In regards to Carlos Pena. Say He starts back training in a few weeks. He is fully sober and rairing to go. His application to training is second to none and from what Gerard sees this guy is the number 10 we need. Stevie g is going to play him no matter what anyone thinks so wether anyone likes it or not he is in the team. Are we going to boo him. I don't think we will . We would love to but we all respect the gaffer .

1.) 02 Jan 2019 15:10:40
who drops out for him then C. f granted i feel especially at ibrox there will be times we won't need 2 holding midfielders like jack and mccrorie but those 2 rossiter probably davis and arfield would be pulling a rangers top on before that man in my book we need a midfielder who split open a defence and also fancys a shot at goal from outside the box am sure everyone remembers penas performance against motherwell in the semi final that tells me that man should never be near our first team ever again.

2.) 02 Jan 2019 15:11:12
Oh give yourself peace man! I love a wee Pena joke as much as the next bear but the guy ain’t the answer and needs taken off the wage bill ASAP! I’m no angel and I’m a firm believer in second chances but you need to draw the line somewhere! We’re a football club striving for success not a charity. From now on there’s no margin for error.

3.) 02 Jan 2019 15:32:24
Stuarty1872 i am not a Pena fan. I am talking hypothetically. i'm just asking what if Gerard sees it differently and wants him playing. Do we give this guy the time of day. i personally think he should be sacked but you can't do that.

4.) 02 Jan 2019 15:49:58
There is no doubt Pena has football ability but half the fans in the stand are physically and more mentally fit to play for us than he is. This is is why he will not play for us again.

Ability without commitment is a waste of talent - this is Pena.

5.) 02 Jan 2019 16:26:54
If SG can get the best out of Pena then he could be a big player for us, I thought he showed glimpses of decent football before he came of the rails, but good luck to him if he has conquered his demons!

6.) 02 Jan 2019 16:53:03
Gerrard said in an interview he is aware of the high earners he's inherited. Pena is not in Gerrards plans, he's not one of his players. He will be loaned out again or sold.

7.) 02 Jan 2019 17:06:22
Hypothetically there is more chance of me impressing Stevie G.

8.) 02 Jan 2019 17:14:41
Hearing there are 4 Turkish clubs interested, I'd happily take him to the airport myself, the wages freed up could allow us to bring in a good young attacking midfielder that would be far better suited than him.

9.) 02 Jan 2019 17:25:29
2 stone overweight and my 88 year old gran could give him a race.

10.) 02 Jan 2019 18:33:27
A turkey destined for Turkey. Fingers crossed.

27 Dec 2018 13:23:28
Is Carlos Pena back training at auchenhowie. I know he was back in Glasgow last week .

C.f. bear

1.) 27 Dec 2018 13:46:46
Unsure but I think he should be given a 2nd chance, could be that creativity we desperately need.

2.) 27 Dec 2018 14:05:56
Sir struth behave yourself guys not fit for gersy a disgrace whom treated the badge with utter contempt. Not to mention he found our game too fast and his second touch was either a diving header or a tackle. time to get rid.

3.) 27 Dec 2018 14:41:01
GREG DOCHERTY should be recalled from his loan spell at Shrewsbury.

4.) 27 Dec 2018 14:59:23
If he’s getting paid by Rangers then we should use him
( if we can ) if he disgraces the shirt then sack him for gross misconduct.

5.) 27 Dec 2018 16:59:10
That's why I'm asking he's in Glasgow. Getting paid by rangers so surely he's not here swanning about and not being asked to report to training .

6.) 27 Dec 2018 17:02:44
I think what pena did was inexcusable but he is a rangers player i say give him a last chance and if no good get him out of there.

7.) 27 Dec 2018 17:15:31
Pena not our player till window opens.

8.) 27 Dec 2018 17:48:00
Cheers jboy that answers my question.

9.) 27 Dec 2018 17:49:01
Am a fanaticicle gers fan but if yous lot want penna bk i gee up the gost n that's wat i call the ones that want him bk yous lot.

10.) 27 Dec 2018 18:41:51
Does anyone know when his contact runs out?
I can’t see anyone being interested in taking him off our hands.
It’s frustrating given that he plays in the position where we are crying out for improvement.
He’s clearly a Bam but you never know they might manage to sort him out.
I would prefer Docherty back as I think he has bags of potential and has done well on his loan.

11.) 27 Dec 2018 19:51:38
Dsgers I'm more intersted in the fact he's here having a jolly up whilst we pay him 20k a week. If he had any interest in Rangers he would be at auchenhowie training his guys out not waiting till end of January. His loan club have chucked him out so he's having a wee holiday whilst the bears pay him big bucks. Get him to **** I say.

12.) 27 Dec 2018 22:24:50
I don't understand why we couldn't sack Pena for way he was behaving. I wouldn't let the waste of space pay in to watch Gers after wiping his nose on our clubs shorts.

13.) 27 Dec 2018 23:17:53
i would agree, surely rangers insist he at least reports in. not much use to us walking about glasgow getting pissed and eating all the pies. whilst we pay for him he owes us to perform and he should be at least training and keeping fit so he can start immediately if needed.

14.) 27 Dec 2018 23:20:19
Pena is probably hanging about an off licence somewhere waiting for it to open. Get him to fook!

15.) 28 Dec 2018 12:44:17
Contract runs to end of next season i think. I would let stevie g and gary mac look him over. Who better to get best from a cm than 2 top class champions league winning cm's.

16.) 28 Dec 2018 19:00:19
Wipe his nose on our crest, should never step foot in ibrox again. Should have been sacked for his exploits while out on loan.

01 Sep 2018 13:04:18
Is Jonathan Johanson still with us in any capacity .

C.f. bear

1.) 01 Sep 2018 13:29:03
I heard he left at the end of the season when Jimmy Nicol left.

2.) 01 Sep 2018 13:59:04
Is he not with Murty and the development squad?

3.) 01 Sep 2018 14:55:30
Think u r right bearmode.

4.) 01 Sep 2018 15:01:21
No he left the club in the summer I’m pretty sure. He was brought in to assist Pedro. There is no slot for him at the acaedemy.

5.) 01 Sep 2018 15:06:28
C. f bear were you watching master chef and seen his Mrs on it to think of him?

6.) 01 Sep 2018 16:57:15
he was commentating the motherwell game and said middleton text him saying if he doesn't get on can he come in early for extra shooting practice. so he is with us.

7.) 01 Sep 2018 17:28:08
Of course he's with us he's the man! Also recommended Pedro to snap up Morelos from Finland Great find!

8.) 01 Sep 2018 19:14:52
Still with us I believe.

9.) 01 Sep 2018 19:16:47
Beatsgowl, I thought that was Lovenkrands.

10.) 01 Sep 2018 20:05:08
That was definitely Lovenkrands not JJ.

11.) 01 Sep 2018 20:49:51
Johansson was the one that recommended Morelos not lovenkrands.

12.) 01 Sep 2018 21:14:52
It was the agent who approached Rangers re Morelos. All Johansson did was give a good opinion.

13.) 01 Sep 2018 22:30:26
He meant that it's Lovenkrands that does the commentary.

14.) 01 Sep 2018 22:30:46
Yes I know that He is Finnish and JJ recommended the top talent from HJK That being Morelos.

15.) 01 Sep 2018 22:42:16
Yes but lovenkrands was the one commentating the other night. Not sure if JJ is still with us.

16.) 01 Sep 2018 22:52:00
lol he means lovenkrands was commentating and that's what middleton txt him
harhun is correct.

17.) 02 Sep 2018 01:35:35
He's not Finnish, he's only 28.

18.) 02 Sep 2018 07:50:14
the new Rangers FC boss has made a complete makeover of his managerial staff and only goalkeeping coach Colin Stewart has survived from last season.

This means that the Ibrox outfit have parted ways with Jonatan Johansson who played such a crucial role last season.

19.) 02 Sep 2018 09:45:46
JJ’s kid was on the same Rangers soccer course as my son a few weeks back right outside of Ibrox- so I’m assuming he’s still involved.

20.) 02 Sep 2018 10:42:29
I love a disagree it doesn’t change the FACT he’s NOT an employee of Rangers.

21.) 02 Sep 2018 17:32:04
Was watching the Rangers 2004,s vs Partick yesterday. Kevin Thompson was taking them. Craig Mulhollans there also. No JJ

Think he departed with Jimmy Nichol.

22.) 03 Sep 2018 15:03:35
JJ was sacked by gerrard when he took over. he had a total clear out. the only one offered a job was murty.

Heard a few times Lafferty plays for hearts for peanuts as they payed off a gambling debt . No idea if it's true but it's why the deal is complicated. Hearts have got him by the balls and rightly so if they bailed him out. As I said no idea if true.

C.f. bear

1.) 16 Aug 2018 18:37:08
My understanding is hearts helped lafferty pay his debt, by managing his wages for him. This came from the player himself when he thanked Ann budge for her help and hearts help.

2.) 16 Aug 2018 21:55:27
Moral of the story don't gamble get help Lafferty.

07 Jun 2018 22:17:35
Tell you what managing to get michael beale from liverpool is a real coupe for us . It's also a big statement he was willing to leave Liverpool to come here and work with Gerrard . very well respected with managers and other coaches .

C.f. bear

1.) 08 Jun 2018 05:37:22
Thats great but we can't have the Liverpool youth team as Rangers first team this season

2.) 08 Jun 2018 10:23:19
Have to agree with Skidney - after that flurry of three half decent signings I'm concerned with the number of Liverpool kids we've not heard of being linked up here. Ejaria is absolutely not one I'm excited by tbh.

3.) 08 Jun 2018 11:47:01
too many sceptical bears on here. true Ejaria is an unknown quantity but everyone is at start of career. give the kid a chance

everyone harps on about his performance for Sunderland not being anything special last season, what do you expect? his first taste of senior level football, playing in a team that were struggling, so low on confidence and full of garbage players. anyone would struggle there

if there's one thing i'm confident in is that SG knows a midfielder when he sees one. Ejaria playing in a team that's ( hopefully ) playing well and winning could be a great player. end of the day Liverpool wouldn't have given him a longer term contract if there wasnt a player in there

lets stop the negativity and get behind the lad and anyone that is lucky enough to pull on our jersey

4.) 08 Jun 2018 11:56:10
"first taste of senior level football, playing in a team that were struggling, so low on confidence and full of garbage players*

So his second taste ain't much better is it?

5.) 08 Jun 2018 14:39:20
jbf - had six years of sh*te - fed up of blind loyalty and not questioning evidently dubious decisions.

We are surely allowed to have opinions? It's one thing to trust your manager, but another to not question anything.

If we get the correct signings in in the next few weeks then why shouldn't we win the league. The opportunity is now realistically there.

Dave king at the game today. Maybe in the country to hand himself in. Last time I saw finance page someone was saying he was getting jailed on the Friday . Lol.

Mr king is a genius.

29 Dec 2018 14:28:50
Outstanding performance by all. Kent streets ahead of Middleton and grezda. Another couple of meaningful signings in the window and we have a great chance of the league.

I've not bad mouthed Gerard once but today the whole copland front new a goal was coming with 30mins to go. Why on earth did he not change it then. Hibs had a back 3 and we did nothing. Apart from McGregor and Morales we are a bang average team and it really is getting worst.

C.f. bear

1.) 26 Dec 2018 18:06:48
That equaliser was coming all day long. Too many players who are just not good enough.
Tav is never captain material, and for his defensive positioning, where do I start?
Candeias is brutal.
Coulibaly can't pass the ball or tackle.
Middleton, as much as I like him, should not be in the first team. I am not slating the boy, but at 18, he's not ready.
As much as we do not want to hear this, Stevie G is a rookie making rookie mistakes. Add this to the fact that half the team are not good enough it could get very depressing unless we add a bit of quality in January.
Do you think Stevie G would be getting it so easy if Celtic hadn't been as poor as they have been? Let's be honest, if any of our previous 3 managers were getting results like we have recently, and Celtic were 12 points plus in front, there would have been uproar in the stands and elsewhere calling for them to be sacked. Just being Stevie G appears to get you extra time and a lot more slack than the rest.

2.) 26 Dec 2018 18:27:08
Your right Stevie G is a rookie manager making rookie mistake, but it’s not his fault Celtic are brutal!
On paper we are 3 points behind with and Old Firm at the weekend! Let’s see how that pans out first.
Also if we had 1 or 2 quality forward thinking players we would have these kind of games wrapped up early doors. Don’t forget January is just around the corner and SG has already stated he needs attacking options.

Yes disappointed, but not the end of the world!

3.) 26 Dec 2018 18:52:25
Who says it was his fault Celtic were brutal? What do you mean by that?
Now, 87 Henderson, I'm going to make this as easy to understand as I can. It's only because Celtic are so brutal that we are still in the running, however, if we continue to drop so many points, and they get their act together, then it won't be long until they are out of sight.
FFS, if we can't beat Hibs or Aberdeen at home, what chance have we against Celtic? What evidence have you seen, or saw, in previous games against them that we have any chance? Blind loyalty is all you have.

4.) 26 Dec 2018 18:58:30
that was poor today - no dig no drive no energy - agreed a hibs goal was on the cards most of the 2bd half - why did it takes another 15 2nd half minutes to decide goldson was struggling? - once again taking corners proved troublesome to us- not their defence- middleton should be used as an impact player - don't think he's ready for the starting 11 - wish i had some positives from today - thank god morelos scored - come on gers! we're better than this!

5.) 26 Dec 2018 21:31:59
SLK, Well at least I have loyalty! Your seem more in what they are doing! Who cares about them? I don’t!
No one remembers how good or bad teams were, the record books will say we won 55 so we can be as bad or as good as anyone as long as we finish top!
I care about us winning games! 1-0 or 12-0 I don’t care as long as we get the result!
I’ve seen enough shocks in old firm games to know anything can happen, Especially this season when both teams are unpredictable. Nice to know your heading to Ibrox with optimism.
I’ll tell you what I’ve never done though, admit defeat before a ball is kicked.

6.) 26 Dec 2018 22:12:15
Haha! We're not winning the games 1-0 you rocket. We're not getting the results. when was the last old firm shock? Again, blind loyalty.

7.) 27 Dec 2018 04:32:25
Think it’s better supporters with blind loyalty than ones that just come out in fair weather. no one said it was going to be easy. in fact the opposite. what slk you expect Stevie g to come in and turn it around after half a season? Treadin over a manager that has had multiple champ league revenue just like that? Get a grip son and show a little bottle. stayin power and loyalty.

8.) 28 Dec 2018 11:23:07
Fairweather? Brilliant! So, you're not a true supporter if you criticize the team? What a load of rubbish. I, like many others, spend a fortune following my team on season tickets and merchandise. If, and when I feel it is merited, I will criticsize the team. If we can't beat Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Dundee, Livingston, Hibs then I, and anyone else, have the right to vent our frustrations. If you read my posts, and I have made a point of making them as easy as I can for people like yourself to understand, it's not all about beating Celtic it's more about the crap results against teams we should be beating. Out with Celtic, we spend millions more on our team and the results are just not good enough.

23 Dec 2018 15:04:30
Depending on how katic has reacted and form suffered from being dropped I'm looking at Macaulay and katic been our two centre halves . Worrall needs to drop out the picture completely and goldson is getting more and more of a bomb scare who needs dropped .

C.f. bear

1.) 23 Dec 2018 15:49:37
Katic was dropped because of injury and never regained form. My big puzzle is Jordan Rossiter. ? Give the boy a chance Stevo . he’s got it in him . really missed Arfield and jack . lot of injuries now.

2.) 23 Dec 2018 16:43:59
Mols you are right there. . There is no way a fully fit rossiter should be sitting on a bench watching halliday and mcrorie playing in his position.

3.) 23 Dec 2018 17:02:40
C. f. bear, Rossiter hasn’t kicked a ball for us in 3 years and should be moved on. He has been unlucky with injury but this will continue right through his career 🇬🇧.

4.) 23 Dec 2018 17:18:32
Mccrorie was fine, does the dirty work. Also please to se him have a couple of digs.

5.) 23 Dec 2018 17:39:36
The reason goldson is struggling is because week in week out he's got a different partner, how then can there be any understanding, the most important thing in a team is an understanding between the two central defenders and the goalkeeper, if that keeps changing we will struggle in defense, Ps worral is rubbish.

6.) 23 Dec 2018 18:22:18
That might be true to an extent about goldson but he's making errors that are nothing to do with who's playing at centre back with him. From Kiernan and Wilson to Martin and Bates now to this season I've never known a team struggle so much with high bouncing balls.
