Long time lurker much longer time ger's fan. I think the reason a lot of us are so upset that it appears Gerrard is now out of contention is that we were full of elation and hope when some ITK posters explained how everything in the garden was going to be rosy from now on when the 49s achieved majority shareholding. Then the disastrous collection of space wasters in charge of the football side made possibly the worst possible appointment. Those of us lucky to have a small business appreciate the importance of making good management decisions. And at this early stage I would truly hope the next decision is the right one. To me Gerrard was the "safe" choice as well as the one to lift us up from our current despair. If the 49s think Ibrox was toxic before goodness help us all if they appoint / oversee another disastrous coach/ manager. I truly hope they get it right.

You have to love Rangers fans sometimes.
Gerard walks away from the club, for the third time no less, and not a negative word about him and his part in this debacle. Plenty of abuse towards Thelwell and Stewart for "reasons" though.
No one knows what Gerard asked for that he's been told is a red line for the club. We likely never will. Ultimately though, if he wanted to be Rangers Head Coach he would be, he's choosing not to be. The only person at the moment stopping him taking the job on offer is him, by all accounts.

Well you never know if the next managers a flop the 49ers consortioum can always play the ace up their sleeve and sell their 51% share in the club to another buyer/ group, anything is possible, not likely, a lot of fans thought they were the magic sponge that would fix all the issues and have us swimming in oceans of transfer funds, top players and leaving Celtic for dust, unfortunately the reality checks are hitting hard, and we are actually in a bigger mess manager and performance wise, than before they came in, as it currently stands, hope that changes sooner rather than later.
