Can someone please explain this to me:

People don't want Rohl because he may fail, having been assistant at RB Leipzig, Bayern, German national team and manager of Sheffield Wednesday.

But very same people advocate a return of Barry Ferguson.
A man who did FAIL!
And prior to Rangers his highest level of management being Clyde.

Now I know some are dead against anyone who isn't Gerrard but the arguments are getting more extreme and nonsensical by the minute.

Now for the record Rohl is not my first or even second choice but to suggest it would be better to have Ferguson is laughable.

Who are the same posters that don't want Rohl but are advocating the return of BF.
BF did the club a favour in stepping in as interim ehen that is just what we needed.
He should not be brought back imo. So I don't think Rohl is the right choice and I would not advocate BF coming back.
Too easy to say same posters font want Rohl want BF.

I could say the same about you not understand the Gerrard situation Asathor, I don't even what them too even think about bringing Barry in as manager now, but i understand why some fans do, because he would also get the backing and even though both us know Rohl is the better manager he wouldn't get the same backing as Ferguson right now, I also know it's very wrong but that is the way it is with a large portion of fans inside Ibrox.

I would agree that Ferguson is not the answer either. The more I think about it the obvious choice is McInnes. Apart from the fact that he knows the club and the league.

The number one reason is that he has proven time and time again he can beat the rest of the league, which we haven't done for a while now. We have been fine against Celtic the past few seasons, players get up for those games, we need a manager that will beat everyone else so we are in a title race and that would be McInnes.

He is also a great man manager by all accounts, would not break the bank, has worked on low budgets, and would not over coach (we've seen how the players respond to that) .

I feel that it will be Rohl. I just don't think Rohl has the character to deal with the pressure here. I've watched some interviews after Shef Wed have lost and the guy can't even look at the person he's talking to. He looks down at the ground. He would be eaten alive here.

I know that he took a dreadful team from bottom of the league to middle but that should not warrant becoming the Rangers manager because you need to win, not just avoid relegation.

It really doesn't matter who comes in. As long as Thelwell and Stewart remain in positions at our club we are in trouble. ?

12 Oct 2025 21:15:21
JFM, broxistorm and a few other saying bring back Ferguson.

12 Oct 2025 21:17:01
Some wanted Ancelotti in summer with less experience but don't want Rohl.

12 Oct 2025 21:17:54
JFM it was not a dig at anyone I would just like to understand the rationale of those that do advocate a return for Barry Ferguson.

12 Oct 2025 21:27:52
Also easy to castigate an opinion or rant in frustration at the situation our club is in. Take a breath.

12 Oct 2025 21:54:15
The fans are scarred from Martins time here, that's how we are worried that the owners pick has got to be right this time. It doesn't bare thinking about if they get it wrong.

12 Oct 2025 22:16:39
Asa it's a forum and fans are entitled to their opinion the same as you are, you made it clear that you didn't want Gerrard and respect your opinion and feel you have to do the same, at this point with Rohl there isn't really a comparison to be made.

12 Oct 2025 22:29:02
I don't want Thelwell or Stewart either, FB. But you really can't be blaming them for SG walking away again?

12 Oct 2025 22:33:20
We all have different views and opinions, this process should be galvanising the fans looking towards a good manager with excitement but instead it's polarising it. To many people people believing people who I suspect are not really in the know and the biggest game of Chinese whispers ensues.
Frustration is setting in and verging on anger as here we are again.

12 Oct 2025 22:39:20
I'm not aware of anyone advocating Ferguson and simultaneously dismissing Rohl. I'm in the anti Rohl camp. another project! But I'm certainly not proposing Barry.

12 Oct 2025 23:11:13
Rohl should of been given the job in the summer and I think we'd be in a better position but the person that stepped in and hired the Vegan numpty needs removed as that was inexcusable.

12 Oct 2025 23:04:15
And my star it was not that I showed a lack of understanding in regards to Gerrard, I just fundamentally disagreed with you entirely on the matter.

12 Oct 2025 23:19:36
Normal service resumed then aye? ?.

12 Oct 2025 23:29:41
So you must be telling me Gerrard's doesn't get the players instant respect, fans backing, massive lift at our club right now after Martin, Ibrox bouncing then Asathor, is that what you telling me? If it is, am not being disrespect any in way here but that is pure bs.

12 Oct 2025 23:57:04
In any way ?.

13 Oct 2025 00:05:04
Gerrard is simply miles ahead of any other candidate in terms of getting Ibrox filled again with passionate supporters. No-one else comes anywhere close and that is why I am surprised, given the positive noises in advance that presumably came from Gerrard himself, that it fell flat in the end. We are all intrigued to know what happened. I presume that Gerrard looked at the Thelwell situation and said 'no thanks' and I think most of us can empathize with that.
