The worrying thing about the Rangers manager saga is that we haven't had any outstanding candidates.
Or to my knowledge, haven't approached any.
Gerrard was the comfort blanket the fans craved. Seeing his first spell through blue tinted specs after the following debacles of GVB, Beale, Clement and the final straw Martin.
Rohl is the unknown who doesn't excite the fans with his record at Sheffield Wednesday repeatedly brought up.
Dyche would have brought a brand of unattractive kick and rush football.
Ferguson would have brought the staunchness the fans crave but not as lot else.
McInnes would have been a safe option that has never endeared itself to the fans.
We've also had various out of work Championship managers in the mix. A root most fans aren't keen on going down.
Which has left us with Muscat.
Who from a boardroom level appeases a section of the support as he's an ex-Ranger.
Excites other fans as he's a winner in various Asian leagues.
Annoys others as he isn't available until November.
And some questioning his tactics / formations already due to his goals against tally.
Which means he will miss games domestically, including a semi-final against our biggest rivals, and games in the Europe League.
A season that is already fragile to say the least could be looking horrendous by the time he starts.
Which leaves us in the unfortunate position of Smith etc taking the reins and steadying the ship until his arrival.
Fingers crossed the fans give them the backing they will need.

What u worrying about? Only worrying thing is ignorance and it's bliss. We as fans haven't clue what's going on and your assignation way wide. Let's wait see, you can worry if we're managerless at Christmas.

The fans backed the team. Despite the dross. We certainly never want the toxicity.
Muscat if him, is the last throw of the dice. because if this breaks down then I think it mediocrity fc from here on in.

Think Muscat ticks more boxes than the others been mentioned to the job, hopefully EPL clubs are all over him in a couple of years.

Finish 2nd this season and build for next. No way this Rangers side with that horrid defence wins the league.

Who do you think would want the job who is outstanding? As much as we all love our club and used to be a big draw money has changed things significantly and many mangers don't want to manage in Scotland certainly anyone outstanding - we were fortunate with Walter and advocat came when we had money and dominated Scottish football and were seen around Europe as a top team - we are not the same draw anymore and which is a key reason why Europe is so important for us to progress both financially and to attract better players and managers in future years - glad it is not mcinnes or Gerrard.

We need to remember we can't attract the big names or players anymore that's where we are sadly.

I'll ask this again cause maybe I missed the answer. Can Muscat's team win their league and if not can't we buy out the remainder of his contract?
