Very interesting comments from neil mccann regarding raskin.
01 Sep 2025 08:13:04
I missed it. What did he say?
01 Sep 2025 08:18:26
Correct rusty on how you deal with him as every player is different but Martin is too clueless to understand that.
01 Sep 2025 08:25:19
Repeating what BF said. He questions a lot of what he's been asked to do. Just like more or less everyone on this site when BF and then RM has come out with some impressive styles of play and formations.
This a drive of negativity, BF got the better version of Raskin playing. Can't RM manage Raskin the same?
The in the knows mentioned issues with other senior players regarding treatment of Nsiala, Raskin isn't the only one to challenge RM and I pray he's not the only one to question his tactics and style.

That's why the team are screaming out for a new Sheriff, someone that can keep the other players in check when needed. New Managers should always choose their own Captain, he's there to make the Managers plan work or bridge the gap from players to Manager.

Care to enlighten us mate?
01 Sep 2025 09:53:32
Correct sollof its because Martin is a poor man manager obviously. Nothing wrong with asking and ti understand it people do this every day in normal jobs. I know I do.
01 Sep 2025 09:55:52
It's Martin that should be going, not Raskin and Dessers.
01 Sep 2025 09:37:13
Absolutely Rusty. Said yesterday if a group of pundits can sit him down despite any issues and get him playing brilliantly and into Belgium starting team why can't Martin? No deal as yet so he might have to do something if he can't get him out.

I agree it was very telling. I got the impression that Raskin was frustrated with the standard around him and he was wanting to take more ownership of making things happen during a game. He didn't seem to want to play the system. If we're not building a team around that / him then it's best to sell and back a tidy profit for the next manager.

Nothing new really - Barry said all the same stuff in a couple interviews, saying he butted heads with Nico on tactics etc. He's not afraid to speak his mind, but needs to understand there's a time and place by the sound of it, no matter how good you are (or think you are), it's called respect.
01 Sep 2025 09:40:44
"I've had a few heated chats with Nico, aye. He's got his views on how we should play, and I've got mine. But I'd rather have a player who cares enough to argue than one who stays quiet and goes through the motions. "
100% how it should be handled correctly - not how RM has dealt with it publicly.
01 Sep 2025 10:19:05
Berry was probably able to handle Raskin better as he seemed to be a very similar character.
01 Sep 2025 10:20:14
Raskin is our best player, he should have put his arm around him, made him captain, gave him an extension, told him to have a season to remember, go to the World Cup on a high and promise if the big boys came in for him after next summer we wouldn't stand in his way. That way we could have £25 million plus player on our hands, now if it's to be believed he's off for what I expect a seriously reduced fee.
Terrible man management and terrible business if this pans out. Our so called manager is very proficient in muddying the waters with players he wants out, watch Hamza move again for serious bucks and we will be looking back as usual saying we right fecked than one up.
01 Sep 2025 10:28:08
Have a team full of yes men and we have seen what happens.
01 Sep 2025 10:33:46
Mark, I like Dessers but he should be going . The fee we're getting at his age shouldn't be sniffed at for a guy who was booed off just over a year ago. Good record of course, but we need better than him.
01 Sep 2025 10:42:59
Amo he also said once you sit down and explain it to him he got and was a great player for us.
01 Sep 2025 10:52:40
Delia must have been clueless as well, Raskin has previous for this.
01 Sep 2025 10:53:36
Some are talking like they know anything about the situation.
01 Sep 2025 11:32:56
Exactly storm, 100% agree with the way it was dealt with in that situation, as I said.
01 Sep 2025 11:34:22
Mystar that's why we're listening to someone like Neil McCann who has directly worked with him and experienced getting the best of him, rather than just our own opinions. Someone who saw the culture that Martin blames so he can give a good insight into what's going on.
01 Sep 2025 12:03:08
Kaiser, Only my opinion, Raskin has wanted out from when the window opened, he done the same at Liege before we signed him, he can't be blamed for wanting out this league and he goes with my best wishes.
01 Sep 2025 12:18:25
Lots of fans treating Raskin like some sort of savour. He had 3/4 of a good season and the rest of the time hasn't offered much or has been injured. And even when he was playing well under Barry we were still losing games.
01 Sep 2025 12:47:22
Players hard to manage over the years. Ricksekn both fergies gattuso porcini gazza sterland butcher Robert's, the list is endless, that's why u need a manager not a head coach,
Sounds smith advocate mclesh, players would do anything for them.
01 Sep 2025 13:40:25
I don't particularly have a problem with him wanting to move on either, just how Martin has handled it because it probably going to cost us millions. It's not like he downed tools.
01 Sep 2025 14:14:00
RMs ego gets in the way. I couldn't imagine him being a good man manager before he came and it looks to be true.
