Although we've now appointed a new set piece coach in scott fry over this 2 week international break, i still thought we'd also have appointed the former Rangers player as part of Danny Rohl's backroom team, that's been touted continually ?I wonder if that's still going to be the case, or is it only going to be scott fry and that's it ?Do any of us think we'll now still definitely appoint a former Rangers player, to Danny Rohl's backroom team ?.

I just want a coach that's good at his role, not fussed who he played for.

A think its SD and there wating on seeing if Northern Ireland get 2 the world cup its the only thing a can think off mate. Also on the set peace coach how long do you think it will take before we see real progress.

The last I heard was that there were a number of roles that Rohl had identified, so expect to see a few announcements over the coming days / weeks / months.

Hear hear Sir WMcC, can't understand the need for an ex player. None of those currently here would understand what John Brown et al, were going on about.
We are not the same team and I would venture, not the same club as 20 or 30 years ago.
we need to build our new position in Scotland first, then Europe, only then can we start to build the name which made us fairly famous!
LONG way to go.

hi coops, hope your well ol son
i don't really care if we bring an ex ger in altho i know the more real fans you can have in your dressing room the better for the clubs morale and expectations.
my choice would def be big Duncan but i would be happy enough with doddsy, mcann or indeed Barry.
i think we could be surprised actually, anyway, i'm over the moon at how the future looks now after years of awful feelings of despair and destruction.
i for one fully support Thelwell, Stewart, Purdy, and the head coach.
i really like what i see ahead, change was always going to take time, but they are not messing about here.
this is real change.

Agree Bar. Get the best in class coach you can find who knows Scottish football. I don't care if he's played for Rangers.
20 Nov 2025 10:41:32
It will end up being Stevie Smith!
20 Nov 2025 10:58:40
Agreed Shakey, I believe it will be Smith as well mate.
20 Nov 2025 11:06:37
Just want best coaches, don't care if they are an ex Rangers or not.
20 Nov 2025 11:08:25
Ehl, read that in the papers as well, I believe a number have been excluded after meetings with Rohl, not compatible, salary for one would have made another higher paid than manager at Hibs, Hearts Aberdeen.
It's about the right mix, also told the board put a stop on one, interesting.
20 Nov 2025 11:36:49
No cheerleaders required.
The best available coach should be appointed.
If that's an Ex-Ger on merit, then fine.
20 Nov 2025 12:42:43
Like others I reckon it may be Stevie Smith. He is an ex Ranger who has won things at the club played for other Scottish clubs so he knows the league, has coaching experience and is keen to move upwards in his career. Why not do this and appoint someone else to take his place with the U19s, start a succession plan.
20 Nov 2025 16:45:45
John was it Barry Ferguson they put a stop on or perhaps Neil McCann for being outspoken against Thelwell.
20 Nov 2025 17:06:45
I'd like Smith. those calling for Duncan Ferguson need to give their heads à wobble. He wouldn't return to Ibrox given the treatment he got and has admitted he doesn't even look for our score!

Niether Stevie.
Fergie has zero chance.
Mcann also said he will be at World Cup June july. If ever in frame that rules him out for meb.
