Well I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend on the Ayrshire coast and hope to visit again very soon.
Contrary to the belief of some I do not have an ego I am just passionate about my beliefs and I am passionate about defending my friends.
I feel I have made many friends on this forum to which I thank the EDD's first and foremost for providing this retreat from daily life.
I may be a Norwegian who's heart is in his homeland and home city of Bergen but Rangers captured a place in my heart and that feeling runs deep.
I hope to introduce my son to the history of this institution and create generational support of this club.
But as the son of a Norwegian father and German mother please forgive me for not being raised as a ranger. If this makes me less of a supporter and just someone who will come and go then I accept that judgement.
I hope that we can look forward now and embrace the change that has been given to us. Change that has provided us with the opportunity to introduce this football club to future generations, on the pitch not just in the annals of history.
Skål.

Nobody's saying it makes you any less of a supporter if you're not born and bred in the Glasgow fishbowl. People have come to Rangers from all over the world for generations, and that's part of what makes the club so special.
What Shota said earlier about generational support really resonated with me. It made me think back to the stories my grandpa used to tell — how, as a boy in the late 1920s, he would sneak in to watch the games. He saw Rangers dominate in that era, winning leagues and cups, and he even witnessed the opening of the Main Stand in 1929/ 30.
My grandpa passed away in 2005, and while I can't remember every detail of his stories, I'll never forget how much he loved Rangers. He's the one who made me a supporter from a young age — first taking me to games, and later, as he got older, listening together on the radio or watching on TV. Rangers meant everything to him, and I honestly think his love for the club kept him going right up until he passed at 94 years old.
So Rangers is a club for anyone, everyone and every Rangers supporter is a part of our story and history.
The fans are the heartbeat that keeps the club alive ?.

Asa, from what I can see, you're a Ranger and not less of a supporter in my eyes.
Glad you enjoyed your weekend in Scotland my friend.
02 Sep 2025 23:07:50
Where in Ayrshire were you Asathor?
Ignore any of that noise mate folk are projecting their anger at our start onto everyone and everything so I wouldn't take it personally.
Whilst I don't speak for everyone I will say in my eyes it's not about everyone being born a Rangers man, some grow to love the club. Look at Balogun for example. Our club is infectious and I for one am happy to have you on board.

I was staying at Trump Turnberry my friend. My first time in the west coast and it feels very much like Norway. Very beautiful place and the treatment I received both at the hotel and at ibrox was outstanding.
03 Sep 2025 01:18:37
Dude. Your a Rangers supporter.
I just happened to be born one 64 years ago. I live in USA now. Born in Dennistoun Glasgow.
03 Sep 2025 06:25:10
Asathor, reading yours then stigs post about his grandpa it seems it's something that you are trying to create within your own family.
03 Sep 2025 07:03:52
It's weird it can be generational, but can be an affinity from a small seed planted, a worldly in to the top corner, a dropped shoulder, a defence splitting pass, a character that speaks volumes but says little, we are addicts guys accept it, when the slightest comment can cause a stramash (ooft, sorry archie moment?) then you know your in the right place, we are and always will be the people, accept it your hooked. ??.
03 Sep 2025 07:07:16
Hope you got to play the golf course, Asa.
03 Sep 2025 07:32:04
A fantastic venue to stay aaa. Ignore the noise u r a blur nose.
03 Sep 2025 07:32:04
Asa you can't be one of us if your spelling and grammar continues to be perfect. You will never be accepted haha. Not bad for someone who can probably speak several languages.
03 Sep 2025 07:33:07
Trump Turneberry looks very Grand. Never been in the hotel, looks lovely. Been around the lighthouse, you can stay there for a pretty penny a night I think.
As others say Rangers is for everyone. My dad was a big Rangers supporter, that's what got me hooked. Remember the early 90s, going to my grans to watch the European Cup. We only had 1 tele, mum didn't like the football.
03 Sep 2025 08:24:46
Asa your post is disingenuous though and anyone who wants to see why should read the original thread on discussion pages.
the thread started by you asking a poster (the wrong poster) what his circle of friends brought to the party apart from whining; by circle of friends you meant fans or at least fans like that poster. that poster IMO is a good man and a good poster and like us all fellow Gers fans.
there was no questioning of you as a Rangers fan but more an explanation after the circle of friends comment of the love generational fans felt for the club and that the fans would be here after the money men leave.
we are all fans and all equal here whether we are millionaires or just normal Joes. that was the point being made and you are an intelligent man so suspect you know that so surprised to an extent you would make the claim you aren't seen as a fan or a lesser one.
03 Sep 2025 09:00:38
Nothing disingenuous about your post Asa.
Ally turnberry does a fantastic brunch, it is worth it for an occasion, food is absolutely outstanding
Worth a wee look.
03 Sep 2025 09:18:37
Hope you visited my home town of Girvan Asa. Love Ayrshire.
03 Sep 2025 09:48:58
No need to justify yourself ASA.
Always read your posts with interest.
As you will have gathered not easy being a blue nose especially from the noise within.
03 Sep 2025 09:57:26
I don't care what your background is, where your from or what your beliefs are. That is all irrelevant.
You're a Rangers man, that's all that matters to me.
Come to Northern Ireland next time, Asa.
03 Sep 2025 10:01:37
Although Scottish, I have never lived anywhere other than the East Coast. My love for Rangers came from my dad, I genuinely don't know where his love of the team came from as I never knew my granddad.
Asathor - you are one of the people, you are one of us and will be accepted as such by us all. I'm not hinting at a ticket for the game in Norway, but if one is available ;)
03 Sep 2025 10:42:59
So Asa was a fan since Charlie Miller played for Brann, no other connection, gets bitten and looks at Rangers, begins to follow them, at this point no investment, no less a fan than others who have found a similar path, he happens to be wealthy and invested in our club, see nothing wrong with that, entitled to voice his thoughts as are we all. Thanks for your investment mate??.
03 Sep 2025 11:27:50
Waltersguitar, nice wee place Girvan.
Like the wee amusement arcade with the kids. Better when the pool is back open.
03 Sep 2025 11:43:59
Angus was absolutely correct on the disingenuous part, you managed to do what I thought you would Asa with your post and have somewhat achieved your goal of changing the narrative to suit yourself and gather sympathy.
never once did I question you being a supporter or your right to be one, you attacked either myself or forever, don't know who exactly you meant and where I am from you defend yourself if provoked. I stated that my family are Glaswegian, and generational supporters, that's what we bring to the table you questioned. We don't have money to invest or have insider information .
I never once stated that you can't be a supporter from anywhere else, we have support from all corners of the U.K., Europe, americas, Asia etc.
my problem initially was your unwavering support for the owners because you keep telling us you are part of this (circle) .
I for one will hold judgment on them until I see trophies being lifted high. Everyone should be accountable. If you are going to post information on the inner workings of the club you must be prepared to be questioned on it. I for one find much of it dubious, that's my prerogative.
You state its opinion but it doesn't always come across as this, and there is a sniff of arrogance from my perspective to a lot of what you say.
I do not understand why the owners would allow you to post information I would deem sensitive in a lot cases. That doesn't strike me as something the consummate professionals you keep saying they are would do.
I will no doubt be attacked on this post, but I have big Baws, and will take any forthcoming on my double chin.
Just setting the record straight.
03 Sep 2025 12:04:01
Great posts John and fork. Asa ignore the noise mate one of the best posters on here.
I have just read the said posts and there was not one word disingenuous about it mate.
Angus ?♂️ head wobble.
03 Sep 2025 12:13:29
Started supporting Rangers just like my mate.
Remember going to my first game v Falkirk at Brockville in the days of Willie Henderson and Co.
03 Sep 2025 13:51:33
Henderson was a great wee player.
03 Sep 2025 12:54:41
It doesn't matter where in the world you come from, As long as you support Rangers Football Club that's good enough for me. ?????????.
03 Sep 2025 13:13:30
Asa just like you're a Rangers fan as much as anyone else, stop asking Rangers fans what they bring to a Rangers forum. It's not a competition, we are all equal on here, no matter what bits of info we get or how much money we claim to have.
03 Sep 2025 13:17:22
If anything ASAP makes you more of a supporter in my opinion. Someone outwith the uk supporting gers then the club obviously close to your heart buddy.
03 Sep 2025 13:29:01
Yes Copland. Mine was v Third Lanark circa 1962 ish.
