Looks like we've managed to shift Pena at last. Reports are saying he's in advanced talks with Polish division 2 team GKS Tychy, but you won't hear it from me because the ed will not publish my posts. Pity.

Just talking to an ex player who strongly believes we dismissed/ freed Pena at end of December hence reason he has not been training.

I read that on record sport and they contacted rangers to see of it was true but tangers were unaware of this. Either pena doing it behind the scenes and he's already free, or we don't want to jeopardise the transfer, or its just a simply a load of rubbish.

Its a mutual termination of his contract, no fee as we believe he breached the contract and he wants to move onto another club. So the contract was terminated on mutual agreement.

Good riddance to Pena, let’s be honest the guy was a waste of space, he took Rangers for a fortune in wages, and gave nothing back, even wiping his nose on the crest, hope he gets over his problems, but I doubt it, Herrera was a different kettle of fish, not the greatest footballer, but at least he was here and trained. That dipstick of a manager cost the club a lot of cash, although he did bring in Morales.

Good to see Pena away, we lost money, but save at least million and a half based on 20 k wages. Some reported he was on 30 k who knows.
Add in saving on Wallace and Herrera if he goes we are better of 55k a week, let's SG improve squad in summer.

What did you make of that Cowdenbeath centre half Deas! What a magnificent talent! Fast, strong and had Defoe in his pocket! He's on loan from Celtic! I think we should persuade our old rivals to sell him to us! This boy is a future Rangers captain! We could maybe turn him into a No10!

McLean would be 7th in line for a game in our midfield 3. He's ponderous, has no real engine, is Mr Average, will soon be 29 and we're not going to sign him.

Young player of the year is an award that means you've got potential and you've just had a good season. Ryan Kent is the current PFA young player of the year, by the way.
Other notable winners include Graeme Payne, Ray Stewart, Scott Crabbe, Robbie Winters and Kevin McNaughton, so it's not exactly a reliable indicator. Me? I quite like Ferguson but unless we lose about 4 midfielders he's not going to get a game for us any time soon, as I'd rate him as being at least a season or two away.
If he's up for spending next year in the reserves while he works to improve, giving up his first team slot at Pittodrie, then I'd take a punt. Right now he'd be behind Davis, Arfield, Jack, Kamara, Aribo and, by the looks of him, Zungu.
There are far better players out there than this boy, but some seem to want him because of his family tree, others because he's 'Scoattish', but the simple truth is he's not Uncle Barry by a million miles.

We can speculate all we want but a player is worth what someone is prepared to pay. Kent is a big asset in the lucrative English market because of his nationality, while Barisic and Morelos probably hold wider appeal, in Spain for instance or even Germany in the case of Borna. Kamara is another player with wider appeal and is highly thought of on the continent because of his technical ability. As well as that, Aribo, Helander, Katic and one or two others might attract attention. We really do have a valuable squad right now, and it would not be a problem to raise £20m next year if necessary. At the end of this season maybe two of our bigger players will go, probably Kent and Morelos.

Liverpool will not consider Gerrard for the manager's job until he has at least some Champions League experience. There is no sentiment at the very top of football or any other business and after Klopp they will look for that sort of experience again. Gerrard could be at least one job away from Anfield, possibly with a foreign club.

You're correct to a certain extent, BMHG01. However, sub-editing is a dying trade and subs are being dumped all through the industry. Many 'articles' like the one above are now processed 'straight to page' after a quick eyeball from the desk editor. The checks and balances, especially on social media pages, are almost a thing of the past.

He has many, many miles to go before he can be considered as being in the same league as Davis. He merely showed half a game of decent passing against absentee opposition, so maybe we should show some caution before making such animated judgements.
