You can almost picture it - Monday morning, blue skies (well, Glasgow blue at least), Gerrard back on the marble staircase, cameras flashing, that wee knowing grin as he shakes hands with the chairman. The PR machine rolling into gear. Kids off school, the Main Stand open, fans piling in for a glimpse. The kind of day where the club feels alive again.
If this has been planned quietly in the background, then fair play - they've timed it well. After the misery of recent weeks, the whole fanbase is crying out for something to believe in. Gerrard's return would do that instantly. It's not just nostalgia - it's familiarity, standards, and unfinished business. He knows what this club demands and he knows how to get a tune out of a squad.
For many, anything else would feel like an anti-climax. This isn't the moment for another "project" or a left-field experiment. It's a moment for reconnection. For bringing the pride and presence back to Ibrox.
If Monday really is the day, then maybe - just maybe - we're about to see the start of Rangers Reborn. Stevie G standing on the marble staircase once more, a grin on his face, ready to rally us all with those two immortal words.
