Source close to backroom staff tells me medical/ fitness/ physio team unhappy about a Gerrard return. Seemingly Gerrard was very critical of them regarding time taken for players to recover from injuries during his spell as manager.

And rightly so. Out injury record is appalling. I'd be more worried if Gerrard was happy about the length of time Roofe etc was injured.

Thought the ones he'd had had been replaced. If not they should have been by now. They were a shambles the number of minor injuries that lasted months and injury record at the club needed sorted long ago.

I said before that Gerard would split the coaching staff - although, I have to say that the above is probably the opposite of what I would expect.

Thought clement tried to revamp the medical and physio staff and identified Rangers injuries as a major problem.
I'm pretty sure gio and beale also complained about injuries and beale blamed it on the amount of change within the medical staff since he was last there (with gerrard)

There are still folk involved with the Club who remember how Gerrard treated the backroom boys when our injury list was like the first day of the Somme. Justifiably so. But I thought it an interesting comment so should pass it on.
