Is any channel show the game on Tuesday .

14 Jul 2018 21:39:46
Premier sports on sky

14 Jul 2018 22:42:58
It’s on free sports sky channel 422 I think at 8am the next day for nothing.

15 Jul 2018 15:36:25
Does anyone on here fancy harry cochrane from hearts I think he would be a great signing.

14 Jul 2018 20:44:06
Good to see Dundee Utd getting beat again today not rangers related but just made me happy to see them struggle😂.

14 Jul 2018 21:02:21
They deserve to rot

14 Jul 2018 22:42:27
They lost 1M last year and another year in the championship means more debt then they sold the training centre to raise funds in feb 2018 there in 1.8M debt right now if u look the players wages then season tickets sold the figures add up to a very tight budget 😁😁 Dundee utd are falling apart which I love .

15 Jul 2018 08:18:56
Yes wonder if they will go down our financial route and get loans off their director s to get them through til season book money time. Worry about ourselves and let them rot.

14 Jul 2018 20:21:52
Does anyone have any realistic ideas on someone coming in that can finish.

14 Jul 2018 20:44:36
Lafferty?

14 Jul 2018 20:52:34
12 goals in 35 games

14 Jul 2018 21:05:03
Mikael ishak Nuremberg fc 29 goals in all competitions last season only 25 and wouldn't have to pay much more than maybe 1.5 2m imo

14 Jul 2018 21:05:12
For Hearts.

14 Jul 2018 21:30:40
Like him or hate him, Lafferty would do a job for us, and that is what matters. Does he suit what SG is planning? That is another matter.

15 Jul 2018 10:32:32
He got 31 in 104 last time he was at rangers with good players round him so what makes you think he’s better now

14 Jul 2018 17:54:29
not really into debating this, i just want to express my opinion.

Jason Cummings along side Umar Sadiq would have excited me. Morelos is NOT a team player and is no good alongside a striking partner, just my opinion. Cummings was available for a decent price, i think this could be one of SG's mistakes. hope i'm wrong but Morelos lost his way last season and is still in the twilight zone.

14 Jul 2018 18:29:18
Not sure if Cummings is the answer, neither is Morelos. I've reserved judgement on him until now. For me, i'd sell him if a decent offer came in. Lafferty i think would be an option.

14 Jul 2018 18:37:58
No really wantinnto debate this either Ritchie but Morelos is ten times the player Jason could ever hope to be . Morelosvwas dropped and Jason got his place and was rank . don’t even think he kicked the ball and was replaced with alfredo second half. Jason got his chance in my opinion and wasn’t up to it . Entirely my opinion right enough and so is the fact that Stevie has not made one glimmer of a mistake to date

14 Jul 2018 19:25:31
Morelos IS a team player and was at his best with strike partner (Miller) last season.

14 Jul 2018 20:15:48
Morales is not a team player!

14 Jul 2018 21:22:44
Who is Morales?

14 Jul 2018 23:15:24
So in your opinion, molsgoals, Cummings got 45mins and didn't cut it? Giz peace man. Cummings got humped out on the wing most of the time and his goal return wasn't bad but he's at Peterborough now so it's moot an we still need another striker. don't think it'll be Solanke but it needs to be someone who knows what a net swishing sounds like!

14 Jul 2018 23:17:53
To hi-light what nonsense this is Ritchie you think Cummings and Sadiq would be a great partnership? We’ve no even seen the boy Sadiq play? Same as I said before about the big boy that came wi windass according to the likes of yourself was a world beater and straight first team material?

please let’s get real here . buffalo will come good . granted that was his worse game on thurs but Stevie still backs him and so do I . So please have a little more patience, till jan at least

15 Jul 2018 07:43:37
Everyone has their opinions on jason cummings, but IMO he most certainly,
NEVER got any kind of fair chance or run, in our starting 11! Anyone on here who denies that, clearly has selected and tunnel vision! I stand with the opinion, that we should have signed jason cummings, permanently!
I truly think we've missed a very good chance, to sign a natural goalscorer, in the correct system that suited him. Cummings could have been our ally mccoist, for the next good few years and nobody will change my mind otherwise! Of course cummings isn't the finished article,
but he's a very natural goalscorer and at still only 22 years old, would have improved, year on year! I've also got no doubt, that cummings would have learned the art of playing as our lone, no.9, through the middle! He can put the ball in the net and the guy WANTED so much, to sign with rangers, on a long-term, permanent contract. He wanted to be here, playing for glasgow rangers! I'm old enough to remember a young ally mccoist, come back up the road from Sunderland, in the very early 80's. He couldn't hit a barn door, at the beginning and had a terrible time, down at sunderland. He became our record goalscorer, of all time! I'm not going to make the assumption, that jason cummings,
would have become our record goalscorer of all time, if we had have signed him permanently, but i do see similarities! I also look at celtic striker, leigh "the thumb" griffiths. Cummings is a very similar, styled striker to him and their careers are very similar, to date. Griffiths came back up the road from wolves, to sign for celtic and look at his time with them, since he did come back! I honestly believe fellow bears, that there's a very good chance, that cummings could have done the same for us and became our griffiths! Cummings will score goals anywhere, if given a proper chance and playing in a system that suits him, giving him time to mature and learn, all the other aspects, of being a striker! He's still only 22 years old, into the bargain.

15 Jul 2018 08:02:50
Any update on Lafferty for Wallace?

15 Jul 2018 09:42:46
@supercoop
I WANT to sign for rangers so bad, ye think I should be gave a chance?
Cunning’s had PLENTY of chances, albeit from the bench, didn’t work for him, you say play him in a system that suits him? Stevie and karanka if yer reading then now you know you should change your whole system to fit in Jason Cummings!
I wanted to it to work out for Cummings I really did, but it just didn’t happen! We still have Herrera tho, maybe Stevie should change his system to fit him in eh?

15 Jul 2018 10:44:50
Yea your right kenny. super it sounds like Jason is your love child or summit. he never scored goals at Nottingham? Oh but I suppose they never changed their system to suit or gave him a chance. He scored three against Falkirk I think and that was because alfredo was being mannarked . we could never afford that system against better teams . I to truely wanted him to work as I do alfredo . but Jason showed little . was bullied off the ball at every turn and looked so out of his depth it was scarey. He’s gone now so let’s move on . We will see how he does at ports and if he excels like you say he will . Stevie could always tempt him back . but I doubt he will but you never know . Good luck Jason whatever. nice tattoos tho

15 Jul 2018 10:59:03
He didn't have plenty of chances. From the bench like you stated, doesn't equate in my book, to be given a fair crack of the whip! Read the post properly! I said he could have matured into a much better, all round striker, if we had signed him! I certainly wasn't saying to change a full team to suit cummings. But his best position to date, is in a 2 up front, which would have benefited us, IMO, as stevie G has constantly said, that he won't stick to any particular, rigid system! Murty brought cummings in on loan and then for some reason, didn't give him a chance, as he must have known his strengths, before bringing him on loan in the first place! So kennyd9,try reading the post and think what i'm actually saying, instead of the bull your insinuating, i'm meaning! Its not rocket science pal!

15 Jul 2018 11:37:11
If I was him I would have burst my a*$e every time I came off the bench! Show I was worth a place in the team, even on is few occasions he started he wasn’t up to it! V Falkirk I’m sure he played left of a front three and scored a hatrick, sort of showed his level scoring a hatrick v championship side!
I was so excited when he signed then For me he was a massive let down!
I hope he goes on to have an excellent career, never know in future he may get a chance to come back but currently he is not good enough!
Also mark Hately didn’t have the greatest of starts, should we persevere with Herrera?
No? Didn’t think as much 😳

15 Jul 2018 12:48:07
Herrera is gash and hasn't done anything in his career! Mark hateley, came to rangers with an injury, if you can remember, but was a superb all round, centre forward.

15 Jul 2018 13:52:32
Let me begin by saying I hate giving credit to any of that lot. Especially a wee jakey like Griffiths but he was much more established than Cummings at similar stages of their career. All Cummings has done is have a decent scoring record in the Scottish Championship. Griffiths had maintained a decent scoring record at a few different clubs by this stage. While Cummings is now off to Peterborough, Griffiths was on his way to banging them in up here and winning a bunch of awards like young player of the year and getting in the SPL team of the season. Nothing I have seen from Cummings suggests he is ready to make that kind of impact. If we are talking about giving guys a chance, what makes Cummings so special that he deserves it ahead of any number of other strikers? Where was the list of clubs queuing up to sign him before he wound up at Peterborough? We definitely need options up front but if Cummings is the best we can come up with, we are in for another long hard season.

14 Jul 2018 14:21:39
Afternoon Bears,
Just had a look at Solanke on youtube. I know youtube could make me look like Laudrup but from the footage he looks to be an all round decent player, should be a great addition, IF.

Anyhow the real reason i'm on as is the norm when on youtube I end up watching Rangers footage and for the umpteenth time watched the highlights of us v them semi final 2016.

Q: Is Barry Mckays goal the best most enjoyable Rangers goal in the last 8 years. Never get tired of watching the ball bulge that net. Still makes the hairs stand up. Let hope this season brings us plenty of similar moments!

14 Jul 2018 15:59:53
for me its when you hear BARRIEEEE MCKAYYY

gives me goosebumps each and every time.

14 Jul 2018 17:17:41
Aye the commentator makes it. Made it all the better when he skipped past broon

14 Jul 2018 19:20:40
I like jamie ness old firm goal. Belter!

14 Jul 2018 19:40:29
Rfc_Chris, Yep that goal was top class, well remembered!, however the fact lego head was spun into the ground like a corkscrew puts Barry's slightly ahead, LOL. hopefully in 12 months time we are debating who scored the best goal, Umar, Fredo, Solanke - Tav, about time he came back to form. ATB

14 Jul 2018 22:04:53
What about big Berties goal against them in the league cup semi final. Never has anyone struck a ball so sweetly at the national stadium.

15 Jul 2018 00:06:04
Hi ArthurD, Last 8 yrs ish only, I would like to sit with you and enjoy the bottle of whisky I have signed in my cupboard by the legendergy JA for hours/ days on our best moments prior to armageddon. However that bottle as long as I live and breath, will never be opened. He was and is utter class as a player and gent. We can only dream of another Albertz.

15 Jul 2018 08:05:37
Still breaks my heart that we no longer have Waggy and McKay even Bates they were all good players Waggy was a work horse, McKay although not a work horse had flashes of brilliance and Bates would have saved us 2 or 3 million on this Cooper guy

15 Jul 2018 10:57:16
Grass is always greener ( dare I say that . even hatevthat colour I’m so biggeted ) simply. waggie ran his course . ended up out his depth . good against Falkirk . Ayr ect but struggled against the higher up teams . Barry simply cut a deal with the magic hat when he was here and stalled for a cash cow move to Nottingham. if he had buckled down he would be in Stevie’s plans. Bates the same had some great games but some very very poor ones too. Stevie will sort it son. the future is bright . all these guys are where they should be. all great boys but fell a bit short . fir me anyhow

14 Jul 2018 13:27:56
Can the 2 new boys play in the away leg? I know they never got in on time for the home leg. Or does the registration cover the whole tie?

14 Jul 2018 13:46:17
No weren't registered for round1

14 Jul 2018 17:07:34
Do you not get 2 wildcards though?

14 Jul 2018 18:04:40
You do but they weren't registered in time for round 1 both can play in next round

14 Jul 2018 12:22:18
I don't get why some people are saying it devastating that we didn't tie down Jason Cummings! I get we are in desparate need of a forward or two but sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and it's about his attitude aswell Do we want people at the club that can lose that bit of respect I don't think Gerrard would tolerate it and good as we are trying to get into the mindset of having winners and die trying!

14 Jul 2018 12:16:55
I said on here when we signed Flanagan that he would play left back and was shot down. He is equally as good on the left and is about 4/ 5 levels above John. Flanagan will prove to be one of our best signings and probably best full back in the league. Tavernier was our top performer last season and keeps right back for that reason. Flanagan defends first and will rarely be caught out of position. Relax guys and enjoy the season. It's going to be a cracker!

14 Jul 2018 12:26:22
I believe you will be correct.

14 Jul 2018 12:29:37
4/ 5 is a little harsh. We lacked left footed players on Thursday.

14 Jul 2018 15:04:41
Don't mind Flanagan at left back as long as we have a natural left footer in front of him. If not then we will have no width in the left hand side and most importantly no crosses into the box. Murphy and Flanagan won't work as a partnership so I would give John a shot at playing more advanced.

14 Jul 2018 18:23:28
totally agree if it wasnt for his nonsence liverpool would have gave flannigan a new contract, liverpools loss is our gain the type of player you want in a blue jersey great signing

14 Jul 2018 19:22:39
I noticed this both flanagan and murphy are both right footed.

15 Jul 2018 13:56:53
I would actually play Flannagan on the right side of a back 3 on Tuesday with John and Tavs as wing backs.

14 Jul 2018 11:34:54
I'd play Flanagan at right back giving us a left footer in John at left back. Sell Tavernier because he can't defend and not good enough to command a midfield spot, Windass, Morelos and Fodderingham. Release Wallace, Hererra, Halliday, Hodson and Forrester. We should have signed Cummings. Again we're hearing the be patient shout but we have been for 6 years and running out of the stuff. Play Middleton from the start and buy a decent striker who can actually header a ball.

14 Jul 2018 11:46:55
So you want to get rid of a 22 year old striker who scored 18 goals last season because he's not good enough. Then replace him with another 22 year old striker who is unproven at SPL level and has only performed in the Scottish championship. I'm not saying Cummings wouldn't have been a decent signing but I'm confused about what your criteria for a good striker is?

Agree with the players you want rid of except Tav. Although I'm very surprised he was made captain. Thought he'd be more back up to Flanagan on the right

14 Jul 2018 14:33:22
cummings scored 6 in 18, what kind of return is that. he is worse than useless. hence he is out on loan yet again. he can't play 1 up and that's they way teams play now so forget him, i for one would never be happy to release morelos for cummings. no way would that make sense either in ability or financially

14 Jul 2018 10:04:25
Morning bears. It's been a couple of days since the game and I've watched it back and would like to offer my perspective on things:

I think back to exactly this time last year when we were in the process of being put out of Europe by a team - that in all fairness, Rangers should be beating. It got me thinking: - we had spent the same amount of money on players if not more than we have at this stage of this season and we were not able to win. Fast forward a year and we have a new coaching team in place lead by Stevie G and the majority of us are full of optimism and quite rightly so. He's added to the team, a group of players who will do significantly better than the junk we had last year. It's true that Thursday was not a great performance but yet we won the game and kept a clean sheet which should be enough to take to the away leg and see us qualify for the next round. Point is - we didn't play great but we won the game and that is sometimes needed . had we played like that last year under our previous management (Murty included) we may have struggled.

The journey has just begun bears and I for one think it will be a successful one. Couple more additions to the team and we will be there or there about.

14 Jul 2018 09:45:44
I'm surprised we never set up more preseason friendlies before our qualifier might not have made a big difference but at least a few more games together to prepare.

14 Jul 2018 19:52:10
I would leave it to Stevie me2 if we set up a few friendlys and his forbid say rossiter And mcorrie get injured, 😳l for one would never forgive you my friend

14 Jul 2018 07:47:32
Right lads been a few days now since our first competitive match under Steven gerrard. I’m in costa adeje, couldn’t see the match but from what I’m hearing and reading it wasn’t great. Managed to follow on the live chat on here and got into a spat with a few as some of the posts were imo bang out of order. Are we not prepared to give this new era time and indeed a chance? New management, new players, new system? Some of these guys will never have been to a stadium or full house like that never mind playing in front of them. I understand there were 6 or 7 playing from last season but these guys will also need time to adjust to the changes. I know we need to hit the ground running give me a 2-0 victory in Europe any day of the week. Thoughts lads

14 Jul 2018 08:12:02
I don’t like bashing Rangers fans but by **** some of them are thick, moaning about last nights result. We controlled the game. Scored two, clean sheet, and never looked in danger, IF we had a finisher it could’ve been 5! A great result and a good performance for our first competitive hit out and its European competition. A team with 5/ 6 new players starting including 3 of the back 4 and the keeper. We are still in pre season teams and combinations take time to gel. It’s no FIFA or Football Manager. Give them a break. I’ll judge them in December until then they deserve time and a bit of PATIENCE! 🔴⚪️💙

14 Jul 2018 08:20:54
I suppose you had to see it for yourself sharpshooter. We basically played the same as last season although we definitely looked more solid in defence. In saying that though, the team we played against didn't even look as good as a Junior side - they were very poor and still managed to hit the cross bar and put us under some pressure at corners.

I'm hoping that Sadiq is a deadly finisher because we need one to help and support Morelos, even just to shoulder the responsibility.

Also we need someone in midfield that can put there foot on the ball and control a game of football - maybe coulibaly will be the answer?

Personally the guy Mulumbu from Kilmarnock hasn't signed with anyone yet. We should definitely try and sign him even for a year or two. For me he was the player of the season last year.

In general though in regard to giving someone time. I think Gerrard will get less time than anyone has ever had at Ibrox. We have had to watch terrible football for years and think most fans are fed up. The expectation level is so high that Gerrard simply needs to get it right and soon.

14 Jul 2018 08:21:06
Which begs the question, why persist with Morelos and Windass from last season? A striker should have been the priority. I'm glad the defence looks solid now and we have plenty of midfield players but we need to put games to bed much sooner this season!

14 Jul 2018 09:07:03
Great post sharpshootersPOM. SG and his team will quickly work out that any of last seasons players are simply not good enough if we get any decent money for morelos or windass i would bite their hand off. i still say tav can't defend and should play in advanced role. murphy is the one exception and will do well. Almost a full new team is required and this will take a litte time. SG and co will get it right. he is quickly working out the players who he knows he can rely on and the individuals who have let the club down far too many times in the past

14 Jul 2018 09:08:05
I was at the game on Thursday and it worryingly echoed the European home tie last year. Good control in the first half, missed a few chances and looked like cannot sustain the intensity required over the full game. I think most would agree this was the story of last season. I think there are some good signs and it is always difficult this early in the season.

My biggest concern is that Candeas and Windass do no to have what it takes to play for Rangers and Tavernier was caught out of position on at least 3 occasions. Against better opposition we will be found out. If we are to challenge for the league, these guys are not good enough.

14 Jul 2018 09:53:11
I do agree Morelos and Windass should not be our front 2? The amount of chances last year missed was dreadful and we need another striker in🇬🇧

14 Jul 2018 10:00:23
Apart from looking solid at the back (against who?, ) It was scarily similar to last season. As far as I know hibs haven't paid millions for a striker, & they got the job done first time of asking!
I appreciate there are lots of changes and things will hopefully develop, but show me something Stevie G.

14 Jul 2018 10:23:05
I agree we look solid at the back and totally support mr g and his new backroom team but windass and morellos are as bad as last season and just ain't good enough.

14 Jul 2018 13:07:05
I asked on here couple of weeks ago who else thought we were short of some quality players to win league. I was shot down re candaes, windlass and Morelos.
They need to become bench players, although I do like Morelos.
Also Tav has to defend first and foremost caught out three times at least.

14 Jul 2018 14:21:05
Zikos you obv have no clue about the levels in football. The opposition didn’t look as good as a junior side? Seriously lol. The levels are enormous! Junior teams playing in Scottish cup prove that.
Opposition were set up to frustrate and kept a solid shape. It was our second competitive game and fans need a reality check. I’d take a win and a clean sheet in Europe every day of the week. They will have to come out now and i'd expect us to exploit the spaces and score a few more goals and keep a clean sheet.

14 Jul 2018 15:23:34
Scotty123, That was exactly my point! If schkupi (sorry for the spelling) were to enter the Scottish cup at the same level as some of the junior teams then they would get knocked out pretty quickly.

They say there isn't any easy games in Europe, well that had to be the easiest, and they still hit the crossbar and put us under pressure at corners.

In regard to being well set up. You don't have to be a professional team to be well organised, look at Iceland.

Gerrard should try and arrange some close door matches so he can nail down his best eleven. Watching the game the other night it seemed he was still experimenting.
