As much as I think McGregor had been excellent he has really frustrated and angered me this season with his completely unnecessary kicks and elbows etc. He's far too good and experienced to be doing things like that. Tonight's was the worst of the lot and I can't argue against him getting a ban.
We may have been the victim of poor red card decisions but the sheer number of times our players have gotten involved or started incidents is alarming. I'm all for us being fired up but there's a line that we've crossed too many times. I don't think an appeal for morelos will be forthcoming either.

Can they ban him tho? As the ref clearly saw the incident and decided not to do anything. Very silly man if you ask me he is 37 and has years of experience behind him. He should be setting examples rather than what he did. Still buzzing from a great win. Onto Saturday now, think Killie have had their moment, time to extract some revenge.

I agree he didn’t have any need to do it as he had complete control of the ball.
What annoys me though is that the media will try and get him banned because he plays for us.
Look at the BBC highlights of the game last night they have added this incident but not included Ferguson’s where he leaves the studs on MacGregor.
Gordon did this a season or two ago and Brown did it in the last old firm but the media said nothing.
I agree 100% that he’s stupid doing it but as the very upset And bitter Steve Clarke says there must be consistency and there is not and especially not in the media coverage.
I fully expect Sutton, Hartson, Stewart, Walker, McLeod etc etc to be pushing this as hard as they can through their
Mhedia jobs to try and get him banned.

Shagger has always been like that, with the fly wee kickouts at anyone running into him. he will never change as much as he is a great keeper i don't see him giving up on that part of his skills.

morelos seem to be getting a hard time tonight on here with regards to his red card. on first viewing it looked like morelos never done much wrong he dangled his foot as there was a player underneath him on the floor there was no stamp towards the player.
Morelos will never stop getting himself in this situation as he loves the physical side of the game so will be involved in flash points sometimes if he was to stop all that he wouldn't be the same player
For me he was hard done by on this one should not have been red.

Firstly i absolutely rate and think the world of alfredo morelos. But as far as i'm concerned he did deserve to be sent off and here's my take on the incident with mckenna. Although it wasn't a stamping motion by morelos, he quite clearly makes sure he connects with the bottom of his boot, onto the upper thigh of mckenna. There was no need for him to carry out that motion and if morelos stayed on the pitch i do believe we'd have won with a bit more to spare! He's a superb striker and very important to our team! He has to stop this craziness, by getting involved in things he doesn't need to do! He was giving their defenders a helluva time, up until his stupid sending off! He also feigned he was hit on the face, when quite clearly he wasn't and was actually looking while on the ground, to see what the ref was doing after the original incident. He needs to get that out his game, without taking his physical edge away! Good luck with that one, steven gerrard!

Agree Supercoop, thought he was excellent last night until he lost his discipline and self control with McKenna. We should all this morning be talking about his 2 goals, the second of which was up there with the best. Instead we are all talking about the sending off. Great victory though.

Finty - he was very clever, praise morelos but then ensured he made a statement on the red card should stand. He knows morelos out for 3 games will hurt us and give them an opportunity to close the gap. Calculated.

Morelos what is it going to take for this boy to stay on the park against the sheep man. It was debatable if he meant to leave his leg in the mix his reputation has gone before him unfortunately, it's a headache and I will be interesting to see what SG does with him going forward.
We lost it when he got red card it was like we had 2 men sent off such was the impact. But what can u say about defoe. done nothing when he come on but showed his total class for that goal right there that is what he brings one sniff at goal and its in the net. i can see him scoring double figures before the seasons out.
And Steve Davis clearly is not reaching the heights thst SG wants as he never got on when Arfield got taken off and that will tell U all u need to know.

Tbh i was disappointed in Ferguson's reaction given his connection with us. Though McGregor's boot was high and it was a stupid thing to do, it caught Ferguson square on the shin pad. Didn't warrant the rolling around. Summing up, we didn't play that well while they were probably as good as we could be and ww still won. That's a good indicator as to where we are right now.

I agree with you Blue nose. Although i hate the sheep and anyone who wears their red rag on their backs, i also thought that graeme shinnie was superb for them and dominated the midfield for them, especially when morelos got sent off! I didn't think mccrorie and arfield were particularly good for us tonight! Ryan jack was the pick of those 3,but shinnie for me was the dominant midfielder, on tonights showing!

I've always said on here, that ryan jack is our unsung hero at times and would always have a starting berth,
in our midfield! He's came on leaps and bounds under stevie G. He does all the hard, physical, dirty work well, in midfield! On the way home from the sheepdome last night, we were talking about the game obviously and we all were in agreement, that graeme shinnie was superb for them! He dominated in there, especially when morelos was sent off. We then were debating that ryan jack and graeme shinnie are very similar midfielders and who we thought was the better. Have to say lads out of our 14 seater mini bus, it was about half in half, to who we thought was the better midfielder, of the two. For me personally, i think ryan jack shades it, over shinnie! what's other bears views on this?

Shinnie is not a Rangers target and one or two games where he puts it about against us doesn't make him either an exciting or necessary player for us. He's average, guys, surely you can see that.

Jboy21, our manager, as he has done in the past, shook hands with every oppositiion player, not just Shinnie. It's on of the things that sets Gerrard apart from the herd - he has class. McInnes and his ilk wouldn't do that, they're plebs.

Happy with the team tonight exactly the team I'd have picked with definitely on the bench as a weapon to use if needed later on only part not happy with is Worrell I would have definitely had Katic in there. On another note sky sports on Scottish football is so rubbish starting the program just 15mins before kick off what a joke that is. gutted it's going to them full time soon as bt offer a much better build up with much better presenters and pundits Hallie barber is a shocking presenter knows nothing about Scottish football makes me cringe watching her boyd and commens.

hopefully we start with the same 11 that played c**tic at the giro dome, get the ball down and moving quickly with high intensity, utilise the wide positions and try and stretch them while winning all battles in the middle of the park, depending on the result and how the game is going potentially bring defoe on in the second half to try and kill them off. Love a Rangers v Aberdeen game as my dad is sadly one of them, always a laugh until he spits the dummy out lol.

If our midfield is dominant against aberdeen tonight, we'll win the game,
simple as that. The game as per usual will be won and lost in the midfield battle. I'm very confident that ryan jack will win his individual midfield battle, with a bit to spare, the way he's playing for us,
this season! Jack is the rangers midfield unsung hero at times and is in terrific form. Along with jack, i expect steven davis/ ross mccrorie and scotty arfield, to be dominant in there! Ryan kent is ryan kent and is more than capable of tearing aberdeen apart tonight! I really do fancy us very strongly to beat the sheep tonight! It also has to be tav and candeias together, down our right hand side! Morelos up top central himself also for me.

Let's hope for 3 points tonight guys. When I read all the posts (Well the real rangers mens posts not imposters) I see one trend. We are all looking for a consistent starting 11. Having lived through 9 in a row and you had to wait till the Saturday to know the line up. All 50000 of us knew the line up (pretty much before the match programme. Also when we got to Manchester it was the same team pretty much. Weir and bought at ch all season. Consistent starting 11 consistent team. Let's go.

Aye Tommy you're right. I mind going to a game with my mate and his uncle who was over from Canada one Saturday. His uncle posed the question, 'I wonder who will play? ' Well me and my mate rhymed off the team who ALWAYS played barring injury. And we were spot on, though we did get beaten that day lol.
