Noticed that McKenna and Worrall are likely to be away in January. Are we in for either of them? Wouldn't be a bad shout considering how desperate we are to strengthen in that position.

YoungBlue2001

1.) 08 Dec 2023 08:35:19
Think mckenna has turned into a good quality CB. Would also be homegrown that knows the league and what we are all about. Could do a lot worse.

2.) 08 Dec 2023 10:12:11
Worrall def NO - imo McKenna would fit the bill but meeting equivalent wages will be an issue if Fenerbache and foreign teams come calling.

3.) 08 Dec 2023 10:37:20
Worrall has improved massively from his last time blue, anyway we can't afford him.

4.) 08 Dec 2023 11:58:30
Why are we desperate to sign a defender exactly? We have the best defence record in league currently!

5.) 08 Dec 2023 12:07:14
We need to upgrade our Defence, should have done it 3 years ago. Our defensive record is as it is thanks largely to Butland. We need pace and fresh legs.

6.) 08 Dec 2023 12:23:47
I’d take big McKenna. Strong left footed defender, would get ahead of Davies for me.

7.) 08 Dec 2023 12:24:14
GDog10, you can put that down to the great goalkeeper behind them.

8.) 08 Dec 2023 12:49:54
If McKenna signs for Fenerbahce in January we`ll get him in the summer if we really want him . Very few British players last very long in Turkey .

9.) 08 Dec 2023 13:08:36
WSL - Turkey pay higher wages than us - therefore his agent will look for comparable cash elsewhere and that's where we drop out the equation - hence why Scottish clubs need to buy when players are here in our leagues before letting their heads be turned by big cash South or elsewhere abroad.

10.) 08 Dec 2023 14:25:21
Wsl if fenerbache sign him in jan or a 3 or 4 year deal there's no way we would stump up cash 6 month later to buy him out contract. he's on 30k a week at forest. Fenerbache reported willing to pay him 50k a week.

11.) 08 Dec 2023 19:16:40
I would gladly sign both McKenna and Worrall. They are both better than what we currently have. Right now our best centre half pairing is Goldson and Balogun, Davies just doesn't look like he will ever be of the quality needed and remains a waste of £4m and John Souttar just cannot stay fit for long enough to be consider as an option.

12.) 08 Dec 2023 20:25:51
Yes Turkey pay higher wages than us, but only for the first few weeks, how many players have had trouble getting paid.

13.) 08 Dec 2023 23:48:04
Makenna n boy from miriwoski Aberdeen, off to celtic.

14.) 09 Dec 2023 12:53:39
Improved massively ? but can't get a game for Forrest ?

Sick of people think just because a player has done well in championship means they are going to do well in Scotland it's simply not always the case.

Worryall was here before and was not good enough

McKenna is a thug and clumsy no better than souttar

He also has hamstring problems that are getting more frequent add to heavy pitches in Scotland recipe for disaster.

15.) 09 Dec 2023 12:55:13
There was a reason a few of us called him

Worryall

Instead of

Worral

Decent on deck poor in the air couldn't handle Scottish football.

16.) 09 Dec 2023 16:59:40
We had defensive upgrades that cost less than a 300.000. and were sold for 30 million, which has been squandered away, and as you can see all that investment back into the team, we are now the kings of SPFL and highly feared in europe (Sarcasm)
Patterson and Bassey were easily the best young CB and RB in the league by a mile.
The board / club aren't interested in keeping our best assets, they would rather give that benefit to other clubs, line there own pockets, then let the newest manager squander the change on garbage replacements that aren't even 20% of the players we got rid off.
Doesn't take a genius to see it costs us far more in the long run to find a player even remotely of the quality we continually get in.

The europa final XI was assembled for a measely sum of 11.5 mill pound.
With Kent, Goldson and Barsic taking up majority of that money.

Chris Jack reporting final interviews next week and Lampard has not been chosen.

All Smoke and mirrors. It’s Muscat ??????.

2.) 06 Oct 2023 19:34:43
Thank f! Any idea who it's between.

3.) 06 Oct 2023 19:36:47
Just seen that, great news.

4.) 06 Oct 2023 19:51:56
I just hope that’s true.

5.) 06 Oct 2023 19:53:59
It can't be. he's 4/6 ??.

6.) 06 Oct 2023 19:57:48
Muscat, clement and Jansen.

7.) 06 Oct 2023 20:19:04
If down to those 3 that’s not too bad ?????? they’ll need to be decent to get this team firing again - last night was as bad as it gets ??????.

8.) 07 Oct 2023 07:14:29
Is it not knutsen instead of janssen?

06 Oct 2023 09:06:16
I've just seen somewhere that supposedly we have had a meeting with Clement where vision and conditions were discussed. Does anyone have any further info? I think Clement would be the best appointment we could make alongside Knutsen but I highly doubt he would take the job.

YoungBlue2001

1.) 06 Oct 2023 10:37:51
Clement and David Mitchell who worked together would make sense solving both positions that need filled, we could not find better .

But this board might be stupid enough to be convinced by someone like Lampard, and they are stupid that's for sure. hence Beale got in .

None of them have a clue about football it must be a nightmare trying to explain the rules to them .

2.) 06 Oct 2023 11:00:03
we need an appointment that the full or majority of fans are on board with, too many breaks in the support we need something/ someone to unite us and the players, it's not a nice environment just now, for me we should be going all out to get in phillipe Clement, won at different clubs and shrewd tactician, has experience in different leagues and Europe this guy should be our priority, I really like lampard but I just don't see him as the answer to our problems at this moment in time, no disrespect to him but I really hope it's not him or muscat, god this appointment is absolutely vital, please God let us bring phillipe Clement.

3.) 06 Oct 2023 11:28:22
I hope so and it’s not lampard that’s getting the job.

4.) 06 Oct 2023 13:08:09
Lampard ain’t going to unite fans.

5.) 06 Oct 2023 14:09:15
Phil mitchell has experience running a pub.

6.) 06 Oct 2023 16:25:20
Big Dado Cushty cocker I would take him before girly giggler Lampard.

I'm just curious, why is Raskin not getting a game. Lundstram is not the type of player you want being your deep lying playmaker, at least with Raskin he turns and wants to play forward and quickly and always struck up a good partnership with Cantwell. I know people want big changes for the rest of the games but I doubt it's going to happen. Personally, I would want to see Sterling go at RB and if Tav has to play I would push him further forward in a winger position. At least that way we have someone who would hog the touchline and spread the pitch instead of staying narrow.

YoungBlue2001

1.) 18 apr 2024 10:57:28
coz he's as poor as the rest . poorer maybe.

09 Apr 2024 08:06:52
Would love to get people's opinion on this. I know that we have an option to buy Sima but in case that doesn't happen. I think Jonathan Rowe at Norwich would be the perfect type of player we would want. 20 years old, can play on both wings and as a 10 and currently has 14 goals in the championship. Could probably get him for the same amount as Sima, or maybe a little more. What's people's thoughts?

YoungBlue2001

1.) 09 apr 2024 08:14:41
not vertain we do have an option to buy sima mate.

2.) 09 Apr 2024 09:16:41
Why would we sign a player who we don't know how he'll perform in our league over someone who's absolutely dominating it? The reality is Rowe probably now as a young English player doing well in the championship has a significantly higher value than Sima. Alex Scott for example.

3.) 09 Apr 2024 09:16:44
Hopefully we can do a deal for Sima in the summer.

4.) 09 Apr 2024 09:37:01
Is big Davie Weir not the D. O. F at Brighton? Hopefully do us a deal.

5.) 09 apr 2024 10:18:31
absolutely dominating it,

6.) 09 Apr 2024 10:56:15
Would like Sima and Cortes signed along with one other and Matondo.

7.) 09 Apr 2024 13:12:22
Matondo flatters to deceive and unless he can show his ability in the remaining matches I'd be looking to move him on.

8.) 09 Apr 2024 13:22:03
Clement and coaching staff are improving Matondo can't see him being sold ows, he's a very handy player and shown he will improve, best finish I've seen in an old firm game for many a year.

9.) 09 Apr 2024 15:45:27
I’ve slated matondo over and over for not being good enough but if a player is being improved then I’m all for it. He is clearly capable just getting consistency when he starts games is required.

Sima and Cortes would be two great signings and I would like sima right and Cortes left, both capable of swapping sides, better finisher for the 9 and I’ll be happy.

14 Mar 2024 19:48:05
I think the team gave everything tonight, some of them look done in and we were undone by a team who showed their quality when it matters. Bottom line out squad depth needs to be better, if we had a fully fit team I think the result is different. But this does mean we can focus on the domestic trophies and reclaim our title ??.

21 Dec 2023 13:44:31
Just seen Fabio Silva at wolves doing the rounds. Big tall striker, loves to drift wide and come short for the ball. Likes to bring other players into play but again his goal return is pretty poor. Not hit double figures in his career. Could be wrong though.

YoungBlue2001

1.) 21 Dec 2023 14:45:30
Can you even call yourself a striker if you cannot goal consistantly. At least getting double digits per season lol.

2.) 21 Dec 2023 15:36:03
He scored 11 times for Anderlecht the first half of last season, he scored 5 times for psv the second part only 21.

3.) 21 Dec 2023 15:41:33
I sincerely hope this isn't true. Let one of the other clubs on the list of suitors buy him.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 15:53:03
Sounds like the type of strikers we go for, unfortunately we are crying out for a more clinical CF.

5.) 21 Dec 2023 20:04:24
Aye strikers who don't score coully. Just our type of player.

6.) 22 Dec 2023 07:25:19
Would much rather have shankland or miovski over silva ?.

02 Oct 2023 16:28:54
I've read a lot of the names we're being linked with. And I think Muscat, Jansen and Knutsen would be solid appointments but I fear that until we get a DOF sorted, recruitment will continue to let us down which will then have an impact on the playing squad and we will be in the exact same position in a year's time and paying off another manager. If we don't get a DOF in by January would you back any of the potential managers to make the signings? I wouldn't after this summers rubbish show.

YoungBlue2001

1.) 02 Oct 2023 17:07:49
Pascal Jansen too much of a risk for me and that can't be repeated. I think both knutsen and muscat would be good appointments and i like potter and gallardo ?.

2.) 02 Oct 2023 17:51:38
There won’t be a lot of transfer activity in the January. Prices are inflated, there isn't as much movement in the market generally, and we simply won't have the money.

Any rebuild will need to wait until next summer when there is ST money there, and the opportunity to sell some of what we have to raise capital.

Beale was 9 points behind when he took over and was only allowed 2 players in the January: Cantwell and Raskin. Not sure how many GVB signed in the January but I imagine that was underwhelming also.

3.) 02 Oct 2023 17:59:33
Muscat has apparently picked up 4 points from his last 5 games. 3 defeats and a draw with one win. However his team is sitting second in the league. He obviously plays a brand of football that is popular at the moment. It’s basically just Angeball from what I’ve read. Angeball would be great but we mustn’t forget Ange was given investment right off the bat to make that work. Would it work with these players and little to no investment until next summer?

4.) 02 Oct 2023 18:19:13
Gios January was Ramsey and Diallo. No idea price but think we're pretty expensive loans for little return. Beales best came in the January s hard to judge.

5.) 02 Oct 2023 18:30:19
What has Muscat, jansen and knutsen won in total?

6.) 02 Oct 2023 19:19:05
You want muscat but say Jensen too much a risk Walter I’m puzzled.

7.) 02 Oct 2023 19:50:19
Muscat has won 5 trophies.

8.) 02 Oct 2023 19:50:51
Jensen none and no sure about the bodo manager.

9.) 02 Oct 2023 20:26:58
Diallo last I heard was ripping it up before his injury.
Just couldn’t get his head around this support .
Looked like a frightened rabbit against Celtic.

10.) 02 Oct 2023 20:27:27
Online sites say Muscat has won three trophies. League couple double in oz then league in Japan. They must be wrong.

11.) 02 Oct 2023 20:59:39
Orange he won two charity cups I believe.

I’m not sure standard of league in Australia but Japan is high up.

12.) 02 Oct 2023 22:30:47
Walter, out of the 3 I would go for Knutsen. I think potter is a good coach but I don't think his style suits our league, might do well in Europe, but I remember watching brighton when he was manager and he likes the 3 at the back but always played in a low block and his way of attacking was a direct ball to his forward.

Gofor, I agree but we also need depth in the squad, especially in the attacking areas for next season. If he's on a free got nothing to lose really.

I suppose in regard to O'Hare only issue we have is Celtic want him as well, and if we're not in CL it might be the determining factor. Could be wrong.

John, I'm just curious mate, if we sold Butland do you think we would try and buy this Rushworth, from what I've seen it would be a good bit business as he suits our trading model. Just the idea of loaning a young lad like that to be second choice if Butland stays seems a strange one in my eyes for Brighton and him.

Fair point John and Mark I just think it would make sense to get a DOF in first so that whatever manager takes over from Beale, they are both on the same wavelength in regards to how the team plays and the profile of players we need, rather than just hiring someone with no clear direction of where we want to go.
