Interesting to hear earlier that we've been very impressed with a left sided centre half playing in the Serbian league and this is seen as a priority area for the summer.
Also a young left footed midfielder in France seems to have impressed the scouts.
So far there is interest in Proper, Dio, Raskin, McAusland, Dessers, Igamane and Danilo.
12 Apr 2025 20:15:58
I would try and hold on to Dio and Raskin for one more season before selling. If a suitable offer comes in for Danilo, Dessers, Mcausland, Proper then away they go. Igamane is a no go in my eyes, the boys still had a lot of developing to do.
12 Apr 2025 20:37:58
I would like to keep Raskin, Diomande and Igamane but if valuation is met then we would sell them all.
12 Apr 2025 20:51:07
AnThe names Ehl other than the Scot's based lads u mentions mate?
Interesting to see all 3 striker have interest. With Danilo injuries we should move him in if possible and makes sense: dessers not getting any younger but I like him for another years
Igamane will do himself better staying for ano it er year as the starting 9 imo. Then move.
Raskin will in all likelihood go, he's too good to rot away in Scotland tbh. Wish him all the best.
Dio s interesting one, he doesn't need mores me domestically atall. Looks a bit of a dud at times, for lack of a better word. Euro games and old firm ( last 3) he's looked outstanding so, does he stay and improve and we make a wee bit more money or does he ask to go to a country better auto his ability.
We're going to have to knock back offers as we can't sell 3 forwards 2 cm's 2 left backs a right back a centre back a keeper few 10s all who could have been staters.
12 Apr 2025 21:38:31
I get what you are saying young blue but there stock is high I would honestly sell all 3 could hopefully bring in 30million for all 3 some transfer kitty that.
12 Apr 2025 21:50:50
Excellent info EHL. Always great posts.
12 Apr 2025 22:01:21
Stevie g i'd normally agree
But if we are not willing to play igamane now as a forward over dessers i can't see him getting the position next year either
Why do we suck so bad at developing players.
12 Apr 2025 22:28:08
Had previously seen we had enquired about a left sided defender at Red Star Belgrade, Ebenezer Annan.
Could potentially be him.
Not heard any names regarding the midfielder playing in France.
Would love to see Danilo get a run of games injury free, I think he would do well for us. But if we can get our money back, we should take it.
12 Apr 2025 22:56:11
Stevie, wouldn't share any names I hear from within the club - only share names I've heard from elsewhere.
12 Apr 2025 23:33:13
I wouldn't sell 5 main stay players in one window. that's the problem we have had in last 3 years with rebuild after rebuild unless of course we are bringing in more quality than what's leaving.
12 Apr 2025 23:48:21
Trueblue had a look at Annan this is the positions he's played in his career so far.
Lb 56 games
Lm 39 games
Cb 12 games
Cm 3 games
Rm 2 games
Lw 1 game
Dm 1 game.
13 Apr 2025 00:35:41
Ehl absolutely spot on mate .
Keep yourself right first. Of course u know that and aren't daft.
13 apr 2025 02:22:39
wit stevie,
so dessers should stay, iffa should stay,
but raskin shouldn't " rot away in scottish football "",
scottish football never harmed henrik larsen, nor brian laudrup, nor paul gascogne, nor davie cooper, nor a hundred other football superstars
are you fir real, iggy should stay, dessers should stay, but raskin shouldn't rot away
his almighty, you have a high regard fir our football club then, that's a ridiculous statement, should every half decent player who comes to Rangers " not rot away in scottish football ", we are reduced tk a rotten club in a rotten country then eh?
13 Apr 2025 03:37:52
Everyone has their price, let not be kidded any decent offer for anyone will be considered. can't be losing players without any return.
13 Apr 2025 05:47:01
Pretty simple really Tom, Scottish football was a lot better when Larson laudrup gazza played here… and yea it did do them all harm… they could've been making more money elsewhere, winning better accolades and competing with better players in better leagues testing themselves against the very best … so a lot of sacrifices made by those said players…
Yes Scottish football and Scottish league is an absolute shi*show Tom. Ita an international laughing stock mate.
Raskin has just made his debut with a motm performance for one of the top international teams of the day. he's put in solid performances in Europe for us and his stock is high. He's had few injuries of late and with no emotional ties to the club he will want to go earn the money he deserves and test himself against the best on a weekly basis. Or dii ok u think he wants to play for 17.5k a week out of the goodness of he's heart mate? Don't be silly Tim c'mon.
Raskin is our best player and he could walk into a few epl teams and earn 60k pw and start games next season.
He'll be off make no doubt about that.
Igamane is younger and raw. He has things to learn In A way dembele am eduaord did a few years back.
There's a reason for him to stay.
Dessers is coming to end of his career and is playing at his level. He'd be happy to stay. he's said himself If he wasn't missing g the chances he does he wouldn't be at rangers.
Raskin isn't half decent either, he's a class act and too good for Scottish football Tom. Time u took a reality check pal. Gone are the days of holding onto our stars. We're a developing, selling club mate. And we're not that attractive an option for most players in t he first place, never mind ones who could go and triple or quadruple or more there wages and play against there peers from international breaks.
So yea. If raskin stays he's rotting away and wasting his career. Sorry to be blunt but that's pretty much the truth of the matter.
And Davie cooper? Really Tom? That's so long ago it was almost a different sport compared to what we have on offer now. Need to open your eyes mate. Scottish football is done and it ain't coming back.
13 Apr 2025 06:58:49
Times have changed from those days tho TT. Those players played when Scottish football was better. It's a terrible league now and a low standard of football.
13 Apr 2025 07:11:55
One player I would definitely keep in my opinion is dessers all day long he's an absolute workhorse, yeah he misses some chance, but he scores some cracking goals n always has it in him
His awareness and creativity n finding pockets of space is excellent
He is a very good option to have.
13 Apr 2025 07:59:57
That's a very well reasoned post Stevie. I think the other aspect about Raskin is that he has 2 years left on his contract, so this summer he is in an extend or sell situation. We can't allow the value of our best assets to erode away again.
13 Apr 2025 08:35:05
Stevie u need to proof read your post, u called Tom, " Tim", hope that's a typo?.
13 Apr 2025 09:09:57
'His awareness and creativity n finding pockets of space is excellent'
Really? We will win nothing with Dessers as our number 9.
13 Apr 2025 09:19:56
As much as I know Raskin will be away this summer I wish we could get another year or two from him.
With takeover happening and better players hopefully arriving it might interest him, another year or two wouldn't do him any harm, still playing regularly in Europe would give him the exposure he needs.
I'm also aware contract situation may contribute to our/ his decision on future, we DO NOT need another Kent/ Morelos fiasco where he leaves for nothing.
13 Apr 2025 09:21:49
Stevie what are you on about, Dio seems abit of a dud. At least a know the second name is wonder now, come on man. So many games that boy is slated for being terrible yet he has multiple assists in that very game. The boy needs bulking up a tad but his quality is there, nobody ever notices the amount of times he stands up the park in the middle asking for the ball and we ignore him to pass out wide to Tav or Cerny. His ability to turn a man as well and get us out of pressure is immense at times.
I'd sell the lot to be honest EHL as feel the good players have probably already been infected with that losers mentality that Tav and his pals seem to pass on. Best get rid and find fresh new talent that the new manager can shape his way.
13 Apr 2025 10:25:38
Bigjim sorry the words around are mumbled and lose my pointed, when watching dio domestically he can seem like a dud, not that he is one. I think he's more suited to playing in France Holland Germany for a few seasons and then into Italy or Spain for me. Don't even think he'd be suited to epl.
As for dessers, in a summer of upheaval when we could lose a lot of players I think it could be very important to keep hold of him. We can sell everyone skk ok after the out of contract players and the loan players we want away are sold we need to make hard decisions. One for me would be keeping dessers as back u ok for igamane and I'd be haply with Shankland as back up to them. 1 year deal with option of another if targets met.
This is why the Scottish league players are being targeted, for familiarity and so the players know what's needed in this league and expected at this club. Dessers knows that.
Lastly 1872, that's another great point, that's where I'm coming from woth the 17.5 wage cap. Does Tom think he's going to sign a deal within that new structure when he's going to be offered 60k a week by some epl clubs?
Fork. I noticed that mate ? apologies Tom ??.
13 Apr 2025 11:06:00
My own personal opinion, Diomande will have a better career than Raskin or any midfielder in Scotland apart from maybe Lennon Miller.
13 Apr 2025 11:46:52
We need to start competing we can't keep having years where we are miles behind Celtic. You cannot sell every single one of our best players in the one summer or it's just going to be the same rebuild after rebuild. Of course 1/ 2 need to go each year for a successful player trading model. If it was an ideal world I would sell Igamane, try keep Raskin and Dio for one more year each.
13 Apr 2025 12:00:10
Beale I could have maybe agreed with u until 2 - 3 months ago.
I see raskin going down south and possibly moving onto one of the bigger clubs within a few seasons.
Diomande I'm not so sure he'll play for a Bayern or psg or the Milan's and juventus and this type of clubs. All about opinions bro ??.
13 apr 2025 12:29:13
the point being what chance do we have if every player is rotting away in scottish football
we play in scottish football, your point is tha5 we can't keep decent players, , how do we ever win anything then.
13 Apr 2025 12:37:20
Spot on ehl wouldn't want to tip the club's hand although i think its even going a little to far saying the league
We all know you're a reliable poster
What happens in club stays in the club.
13 Apr 2025 14:26:33
Tom you must be talking about 80's 90's, our league is worse than poor now, quality players want out as fast as possible.
13 Apr 2025 14:32:36
Tom, n the same way Ajax psv and feyenoord can compete with each other and it goes from club to club most seasons. That's what we need to aim to do with Celtic is get on a level playing field mate.
Or the Belgian league title is shared about and every other league.
We need to find our new identity as a club and make it successful.
Players from Belgium watching raskin move ontkk ok bigger things and same with dio or iga when they move will help attract these young raw potential players to us instead of Celtic or other teams in the lessser leagues in Europe. They'll see us as a good stepping stone.
Also the money from these sales should help rebuild the team and give us a team capable of challenging.
Tom I know where you're coming from mate it's hard to watch what we have become in European terms mate but we just need to embrace the change in football and find our new place within it and try to be as successful as we can. ??.
13 Apr 2025 14:42:35
Trueblue you talking about Amadou Diawara mate the player EHL mentioned? some player around 5 years ago, I can remember him well from watching games in Italy, very good sitting midfielder, Napoli paid a good fee then Roma signed him for around 30m, never heard nothing about him or seen him play for a while.
13 Apr 2025 15:11:11
Done more digging on Amadou Diawara.
Signed for Bologna 15/ 16 season for 600k.
Signed for Napoli 16/ 17 season 14.5m
19/ 20 season signed for Roma 21m
22/ 23 signed for Anderlecht 1.9m
His Injury record is nothing major and has only missed 45 games in his career, he's still only 27, good experience and can remember him being a very good sitting midfielder.
13 Apr 2025 15:41:06
I'd like to know what took him from the top end of serie A to the Spanish segunda division.
13 Apr 2025 16:18:08
Same Stevie it looks like he's took a year out mate.
13 Apr 2025 16:26:36
I would keep Raskin and Igamane. The rest can go. Question is who is seriously interested in them?
13 Apr 2025 16:35:36
The way Diomande played today I think you're way off with your prediction. He's too inconsistent to play in one of the top leagues.
13 Apr 2025 16:53:16
Could be a hidden gem.
We definitely need that type of player.
13 Apr 2025 16:54:33
I'm thinking wanyama type player for us in Europe would be excellent and if dio is still here would give him the cover he needs to go and express himself better.
13 Apr 2025 17:06:01
What i never understand is aberdeen and rest had all scortish odd foreign player now payong higher wages for foreign players and still getting pumped over course season but they can't sell the journeen as much as they did scottish youth.
13 Apr 2025 17:07:43
Also what does it say about state of Rangers we are being outplayed by these teams its just individual brilliance that's getting us over line in games squad is worst its been in long time you can't keep getting rid of starters and keepinb dufs hoping they improve.
13 Apr 2025 17:39:28
Stevie he is that type of player mate, only signed on the 11/ 12 of march he's played 8 games and over 550 minutes.
Scottw1990 Diomande made a difference when he came on today.
13 Apr 2025 18:10:59
I'm not sure why a lot of you guys will be happy for Dessers to leave other than he's 30 or 31 and if we don't sell now we won't get any financial return. We need to offload players who don't contribute much likes of Danilo who is more often unavailable than he is and will both be on a decent wage and could get £2-3m back on.
We need to sell players who don't offer much our best starting 11 is good enough to beat Celtic home and away, and get multiple good results in Europe. What we need is to add 4 or 5 that are at least that standard especially creative players with good record of assists and goals.
They have a better squad and multiple options from the bench that can change games but their best 11 is comparable with ours.
Time to sell deadwood and replace with quality.
As for standard of the league players know they will get multiple European games to play here in Europa league at worst.
With fresh investment we don't have to sell our best players we need to add more quality to challenge the 1s we have unless we get 8 figure offers.
13 Apr 2025 18:28:31
I think danilo very much a confidence player get him back in from now to end of season and see how he does was good before injury to st johnstone.
13 Apr 2025 18:36:36
Stevie g not exactly true
Gazza wanyed to enjoy his football that's why Rangers.
Laudrup on record as saying club paid him a crazy wage compared to offers from elswhere and reason he came he was honest about it.
And larsson was still relatively unknown when he came to Celtic and was playing as a winger wim jansen i think it was converted him to a forward.
13 Apr 2025 22:05:39
Forever Rangers that's not exactly true either
Larsson was an attacking mf / forward when he came to Celtic. He'd already played as a forward at World Cup and scored for Sweden so not an unknown
So Not a winger.
Gazza met Walter smith by chance on a beach and was persuaded to join. Us, as a chance encounter that Walter took advantage of.
Have nothing of note to add about laudrup.
Doesn't change anything of my points though.
13 Apr 2025 23:12:37
Fair enough Stevie just the way you worded it, but the boy gets unwarranted stick at times especially playing a deeper role he isn't really used to playing. Aye much better suited to say the Spanish league, would be immense there.
14 Apr 2025 16:57:57
Stevie g the point was he wasn't a big name in world football at the point Celtic got him.
14 Apr 2025 21:30:17
Laudrup didn't sign primarily due to finances he's choose Rangers because Smith went to meet him and said he has been tracking him for years could tell him all about the various roles he had at Bayern Munich, Ac Milan and Fiorentina and he will have a free role at Rangers and can get the best out of him.
15 Apr 2025 16:46:48
Sorry but taking a year out unless it was to get himself fit sounds like madness they only get a short career. i'd be concerned at that attitude potentially mental weakness but i guess that can be kinda harsh veiw.
