Wee need to be looking to buy shankland in January if Celtic sign him IMO it will be one we regret! I know we are keen to offload a few which would help fund it surely not on big bucks at Dundee Utd.

14 Nov 2019 22:04:45
Huh? What you on?

14 Nov 2019 23:14:33
I'm not so sure that we do need to buy him mate👍.

15 Nov 2019 06:45:10
Celtic won't buy him either. Do his career no good 3 choice striker sitting behind a 38 year old defoe. he's already 25. Needs to be playing.

15 Nov 2019 08:06:44
Defoe is miles better than Shankland. I know they are at opposite ends of their careers but we don’t need both as they are similar types of strikers.
If Alfredo leaves in the summer then I’m sure our replacement will be of a far higher standard than the likes of Shankland.

15 Nov 2019 16:39:42
Fund it? U really saying we need to sell to fund a wee boy?

14 Nov 2019 18:06:54
Just got notification from Rangers that my son and I have been allocated tickets for the Final. Happy days.

14 Nov 2019 17:40:17
When you consider all the people involved with the sale, administration and liquidation of the old company, how did nobody pick up on a 50 million mistake? This absolutely stinks to high heaven. I have no doubt in my mind people knew about this and said nothing for personal gain. I think there will be guys out there pitting their shants and what is about to unfold. The fight back begins here bears!

14 Nov 2019 20:10:34
Thats exactly why it never came out C, Duff phelps white etc personal gain. 👍.

14 Nov 2019 20:12:01
We will get nothing from this at all. I’ll be surprised if we even get an apology. I remember the American Robert server wanted to help us before Craig White got involved. He wanted to put the company in hibernation until all the debts where cleared and lots of fans where shouting yanks go home at him. Looks like a bad mistake now.

14 Nov 2019 22:12:08
Fair point southend ger but how would the yank have privilege information to what was going on? A lot if businessmen got involved most were crooks and in it for personal gain as came to light so why would the tank be any different? hope yank isn't defamatory it's not meant to be.

15 Nov 2019 06:41:25
Did the Yank not get involved after administration? 🇬🇧.

15 Nov 2019 06:47:05
Southend rangers, why does it look like a bad mistake now?

And Finally

14 Nov 2019 23:12:44
Definetly stinks we’ve been up like a kipper with the banks HMRC Murray agents green white over the years . who knows if some of them where in it together for there own personal gain . even taking HMRC to court not guaranteed we will win . love to get something out of this but probaly be swept under carpet.

14 Nov 2019 13:57:49
In relation to the news broke by the Times last night concerning the overcharged tax, I feel there needs to be a public enquiry. What we're talking about is a Government Dept tasked with collecting tax effectively force a business into liquidation, leaving hundreds of businesses out of pocket, and who really knows how many jobs were lost as a result, we lost millions of pounds worth of players for nothing as they walked out the door. This is what should concern everybody, irrespective of what colours we wear.

14 Nov 2019 14:05:46
100% SirStruth.

14 Nov 2019 14:32:19
100% sirstruth.

14 Nov 2019 14:32:55
why did our legal people not see this?

14 Nov 2019 14:49:38
SirSturth. Correct my man 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍.

14 Nov 2019 15:06:37
Where are all the tax experts when you need them? At another tax experts convention?

14 Nov 2019 16:03:26
Seeker,
I think you will find they are all over in the dark side, no doubt will crawl out soon.
Cheers Brian.

14 Nov 2019 17:24:07
Surely as DEEB said our legal side would have asked for a breakdown of the exact tax bill Rangers owed come on its not rocket science something not right here as we all know we were set up and you won’t need to look too far for the culprits 🇬🇧.

14 Nov 2019 18:53:23
Tinman
The revenue issued a breakdown of my pittance so I am sure they do the same for all. Someone looked at this at HMRC, RFC and our accountants and signed it off. Did they even look at it in detail.

14 Nov 2019 18:58:42
if you were to remember we were fighting based on we didn't owe anything from a point of law. we were arguing what we did was legal and as such no TAX was owed whatsoever. also remember it wasnt the big tax bill that put us in admin it was a conceived plan of Mr White by not paying PAYE that forced us into admin. that said if the bill is 20M then for sure we would have survived, us bears and a few outside investor plowed 22M into Gers immediately after. really annoyed that if this didn't need to happen many other things wouldn't have followed ie placed in bottom tier, being ridiculed, begging for a licence, void of european nights, having to now spend money just to stop 10 in a row etc etc. disgusting and it cannot be swept under the carpet.

14 Nov 2019 19:26:27
Exactly geesa . that’s why the plan might be to bring back the old co as DK suggests . and put in a heavy heavy claim for loss of earnings etc etc . I reckon about 150 mill should cover it.

14 Nov 2019 21:09:32
We talk wanting breakdown of tax bill, remember Whyte bought our club so as to liquidate us, he had done in many time before.
Challenging what we owed would not have suited his agenda.
Remember Walter left because he was excluded from financial matters.

15 Nov 2019 09:10:49
Good Morning Deeb and John25, I think the breakdown of tax demands and indeed any refunds due is a very valid point, and if acted upon properly at the time would have saved us all of this heartache, in my opinion.

All HMRC communications do provide a detailed breakdown of how charges and refunds are calculated, so, as has been stated it shouldn't be hard to identify who exactly was at fault at Rangers during that time for not querying these figures, and those are the people that should be worried at this time. I don't believe that it will impact much at all on the existing RIFC, unless there can be a direct link shown to the costs our current incumbents have had to pay due to what can possibly be shown to be professional failure by the Board in 2011.

15 Nov 2019 13:01:28
Agree irvger my point is Hmrc would have sent breakdown, Whyte and his cohorts hid it for their own personal gain.

14 Nov 2019 13:46:51
Hello Guys,
Waiting on my flight to Gatwick then connect to Toronto. bbc Scotland news on telly in departure, guess what they did not mention? Correct HMRC attempt to kill our club.
Expect nothing else from this mhank organisation.
United we stand.

14 Nov 2019 13:51:09
And they won't either run a proper story about it - there's a small piece in their "gossip" section on their website.

14 Nov 2019 14:31:52
safe home ian.

14 Nov 2019 14:33:00
Must be killing them👍.

14 Nov 2019 18:54:50
you are right coldo
it was choking their business affairs guy and even so diminished the effect the 'debt' had. B******s.
I hope we NEVER let them back in.

14 Nov 2019 20:49:02
its an absolute disgrace.

didnt big clubs in England have ebts also?

what happened to them? nothing?

15 Nov 2019 06:50:33
I remember arsenal paid £10m or so to HMRC and that was that.

14 Nov 2019 10:56:52
Some of the names being thrown into the hat for the Edinburgh jobs shows Scottish football is on the up troops. Can only be good for the overall game don't you think?

14 Nov 2019 11:48:13
Like who?

14 Nov 2019 12:11:15
Only names I’ve seen is pensioners and guys that are on the brew!

14 Nov 2019 13:12:38
Oh I don't know, perhaps guys who have managed in the EPL for years and in some respects, done quite well. Always with the negative comments. All I was saying is that we are attracting (as a league) names from a bit higher up than the Irish league or the spl.
Anyhow, I bow to your greater intellect and wisdom.
I'm away to watch some paint dry.

14 Nov 2019 14:41:58
Or perhaps people desperate for a job. I would like Holloway to come up just for the banter.

14 Nov 2019 14:48:51
I don't give a van damme who manages those clubs who were complicit in our downfall.

14 Nov 2019 15:31:56
Lol daisy, brilliant sir.
I know what you mean and agree with in that respect. I'm just meaning our game seems to be a bit more high profile in the last year or so. And that can't be a bad thing. Better players can be enticed here for starters on the back of it.

14 Nov 2019 18:33:29
Cletus i have not read any news on hibs or hearts. No negative comments fron me i aas genuinley asking whos names are forward for the job?

14 Nov 2019 20:18:18
Jings is that the time of the month? I thought this was a banter page.

14 Nov 2019 10:46:09
Hearing that Crystal Palace/ Everton and Borussia Monchengladbach are going to have a bidding war for Morelos in the Region off £20-£30m. Southampton in for Arfield for at £4 million and apparently Fulham and Watford are interested in Kamara also starting at £6 million.

14 Nov 2019 14:49:02
Hearing that Aston Villa / Newcastle and Hamburg are going to have a bidding war for Morelos at around £30m, Brighton in for Arfield at £5m, and Leeds and West Ham are interested in Kamara at £8m. I heard it all last night while I was dreaming as well.

14 Nov 2019 09:56:27
Astonishing interview with Ross Wilson on the Rangers website. I think we're damn fortunate to have him on board.

14 Nov 2019 09:37:41
BBC a joke! 1 paragraph in the gossip column about HMRC " mistake" on their sport website but a whole article on Sean maloney coaching journey
I'll bet they still manage to spin this is a negative way especially if Mark Daly involved.

Wow Lads daily record article (HMRC overcharged Rangers by millions), is there a chance Dave King could buy old rangers back in the future for 20 Mil. it would shut that manky mob up. Just a thought LoL

Rangers tax case

14 Nov 2019 05:34:59
I know its been mentioned before but what would the real benefit be from buying back the company now? So much has been done and invested into the club since it all went wrong.

This might spark debate but without the intent to offend anyone, surely that would be nothing more than a vanity project and not worth 20m?

The major issue here in my opinion is that HMRC had alleged we owed more than triple what we did.

20m would have been manageable for a club like ours, 70m scared off any decent investment we could have hoped for and Murray washed his hands when it came to Whyte.

14 Nov 2019 06:40:47
If you want an answer in relation to any of this then head over to that mob's pages - it's all their talking about it. They ain't handling this news well at all.

14 Nov 2019 07:11:54
Odd that the BBC didn’t cover the story on the news this morning . they’re usually all over stories involving Rangers and HMRC!
Maybe they’re too busy producing a one hour documentary with that rat Mark Daly?!

14 Nov 2019 07:45:54
bottom line CVA wouldn’t even have been needed far less rejected

ergo liquidation wouldn’t have happened

we cld have been going for 12 in a row .

14 Nov 2019 07:56:43
Some years ago HMRC warned that they were going to target a major british club, they did this to warn arsenal, Utd city Chelsea and other clubs, but they chose Rangers because they were never going to go after a major English club, the solution was obvious, let the info get out, then hit Rangers, that way they terrified the English clubs into action, a forewarning if you like, they said they knew many British clubs were playing the same game, but they only hit us,

14 Nov 2019 08:50:16
What a shocking story!

14 Nov 2019 08:57:14
Good Morning guys, this admission has serious implications for HMRC. We are not just talking the potential put off of Investors in our time of need in 2011, we are talking about the potential loss of revenue to our Club via here in Scotland, and in Europe. We also wouldn't have had folk like Ashley and his crew and Green and Whyte in our Club.

The fall out from this will be massive, we cannot just sit back and say, 'Oh well at least they've admitted their mistake', I await our Clubs response on this shocking debacle.

14 Nov 2019 09:31:50
I’m sure the east end window cleaners and van drivers are dusting down the EBT for dummies book I mean at the time they were experts on EBT and corporate law
As someone else posted the tims are borderline meltdown and we all know it’s tick tick on their own cash woes it’s coming.

14 Nov 2019 09:52:19
Looks like Brazil was correct - big news coming soon is this what he was on about, this hasn't come out of nowhere. they must have already maybe discussed what happens next from here. Is it possible to sue for damages and losses? let's wait and see.

wouldn't that send folk into overdrive, you can definitely smell the fear over there with this all about debt everything can be paid and we could have more in the bank than them is the cry. time to do a celtic and get petitions letters emails ready and start a world wide protest bahahahahs.

14 Nov 2019 11:36:44
Not sure what the club or company can do as its the old company's business and any compensation would be due to the old company and not the new company or the club. 👍.

14 Nov 2019 11:45:30
Craig whyte must be rubbing his hands. If compo is due, will he not collect most of it?

14 Nov 2019 12:51:19
Think your correct coldo👍 shocking state of affairs though.

14 Nov 2019 14:01:07
This could be a very interesting turn of events for old or new club management.

Is the old argument we are sevco or reformed Rangers club still going on.

I'm probably wrong again but did the SFA not let us get to keep the trophies as won by Rangers that the manks wanted to be taken from us. Are we still Rangers or not.

14 Nov 2019 16:06:49
Yes sir walter but it was the company that was liquidated not the club. The new company bought the club which had the history not the old company therefore the new company and the club are nothing to do with the old company or the tax case👍.

14 Nov 2019 21:30:42
Thanks Coldo that clears it up for me as well for a few o my mates. Cheers.

14 Nov 2019 23:17:15
Thats my understanding anyway sirwalter, could be wrong tho👍.
