Guys I’m hearing that Ramsey would be happy to stay on a pay as you play kinda contract but it seems a bit far fetched and wondering John25 have you heard anything in the grapevine of similar? Source is someone who has ties to the club and says the guy was absolutely destroyed by the UEFA result ( he’s not the only one tbf ) and wants a bit of redemption. I’m on the fence by the statement from him and I also don’t think the club would entertain.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Rangers do those deals has there been one done before?

27 May 2022 22:18:25
No thank you. Rangers have been more than helpful with his on going injuries. He has offered nothing in return.

Take him every day of the week, still a quality player there who has a lot of experience and would be great about the club for our young players. Think he would be brilliant for young Lowry especially.

Ramsey, I really wanted it to work but it just hasn't panned out. He has undoubted talent and experience but for me didn't do enough to prove he is worthy of playing for us. He's too unreliable in terms of injuries. I think he's a good player but for me, money best spent elsewhere.

It was in the paper about that deal. still. No thanks. 2 decent games v dundee doesn't get you a deal.

Didn’t work out it time to move on.

Maybe one of the Eds can explain the pay as you play deals? I'm assuming the players have to get paid legally - so they just get a lower base wage and then a hefty bonus for making an appearance? I'm sure I read previously that a long of contracts are incentive based. so probably not all that different. In fact, did Frank De Boer not do something similar?

Maybe with a preseason behind him and a sensible workload plan, he could stay fit and really add value.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, they can't legally be truly pay as you play, but just a much lowered basic salary with a massive appearance bonus.}

Talent not in question regarding Aaron Ramsey, his injuries are .

28 May 2022 07:24:26
Wrote this four weeks ago. Shot down.
Would take him in a minute.

Thanks Ed! Much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Ramsey is to much of a risk to the squad / rangers
Already? Marks over :
Souttar
Big Phil
Roof
Hagi - (potentially hope he’s ok )
Jack
Borna

Adding Ramsey is mismanagement imo you could have half the team out on the treatment table by Nov .

28 may 2022 11:13:07
i said same thing, be crazy not to take a player of that quality on a very low risk deal, absolutely a no brainier imo.

28 May 2022 11:26:17
So would I John. In a heartbeat.

28 May 2022 11:36:37
Well worth a punt on a low basic wage. If he recaptured his match fitness, he would be amazing. Even without it, as mentioned by AC21, he'd be a superb influence on our youngsters.

28 May 2022 11:38:57
I think we should move on as Ramsey is injury prone and a large financial outlay for the club.
Lowry is certainly more than capable of playing in the first team on a regular basis.

28 May 2022 12:56:20
I also would take Ramsey on a pay as u play, if Scotland beat the Ukrainian’s let’s see how he plays against us for Wales.

28 May 2022 13:11:53
If we can get him risk free financially then it’s not a tough decision! Yes please.

Belblue Flanagan 5k basic 5k if in match squad.
