Storm see you're saying too ows Rothwell job is covering the fullbacks, not true, that job is the rcm and lcm in a three man midfield, 4231 yes both number 6's covers the fullbacks but that isn't the job of a number 6 in a three man midfield.
Rothwell had a good game tonight he just keeps it simple, very tidy footballer, he was blowing out his arse after a hour though but that only improves with game time.

Very much depends how manager wants to play the 3.Jack was excellent at covering the full back for example. Others want 2 of the 3 to drop back while the cental one goes forward. Others want the central one to drop back almost like a CB and the 2 CB cover the full back. Not simple to say in a 433 it's the 6s job. There's so many different types of 433. Thought Rothwell was good, as u say tidy and kept it simple. Only concern a few times saw him slowing jogging back rather chase his man but will improve. For me Raskin is much the better of the two in that position but he's certainly a good addition.

Your seeing what u want to see, djiga covered Aaron's more than once, as did soapy with jefte, and Rothwell dropped back when that happened, also gassama tracked back as did antman plenty of times, till the FBs recovered position, saying Cameron n dio were covering the full backs is an exaggeration to suit, they were not solely responsible for doing it as you say, others mucked in, so watch the game back and maybe you'll get it right as i'm not sure you can see what's actually happening.

Fork, yes wide players will cover back or rcm and lcm but Rothwell's job in Martin system in not covering fullbacks, didn't Storm say to ows Rothwell job was covering fullbacks? so was he correct in what he said to ows like? loved the atmosphere and will watch the game back later on,

I think it is a team game and it seemed to me whoever was closest covered. Souttar covered across for Jefte and Djiga for Aarons a few times whilst wingers and midfield got back asap. In the same way as FBs can't be expected to cover up and down 50 yards and not get caught out you can't expect our wide midfield to do the same. the distances are too great. I would say Rothwell as the deepest MF is there to help cover gaps at the back but not necessarily to cover the FBs.

Fork I think Rothwell was better last night but in fairness to Raskin he comes on when the tempo has died and it is difficult to do much then. However having 2 players who can compete for the same role will make Raskin play his best as there have been too many for a while now been guaranteed their place. think if Raskin is played there now it will be down to JR losing form or for rotation. needs to win his jersey back. good for the team to have him with that pressure on him.

Fork, I've no read the comment you're responding too but from my view in the first half Cameron was very much and predominantly the man dropping in to cover LB when the lads were pushing forward, reminds me of Kamaras role under Gerrard?
Do agree that the full team was working for each other though, proven by Antman playing out of the 6 to Gassama when he won his penalty, absolutely excellent work rate and desire.

Rothwell dropped in when Djiga covered Aaron's and when souttar covered jefte, agree Forza Cameron was prominent, but he was everywhere, like u say a team game with wingers and midfielders and CBs covering each other, it was fluid as they all stepped up situation and personell dependant.
