Two points. If and when Paterson leaves from a business sense it is exceptional business. However, that is another player removed from our European squad going forward.
I hear Alex Rae saying Doehki to Rangers is the reports coming out of Holland today.
Signing on pre contract, this is a serious upgrade.

It’s not a serious upgrade, I’ve watched DOEKHI 👀 a few times and he was ripped apart, especially against spurs. Fine for a free imo but definitely not a serious upgrade.

Doehki is a right sided ch who plays with Vittesse. He is presently their captain 23 years old and available on a bosman.
He came through the Ajax academy and would be a serious upgrade on any off our defenders.
There was a rumour he has liked rangers pages. Also appears he will definitely leave vittesse.
I know we have watched him on a few occasions, under gerrard and since Gio joined.

John this is one Of a few negatives for me regarding European squad . I really think we will regret Patterson transfer.

I just think we have been sold short re the Patterson deal. There is a lack of quality right backs throughout the uk. So getting one of the hottest prospects for 12 mill plus add on seems very cheap. Rangers should have been quoting the current value of KT and Robertson. Patterson has the potential to be if not better but on a par with them 2.
I'm guessing had he played for Celtic they would have accept no less than 20 million for Patterson.
Only my opinion guys.

John25, thanks for that. Sounds good mate. Regarding the possible sale of Patterson, Rangers don't have the financial luxury of keeping all players. Unfortunately we need to sell to pay the bills. Rangers cannot knock back that kind of offer. Just imagine 30 million coming in for 2 players who cost us 1 million, now that's a serious piece of business.

Stewart he hasn't actually done very much though to justify £20 million fee. Imo 12 is a fantastic return and everyone is replaceable. Hope some of the fee goes into youth development set up ðŸ‘.

He was Scottish anyway and can be replaced by a homegrown talent in European squad, we will most likely be out against Dortmund anyway next round,
Tierney and Robertson were playing 1st team football for years before their transfer.
Patterson a handful and 12m plus add ons and a sell on fee is probably more than we should've got considering he was our 2nd best RB.

Stewarty the problem is Patterson ain’t broke into our 1st team as Tav is our captain and main right back I think it’s a great amount for a boy that’s played 27 times for us Everton 1st bid was 3 million we have got another 9 out of them with the possibility of more.
Ps I still ain’t happy about selling him but it is a good deal.

Tierney had played about 5 times as much as Patterson has and in Champions league for a couple of seasons. Andy Robertson had a good season in BPL for Hull playing majority of their games and went for £10m.
I think £12m with potential for £16m plus sell on clause is fair.
If you have me the choice to sell Kent, Morelos, Kamara, Aribo or Patterson I think majority of fans would rather lose Patterson.
Not saying I don’t rate him or think he can’t become a right good player but for what he has achieved so far I think it’s a fair valuation.

For Europe you can name a squad of 25
First you r allowed four players over 21 who have came through our own academy between age of 15-21
Example, McGregor, Mccrorie, Kelly soon.
Second you r allowed four players who come through a home association academy, so any academy in Scotland
Also between age of 15-21
Example Arfield, Jack, Wright.
Note the players do not need to be Scottish
There after you name 17 players who do not meet the above criteria
If you cannot name 8 players who meet the criteria your squad is reduced. So say we can only name 1 player from academy we could only have a squad or 22
These players in the 25 or less as has happened recently are know as A players.
Thereafter u can name what uefa refer to as B players ie king, Lowry, ure Devine Hogarth who don’t count in the A list.
However guys like mcann and alegria can’t be b players due to restricted time at club.

Souter would be classed as an association player due to his time at Dundee Utd, this IMO is where we always should have four. Ie Wright plus 3. Two at present would be Jack and Arfield, mb another reason to give Arfield another year.

In terms of home grown talent I believe that we will need to rely primarily on players coming through our own Ranks such as young Devine, Kelly and possibly Weston and McCann, (assuming that they would count) . Other than Souter, who we could secure for a £500k development fee I do not see any young Scottish players that we could bring in that would be good enough, where their Clubs would let them come to Rangers.
Thankfully we do appear to have a few gems in our youth ranks so long as we don't lose them to the EPL.

John Souter would count as association academy as would likes off Doig, Nisbet, Ramsey Kerr smith, dylan Reid, Ali, mcann zander Clark, but r they standard we require or worth what clubs want.
Looks like Kerr smith going to palace 250k we tried for him in the summer. Also we tried for Reid as well 150 k.

Thanks John, that's unfortunate reference young McCann. He seems to be a top class young player. I would like to see us sign Souter, I like Doig and Ramsaybut suspect that their current Clubs wouldn't let them come to us unless we paid well over the odds for them. Same with Nisbet. Zander Clark, I feel we can sign better, same with Ali McCann.
