Hi

The way Rangers have been playing this season, many football scouts have visited Ibrox to check out the whole team, and no wonder with Gerrard at the helm.

Gerrard has been amazing since joining Rangers and his management skills have been noticed worldwide.

It will be hard to keep most of our players together, as they are in big demand but Gerrard will soon be in bigger demand the way he is going.

07 Jan 2020 23:25:59
I have to agree, especially if we happen to win the league.
The eyes of the world are watching our manager and sadly success will not go unnoticed. Good thing is he has a history of being loyal to something he loves, so maybe he now feels he is also one of us.
Well done the board for appointing him, right out the Blue, like Souness!

07 Jan 2020 23:58:43
I'd say amazing is a bit strong. He will be amazing when we win trophies. he's been a great addition so far but and will be judged on silverware.

08 Jan 2020 00:17:41
Gerrard hasn't won a trophy yet mate!

08 Jan 2020 00:40:56
Grahammeggman, its a good job we've got s. g. On a long term contract, but the way s. g seems to. Be falling in love with our club, i think only the lure of liverpool will move him from ibrox.

08 Jan 2020 03:32:45
Gerrard won’t leave until Liverpool come calling. If he went elsewhere and struggled it could cost him the Liverpool job, whereas he knows here his is in with a shot of trophies and European football every season.

08 Jan 2020 05:46:58
New 2 this page Jason brown I think the same it would be good if we get 5 years of Stevie g services just think were we could be then. Bring back the good all days. 4 now hope the team really dig hard the next 5 months good luck gers for 2020

08 Jan 2020 06:46:29
When gerrard does eventually move on and it will happen, ross wilson our technical director of football rates current dundee utd manager robbie neilson, very highly. that's coming from someone who knows brian rice the hamilton accies manager very well. Rice and wilson are seemingly very close from their time at falkirk. I did know that stewart robertson and some of our board members considered nielson before and rate him as a very good, young manager/ head coach. I wonder fellow bears?

08 Jan 2020 09:10:47
Neilson would be a massive disappointment after SG coop.

08 Jan 2020 10:20:18
I think Neilson is a good manager and has done well at most clubs. It would be like going from Brendan Rodgers to Neil Lennon though lol.

08 Jan 2020 11:38:47
Lets be honest here mrgrumpy. Once gerrard does eventually move on, our next manager/ head coach, in all probability, will be a step down in stature anyway!

08 Jan 2020 12:09:21
SGL I’d stop investing in corporate packages etc. I’m told Defoe is in the plan going forward.
Bringing in Neilson is like selling Morelos and bringing in shankland.

08 Jan 2020 12:13:21
I wouldn't touch nielson with a bargepole. The guy has no class what so ever and isint any where near the standard we need.

08 Jan 2020 13:42:27
John25, yip matey, that's also the rumour i heard a while back, about defoe being our next manager. we've got to remember also that g. d is well thought of in the football world, like stevie g.

08 Jan 2020 13:47:02
SGL I know Brian Rice pretty well. As I stayed in Whitburn for a good few years before Emigrating to Australia, I really hope he does well at Hamilton. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍😎.

08 Jan 2020 15:53:03
I think we’ve learned that someone like Stevie G who comes from an incredibly professional background and has a certain level of expectation of both himself and others, that filters down to the team. It’s the same with Lampard at Chelsea. So I think rather than go for some older manager who has had his knocks we should follow the same model. I wouldn’t be unhappy with Defoe. Also, I know he’s a Tim apparently but Darren Fletcher speaks very intelligently as a pundit and grew up with those high standards at Man U.

09 Jan 2020 18:38:51
Theswagman, the main reason i think it will be defoe is he is already hear, he is obviously watching and learning, & playing, so by the time s. g. Moves on g. d. will have been at ibrox for years, i think maybe at the end of next season defoe will be more involved, maybe with the youngsters, but right now i recon he is serving his apprenttiship.

10 Jan 2020 16:36:34
SGL I've known Robbie since he was a child and I also coached him. He's an absolute gentleman and so is his dad Ian, but he will not manage Rangers, the club who snubbed him when he was just 16 after spending 6 years in the system. It took a Rangers scout to get him to Hearts where he went on to become a good pro. He is from Mount Vernon and was brought up a Rangers fan, but what we did to him soured him for good. I also believe he has never met Ross Wilson and has no knowledge of ever having been 'considered' for the Rangers job.

Aye Coldo. the voice of reason!

07 Jan 2020 11:39:56
Does anyone think that banning a player that is injured is a pointless exercise. Imo the ban should only come into affect, once the player is avail for selection.

07 Jan 2020 13:21:27
Stewart nonsense,

07 Jan 2020 14:10:54
SB. What did you expect coming from the SFA establishment 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍😎.

07 Jan 2020 14:27:45
It's ridiculous. It's meant to be a punishment.

07 Jan 2020 14:27:45
Then clubs could just claim a player isn't injured and is available thus meaning the ban would be in effect even though they are injured?

07 Jan 2020 14:30:25
John25 why is it nonsense?

He has a point - ban a player who is injured is pointless
As he is not available for selection anyway

If it’s a rangers player and there Injured and has a ban then I’ll side with you and say nonsense 😂😂😂.

07 Jan 2020 15:46:29
Ive already posted earlier a reply to Pacman on the celtic posts page saying that it's pointless banning any injured player.

The reason I think Christie got a ban anyway is because I believe Morelos will get a ban for his cut thoat gesture and they are trying to convince us that they are not biased against Gers .

I honestly believe like many others do that the panel is biased against Rangers.

07 Jan 2020 16:02:26
The Christie 'ban' is a farce. A ban is supposed to prevent a player from taking part in a match. The fact that he is injured should be taken into account. If a player is injured he can't take part in a match anyway. Of course this all relies upon honesty and integrity, something the SFA, SPL and the unwashed don't possess.

07 Jan 2020 16:24:23
Doiger, I made exactly the same point before on this case and was told to read the rules, the rules are ridiculous in that case, I agree with you. As regards the Morelos incident, there is no conclusive evidence, whereas, the nutcracker is caught on camera in an assault on our player.

07 Jan 2020 17:02:27
The sting o funny how we don’t worry when we get injured player banned. Some on here becoming more paranoid than them.

07 Jan 2020 17:04:05
Irvger it’s us ie the clubs who determine the rules.

07 Jan 2020 17:12:09
Thestigno Jordan jones two game ban for red against Celtic, some on here said did not matter as he was out injured for couple of months.

07 Jan 2020 17:26:05
Kyle has hit the nail on the head. Clubs would just lie about whether a player was injured. Impossible to police I’m afraid.

07 Jan 2020 19:02:49
John25 Aye it's the clubs who make the rules so long as they agree wi the celtic suggestions.

07 Jan 2020 20:25:08
Sir Walter fair shout.

07 Jan 2020 22:01:26
John25 I thought you dropped a clanger but you were absolutely correct mate re the Jordan Jones incident fair play to you! ps enjoy the sun mate.

07 Jan 2020 22:49:21
John25, fair point, now go and enjoy yourself mate for a week in Dubai, enjoy.

08 Jan 2020 10:28:44
Will do irvger. U try keep the bears calm.

08 Jan 2020 23:12:58
Stewertyblue, i just read neil lennon thinks the s.f.a should lift christties ban, and apologise to chrisstie, honest.

07 Jan 2020 09:39:08
Read an interesting article by Steven Pressley. He talks up a 17 year old Jarrad Branthwaite of Carlise big time. He says a future England international defender without question. Carlisle want 800K and have just rejected an Everton bid. Sounds convincing.

07 Jan 2020 22:42:09
He's going to Everton, just sorting out a fee which will probably be decided by the FA - and any recommendation from Pressley is the kiss of death.
