All this talk about Tav being given a new contract is giving me the fear. Yes he has given us 10 years of service and been very highly paid for such poor returns in trophies. He has had his time and the amount of goals we concede down the right side of defence because he is not in position is appalling.
Is it too much to ask to get a RB that doesn't constantly get caught out of position and can just defend.

Your not allowed to criticise Tav because your not allowed to have an opinion if you don't rate him, it's tedious the amount of time this discussion happens on an ageing pro who done well in the past, but is on the slide imo opinion yes opinion and has been for a while, no matter who tries to blow smoke up his archie.

Can't see him getting a new contract mate, he's been done for the last 3 years or so.
He was a great servant who will be remembered fondly, but he does need to be remembered, can't do with watching him much longer.

indeed Fork, he should have moved years ago but our failing to bring in a replacement is the issue.
however its not his fault he can't recover from being out of position, its how we play. its the manager who decides if he should go forward or stay put.
but yes move on and get a new cover that can do as well or indeed better than him.

Should tav be no1 next season no is he good enough for back up over the next year or 2 yes we done the same with big balogun 2 times now I think we give tav another year at reduced terms.

U do realise it's team sport? Actually a squad sport. Tav is simply one of 11 or 1 of 25.
He can't claim to win trophies on he's own so he can't be blamed for a lack of them.
It's going a bad understanding of the game of football when people pick out one person to blame for a lack of success in a team.

Tav should have been replaced and hasn't.
However we have regressed so badly and replaced players who have left with worse quality than tav is probably our best performer, is still getting numbers better than our front 6 players.
He currently should get a new deal unfortunately, it's a sign of where we are.

Got to think Tav looks one of better players on stats this year
That just shows how bad we have been performing, not many of new signings have actually strenthened team.
Tav has been good servant over years, but time has caught up with him, just does not have ability to get back into position, should have left couple of years ago, but obviously no one was willing to pay him anything near what we do,
If he wants new contract is he willing to take substantial wage cut while not being automatic first choice.
(not sure i would if more money available else where)
