I agree - Gerrard was the man we needed in this particular moment.
The next person in the hot seat gets no time. They need results from day 1. Gerrard would have gotten instant respect from the squad. He'd have them running through walls for him.
He also know the lay of the land, the expectations and demands of our massive club, and what it's like to navigate life in the old firm fish bowl. For all the things he didn't have, he brought all of that.
Whoever comes in will get no time to build a team or implement a philosophy. They will have to work with what's there, so they had better make sure they are able to inspire that squad and get them winning fast.
There aren't a lot of people out there with the combination of skill set, experience and personality needed to pull that off quickly.
The 49ers weren't able to get a deal done with Gerrard. They'll be selecting someone else. Their credibility is on the line here.

I disagree. How can anyone who doesn't want to come to our club, be the man who's needed. What's his alternative. The championship on England at best.

The new owners now have only one option to get a guy in who'd have an immediate affect. Set the team up, have them playing for him, knows the league but, more importantly, also knows the club and its expectations.

Asathor, It is so obvious you don't see what Steven Gerrard would have brought right now, fine you didn't want him, but what am saying is he would have worked for Rangers at his present time, with the players given him instant respect the fans are backing him and the lift we would get, Ibrox would be bouncing for the Utd game, let's see what it will be like now if a manager isn't announced before hand.
