be prevented from going after him. Little did we know Mo was going to be joining us a couple of years later. A great day was had by all (well all the bears at least! ), even while running a gauntlet of angry celtic fans on our way to the train station. I'm still here to tell the tale, thank God.

8.) 05 Jan 2024 20:45:15
Seeker the player was Shepard. Apparently became a fireman.

9.) 05 Jan 2024 21:30:55
That's right, thanks John ?.

10.) 05 Jan 2024 21:32:42
As much I feel Collum was incompetent, we need to be careful. We have had a few dodgy penalties this season ourselves. What happens if all the smaller teams start asking for VAR communications everytime we get a 50/50 penalty call?

03 Jan 2024 20:37:26
Rangers FC today met with Scottish FA officials to discuss the VAR handball call and subsequent miscommunications from Saturday’s Old Firm match.

"From the meeting, there was an overriding consensus the VAR decision of no handball was incorrect.

“Having listened to the audio, there is no mention of a potential offside at the time of the handball decision.

Shocking.

PeterHuistria44

1.) 03 Jan 2024 21:25:03
No mention of offside because the pen was given they didn’t need to check for offside etc…. If they had given the pen then it would have been checked.

2.) 03 Jan 2024 22:01:20
Your missing the point, Gollum didn’t know about any offside, did we see any coverage of offside other than still photos!? Point is he seen a blatant handball and Tryed to cheat and rush the game to restart. Some of the decisions where ridiculous in a game of this magnitude this game of small margins we where robbed again by referring decisions that’s 6points in 2 old firms through dodgy refereeing.

3.) 03 Jan 2024 22:18:16
Stormtrooper have a look at IFAB rules this will clear the offside up they state in passage of play regarding sima states he could not have been deemed offside have a look collum. Cheated.

4.) 03 Jan 2024 22:20:26
Storm one word "corrupt" simple ?.

5.) 03 Jan 2024 22:27:52
If the pen was given and then retracted on review nobody would complain. But it was ruled NOT a handball.

6.) 03 jan 2024 22:38:38
once again, missing the point , offside doesn't matter, they have accepted it was wrong, collum watched a clear and undeniable handball while a celtic player clearly flicks the ball out, then watches again and again

and says “ no penalty, , that's the point, then 30 minss later they say offside, why?

7.) 03 Jan 2024 23:02:33
Once again I ain’t missing the point TT as I have a day off. Given the pen would not have helped us.

Bobby if they had given the pen the passage of play would have been checked and offside given.

Coops that’s 5 words ?.

8.) 04 Jan 2024 06:02:53
Storm you kinda are missing the point

Although you can be considered correct in the overall assessment the issue is Collin and others didn’t even look at offside or know it was offside so for him to look at that double handball and consider it to not be a penalty screams bias or complete incompetence and that’s the point.

If sima was inside you wouldn’t be making the same argument and that’s also kinda the point.

9.) 04 Jan 2024 09:07:51
The point isn't whether it helps us or not. The point is he said no to a handball WITHOUT knowing there was an offside. It also to do with his integrity as, if this is happening regularly in games, and not just ours, then he isn't competent to do his job. I get it storm your at a point of the argument were you don't want to look as if your backing down. But at the end of the day it's been proven. Collum is a bellend.

10.) 04 Jan 2024 09:23:16
Storm gains the world as usual.

No, I’m right?.

11.) 04 Jan 2024 10:49:08
I know what the point is you can’t change Collum mind that he thought it wasn’t a pen . Everyone bar him knows it was a pen but he didn’t.

30 Dec 2023 16:09:53
Look I know I'm going to be castrated for this, but I genuinely don't care. How many times leading up to an old firm game do ex Celtic players come out with the rhetoric "penalty to rangers" how many media outlets are going to give this rhetoric oxygen? And how many times is it going to affect the performance of officials officiating the old firm game? Its very frustrating.

Were we good enough second half? Probably not. Was that a penalty and a sending off? Absolutely. Everybody laughs at the "penalty to rangers" line but its not funny. they know EXACTLY what they're doing and it's working. We were denied several key decisions on the last few old firm games and it's starting to do my nut in.

As I said were they the better team over all today? Aye sure. But in the spirit of honesty then at least two of their players should have been sent off and we should've had a penalty.

We will follow on. ???.

PeterHuistria44

1.) 30 Dec 2023 16:45:23
Rangers fans need to stop using it as patter because the media are using it against us other than that, we were lack luster.

2.) 30 Dec 2023 16:54:32
Really starting to rip my knitting Raskin. You are right we need to stop it as "banter" because its seriously an issue. I seem to remember the old adage "sporting integrity" as I said I know ill come across as a "bitter rangers man" but it's plain and obvious to see. We need to be challenging this rhetoric we really do.

3.) 30 Dec 2023 17:06:22
3 game changing decisions in their favour. Never mind the offside call that was never in question. It was a penalty or not. And deemed not laughably.

4.) 30 dec 2023 17:25:58
it was offside, but it took 25 mins to clarify that, but other non 2nd yellows were debateable, , ultimately

we failed because we have at least 5 players who aren't better than theirs.

5.) 30 Dec 2023 17:37:21
It wasn’t a pen tho it was offside.

6.) 30 Dec 2023 17:38:13
Big dado how can it be a pen if it’s offside ????.

7.) 30 Dec 2023 17:47:16
If it was offside why a goalkick they ****ed up big time.

8.) 30 dec 2023 18:25:27
they gave the goal kick to allow the game to carry on. giving a free kick would have made no difference whatsoever.

think about it, they allowed play to continue while they checked, no point in bringing it back to say free kick to Celtic was there.

Absolutely spot on MPH. It was horrible up there today. It's the same culprits standing off failing to react. But we have to we must dust ourselves down. We have to find a performance for each and every game as we are running out of games. I've seen other posters complain about lack of striker brought in, in January and I echo those sentiments. All to play for.

Hi here we, aye mate I'd use that adjective crestfallen. In my opinion the lack of engagement the down demeanour lack of eye contact it just worried me before a huge home old firm game.

Still in our hands.
