One thing to note about the Gerrard situation is how the media have been used to his advantage, and how easily Rangers bought into that.

It should have been no comment all around but coming to the table so readily looks like a bartering pressure tool from Gerrard. Hasn't got what he's asked for and off he pops back to Bahrain while the masses are again deflated.
Easy to point the finger at Thelwell and Stewart, but they were in place when he started that conversation.

No man bigger than the club guys and one to remember the next time we're looking for a manager - or seemingly more accurate coach.

Good post pele but apparently to some fans and the way they are behaving SG is apparently bigger than the club. They were all warned nothing is done till scarf above there head.

Great post, Milton and I totally agree. SG has walked away from discussions, which is his perogative. No point blaming everyone else when it's his decision. We need to consider the candidates that actually want the job.

Think Gerrard could cause a riot if he came out and said the real reason he was walking away, let's be honest he could spill things to the media but things will come out eventually.

When Rangers are interested in a player and he's labelled as good the first thing I ask myself is, if he's that good, why is he being let go etc. Now it's Rhols name that's coming up. If he's that good, why has he not got a club? .

If it not the right time for him why even come here for the interview in the first place, why not tell us the real reason.

Get THELWELL out.

We've been here before strom, and I think the club look a bit naive here.
Everyone's got an opinion on who they think is the better choice, but I hope we haven't lowered the bar again due to the last decision being just so bad.
My fear is the structure that's been put in place places lower league English football at the baseline standard we should be trading with going forward.
I think that will continue to be the frustration/ error going forward if it is.
We are a top European club in a league that has fantastic opportunities for players and staff alike and a 'red bull' style structure makes sense if operating like a European team as opposed to an English team. There's gems to be found but the value just isn't there, and the experience of European football certainly isn't there.
