Listen guys I know what some are thinking but I always try to look at the big picture. I want all Scottish clubs to perform well in Europe. Ups the profile of our game. This in turn allows us to buy better players and when we win the league increases our chances of qualifying for the group stages of the CL, which is what we all want.
I may be wrong but from what I'm led to believe. The individual co eff points only determines if your seeded in individual rounds. However the general co eff point determines how many qualitiers that we need to play.

I think some miss Stewartyblues point. I too would rather see rangers progress in europe because it raises the profile of Scottish football therefore increasing revenue both domestically and abroad. And more importantly if you are occupied in Europe there is less chance of you winning the league lol.

I think with the colour blue used, as shorts and socks it would be class. Totally underwhelming strips this season as for most seasons. Hummel to be fair are slightly better. Lack of imagination.

Best away kit I can honestly remember and was my personal favourite was the black/ grey with blue pin stripes that we had the year we went to Uefa cup final partly because it was my lucky stop the team won every match I wore it but unfortunately I was that desperate to get back into the centre of Manchester on the day of the match I forgot to change out of my blue home top and unfortunately we lost! So blame me for that lol.

Big statement John25,to say that stephen kelly is a better prospect than what barry ferguson was. I watched a young barry ferguson playing in our youth teams and breaking through into our first team. I had the privilege of watching a young barry ferguson, getting on at tynecastle as a young teenager,
while walter smith was the manager and you could see then that he was going to be a terrific midfielder.
I've seen young kelly playing and he's a good young player, but IMO nowhere near as good as what baz was at the same ages. Just my opinion mate, just as you have your opinion.
Barry ferguson was the best homegrown midfielder to come through our academy since ian durrant.

SGL as growing up with Barry in Bellshill and playing footie with him since toddlers I can assure you first hand that the lad Kelly is just as good a player at this age as what Barry was! Iâd probably say Kelly is a more direct midfielder than Barry who was more the playmaker! I watch a lot of reserve and unders games as my best mate has his lad there whoâs 12 and if this boy comes through the ranks heâll be insane!

Kelly is excellent sg loyal. Fergie hardly put ball in net.
I like many others followed a young Ferguson and was at tynecastle too.
Many top euro clubs keeping an eye on Kelly, he needs to go out on loan to be tested at a higher level.
His goals per game ratio is amazing and dwarfs Fergie.

I'm not saying you're wrong or disagreeing with you John25, regarding stephen kelly, because i rate the young man myself. I just don't think IMO, that he's better than baz was, at the same ages mate.

Well, if any 4-0 victory away in Europe via being disjointed, long may it continue. I trust SG to get most things right, a few complained about the standard of our recruits, I personally think they're better than we've had for years and they will be productive. Our players all done a good, professional job against st. joseph's this afternoon, but the 2 who stood out for me were ojo and steven davis. Davo was our deep lying playmaker that dictated everything and ojo looks quality, with his pace,
power and directness. He looks a player alright!

Even at the tender age of 34 years old davo is still going to be a very important player for us, this season. The guy is still a terrific midfielder and tremendous professional, to have about our place.

Spot on Frustrated
Right from the off you could see how he is a class above for me.
Davis, Kamara and Ojo are the three quality players we have. Aribo has potential to join them at that level. Jack was solid, he frustrates me though as I think he stays in 4th gear. Jack could do more, a lot more I mean that in a positive way. I must say if Kent was to come back having him and Ojo could be exciting. Jones just isnât it for me, I hope he proves me wrong.

Straight forward after a slow start. Once again another loan looks a cut above in Ojo.
Kamara was in 2nd gear as was most to be fair. Jones a bit wasteful for me.

I understand it's early in the squads preparation, but what I've seen so far. Has Jordan Jones got a left foot? he's playing on the left but turns inside everytime. BarĂŽsĂŽc should not be anywhere near the 1st team, his lack of passion shows as it did last season. We've missed Candeias and his partnership with Tav, why is BarĂŽsĂŽc taking corners on the right hand of the pitch? To me the team looks disjointed, as I said, down that left hand side there seems to be no options of attack with BarĂŽsĂŽc and Jones looking to turn back and play a square ball.

Aw come on, I've made an observation, if you disagree then try and construct a sentence. My opening sentence was I understand it's early, Jones never crossed a ball with his left foot the entire time he was on the park. BarĂŽsĂŽc did come onto a decent game with the delivery but it looks an area of the parks against better opposition, where we'd struggle. Ojo looks in a different league as does kamara and Davis. I thought Defoe looked a little of the pace, Morelos looks like he's had 2 weeks in KFC but so did boyd for years. I hope we can get Kent because I don't think Jones is the answer.

Just to confirm, my initial comment was made at half time, if anyone wants to disagree that BarĂŽsĂŽc is a liability then please feel free to reply. Also, my comment about Jones, he has no left foot, but gets played on the left of the park. 2nd half tav took set pieces which produced 2 goals. If I'm going to get slated for pointing out facts then what's the point. Overall a good performance, as I said early days, but for me Jordan Jones and BarĂŽsĂŽc are not Rangers class.

I knew I'd take some stick after posting my initial post just after half time lol, BarĂŽsĂŽc did play well second half, produced a decent ball for Jack and his free kick was quality, but my view stays the same, he looks laboured going forward, looks for the back pass everytime and doesn't seem to have any understanding with Jones.

Candieas isn't good enough. He started to get phased out tail end last season. If jones turns out poor Jamie murphy will slot in. Candieas can't cross the road. Ojo will play right. Candyman can slot in if injuries etc.

What Bryan isnât understanding here is the tactics that we are deploying. As mentioned above, look at the way Liverpool set up (and if you havenât noticed by now, surprise surprise, Gerrard is using the same set up) they play with a 433 rather than 451. The two supporting forwards play as inside left and right and as mentioned the one on the right is left footed, the one on the left, right footed. The idea is when in possession they drive inwards to either help over load the oppositions centre backs, shoot with their stronger foot, or draw the fullback in, thus creating space for our overlapping fullbacks.
Previously under warburton and Pedro we played 451 with wingers who went wide and threw deep crosses in to our loan striker which were easily dealt with by opposition centre backs. It is clear this is what Gerrard has been working towards. By the end of last season it was working well. This also allows us to play with 3 more solid midfielders and negates the need for an attacking midfielder to support the loan striker as much. This in turn makes us more solid in defence and hopefully will stop us leaking silly goals. Itâs the exact tactics Liverpool use. and they just won the champions league doing so!
