couple of things here--first of all a huge welcome to mr aribo aka joe from all the fans. secondly I would welcome skrtel in a heartbeat even if just for European away games and celtic . massive experience and the new lad edmondson would learn from a great. sometimes balance is all that's required.

Ok Obi Wan we had the ballance at the beginning of last season went ages without conceeding with Golson and Katic. We were scoring from set pieces too with Katic. Croatia had a crap u20 campaign but benkovic got dropped before the big man so they rate him and so should we.

Not entirely sure how pleased I am at the prospect of Skrtel signing. His CV is unquestionable surely but I'd rather get a younger lad in on par with the lad Edmondson. Goldson and Katic should definitely be given the nod for first pick. I think Skrtel signing will unsettle the defence a little bit like last year with Worrall.

What's your thoughts guys on a wee 2 mill bid up front for u Turnbull pay for his operation and rehab then loan him back to well for the season. Then pay them a 750k when loan ends. He has another good season at well his value will double. Would also have the dims in melt down. So Win win imo.
From what I'm hearing it's only a minor operation out for 10 weeks.

DK has stated that all the season ticket money will be made avail 10 million plus to SG. He also stated the sale of any players will be re invested into the team. So far we have only spent about a million plus maybe a couple of million in wages.

So McCoist stated rangers are bigger than newcastle and they have flipped in england. Well am sorry but we are a far far bigger club than newcastle will ever be. Tell me there trophy record? tell me there attendance records? The one and only thing they have over us is they have the lucky part of playing in england. that's it. When I go on holiday I i see rangers, celtic, barcelona, madrid, man utd, liverpool and chelsea tops. don't think ave ever see a newcastle top. The only reason rodgers went to leicester was money they are nothing compared to celtic or us. Just money and to me that does not make you a bigger club. Leicester fans couldn't fill celtic park. Newcastle wish they had our history and future.

I see Newcastle tops all the time when on holiday. They are hard to miss tbh. Do not think they are bigger than us, but they have a massive support. And I like the Geordies, they are good people.

I agree with you true blue. The geordies are terrific people and newcastle utd is a fantastic football club with a massive fanbase. Of course they're big but not bigger than the famous glasgow rangers!

There is no comparing alves to skrtal. Alves was more of a reading the game and positional sense centre half. Skrtel is more of a no nonsense hard tackling throw your body on line centre half that can bully centre forwards.
I recon he would be a great addition especially in Europe still only 34 so 2 good seasons left in him.
Also will help our younger CHs with his experience.
If he signs I would make him Captain.

As much as I like tav SGL he ain't no captain. I've have been lucky to have witness big butcher, gough Fergy and big Ammo. I have never once seen tav giving any of players stick when their performance ain't up to scratch. When we have been struggling in certain game he should be shouting and balling telling players to get their finger out. But that's not his nature. The only player I see shouting and gee our players up is shagger.
And because it's not your option doesn't mean its crap. We all have opinions and mine is Tav ain't no leader.

Reading this morning that martin skrtel to rangers might be happening after all. He's coming over to rangers for signing talks.
He's a free agent and at 34 years old would be a very good piece of business by us, IF we can agree personal terms. Easily another good 3 years in him, up here in scottish football.

Cooper it raises an interesting question though. Even if he takes a massive cut from the 60K he was on it'll still be a big wage for us and will mean he has to play starting 11. Where does that leave Katic an under 21 Croatian international and a highly rated Edmunson? We need a back up for them not a replacement.
