Anybody heard anything on Devante Cole? There was an article that's now deleted saying will rangers regret not signing Devante Cole?

01 Feb 2018 21:10:48
Time will only tell if it turns out to be a regret not signing him.

01 Feb 2018 22:59:28
An HITC article. Nothing they post is worth reading

02 Feb 2018 02:37:21
Don’t know what all the commotion is with Cole!

02 Feb 2018 10:39:20
Ah gon4 55 your a bit of a rattlesnake with that reply - hope you don't have a lost weekend or end up heartbroken :)

Review Of The Day 1st February 2018

01 Feb 2018 10:56:20
{Ed's Note - we have posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 1st February 2018

01 Feb 2018 10:01:56
What with it being transfer deadline day yesterday, Rangers on Sky tv and bids coming in (or not) for Rangers players, the tims must have been happier than pigs in rubbish as there would have been lots of things for them to talk about on their favourite subject. Rangers!

Their facination with us knows no bounds. I actually think some of them attend our games? Maybe they want to know how it feels to support the biggest, most succesfull club in the country!

01 Feb 2018 13:10:12
Kris commons on drugs kranjar halliday Hodson and Herrera should never get game again no matter who we playing surely young guys at club would do better job . these players have had plenty chances and are complete failures worst game I have watched for a while apart from windass goals

01 Feb 2018 14:19:15
Remember statement often attributed to Alan Hansen “you don’t win anything with kids”. More than a bit of truth in that. However I also remember someone saying “if you are good enough you are old enough”. Like most things in life we need a balance and must say that Murty’s 6 signings in January have given the squad a much stronger feel. Nico played well last night but we all know he is off at the end of the season. Halliday, Herriera and Hodson are all squad players and backup now for remainder of the season. We won convincingly if unspectacularly last night against a team of plumbers and tradesmen. The last time we faced that challenge we were embarrassingly eliminated from Europe. Feels good to be a her again.

01 Feb 2018 14:48:29
Feels good to be a her again? What you get up to in your own time is up to you. 😉

01 Feb 2018 15:05:06
Bankie you had a wee change there fella lol

01 Feb 2018 16:08:34
Sorry lads you got me there!

01 Feb 2018 17:41:35
Class of 92. Not saying we have anywhere near that quality in our youth team. But it shows a mix of good experience and quality youth can work.

Plus we were playing one of the worst teams in Scotland. We could have played a couple of laddies over deadwood?

01 Feb 2018 21:02:45
I think windass and tav will be subject of interest, if maintain the standard there are at now in the summer. Championship clubs will come sniffing. Hopefully clear out in summer and get rid of players like dodoo, Niko, herrara, halliday, hodson etc.

01 Feb 2018 21:09:49
I would like to see us try and at least integrate two from the youth squad into the first team every season. I just wish we went with more youth when we were coming back up the leagues. We could have had at least 6 or 7 McCrorie's by now👍

02 Feb 2018 02:21:53
How did Cummings do last game? i watched the 1st half and he done nothing!

02 Feb 2018 02:27:59
think commons is worrying about how good we are getting and wants to confuse murty but murty was happy with the guy that scored a hat-trick and rightly so not enough class shown from the players and I doubt murty will play halliday or niko or hodson as these players looked at their level playing against highland league teams
niko was the best of the affore mentioned

02 Feb 2018 08:36:33
I know this January transfer is over. Just been looking at Bundesliga games and Nigel de Jongs name came up. He's just moved to Mainz from Galatesery, contracted till June 2018.
Nicknamed the "Enforcer" plays as a defensive midfielder. Not sure on his salary at Mainz but was on $500,000 in 2016 in the MLS which equates to roughly £6,700 a week. I know he's 33 years old and no resale value but he's the tough tackling type of player we need in our team. Thoughts from fellow bears on him coming to rangers for 1 possibley 2 seasons.

01 Feb 2018 09:47:27
Docherty before Halliday every day of the week.

Obviously we need to give him a chance after coming back, hope he comes good but I can't see it.

Did anybody else think he was absolutely woeful last night?

01 Feb 2018 10:01:49
Agree with you bearmode, the guy is totally woeful, never looked any better than the players he was playing against although some people say he is played out of position

01 Feb 2018 10:21:34
I always try to find a positive from every player that pulls on that Rangers jersey, but Halliday and Kranjcar are such a waste of a wage. Thankfully Kranjcar might be on his way out when the MLS transfer window opens in mid February. Halliday on the other hand, just release him from his contract and do both parties a favour.

01 Feb 2018 10:56:11
In complete agreement with you mate. I thought Halliday was terrible. Infact, I actually forgot he was playing at times. I thought Jason Holt was a stand out in the middle of the park and carried him

01 Feb 2018 11:08:12
Last night was pretty grim to watch but let’s face it. Was practically our 2nd team that was playing on a shocking pitch and we are through to the next round. All that matters lads 👍🏻🇬🇧

01 Feb 2018 11:25:15
commons thought kranjcar was brilliant last night, what planet is he on, must have been drunk

01 Feb 2018 11:42:46
Yeah he was pretty poor last night, wasn’t a great game to be fair. Got the job done tho. Think he’s going to be well down the pecking order now! Only he can change that and show us he can play for the jersey

01 Feb 2018 11:44:24
Some of his touches (not all mind u) were decent. U can tell he can still read a game. His legs just don’t have it now.

01 Feb 2018 12:12:28
His first touch was either a bad touch back towards our own goal or a tackle. Horrendous.

01 Feb 2018 13:19:21
How can you watch last nights game and complain about Kranjar and Halliday in the same sentence? Kranjar was involved in all three goals and had some delightful touches, Halliday is shocking he was only involved in give away possession. Kranjar has knackered knees and no pace yet he still created more in 90 minutes that Halliday has in a season.

01 Feb 2018 18:39:03
Bottom line Halliday is awful and shouldn’t have been brought back, Krancjar isn’t the answer in the SPFL, Herrera offers nothing and is a waste of a space on the bench. Bates defends well but distribution is shocking

02 Feb 2018 02:11:30
I thought when I seen Halliday in team last nite that surely this was game for him to show something but no he was just his usual self, Garbage.

02 Feb 2018 02:28:37
I can't understand what manager sees in Halliday. He must show up well in training. Looks knackered gets caught in possession there must be a better player than him in under 19s surely.

01 Feb 2018 09:26:36
2nd window in a row we have spent more than the mhanks is this why rayman99 bhampot and there wee band of Celtic-rangers supporters not been here for a while the tide is turning keep beliving all will end well going to predict Cummings to score 2 against them next old firm and also them to drop points over the next 2 games a loss and a draw the Chelsea kid is going to wonder what hit him in the first few games and dumbella is raging he's still there he will now run down his contract and leave on a free or on the cheap to league1.

01 Feb 2018 09:30:27
They spent over £2.3m. We spent about 650k.

01 Feb 2018 09:56:50
Elbuffalo i think u will find they have spent more than us.
we just need make sure we keep morelos till the end of the season as the lad is crucial to closing the gap i no we have cummings but morelos offers more with his strengh up top linking the play and bringing others into the game now

01 Feb 2018 12:41:31
Niko got two assists and Andy Halliday was the defensive part of a midfield that kept a clean sheet what more do you want? Remember spurs were held 1-1 to non league newport county so these games are not always the walkovers they seam on paper. For "fans" to come on and criticise individuals after a 3-0 VICTORY is incredible.

01 Feb 2018 14:02:32
Jyf it was a below par performance against a team we should be putting at least 6 or 7 past even if we were playing them on a public park. It was an opportunity for those who are on the fringes to show what they can do and they failed to take that opportunity. A clean sheet is fully expected against teams of this nature. I said on here weeks back that Halliday deserved a clean slate under Murty but I'm afraid he will never be of the standard we require.

01 Feb 2018 18:24:21
So calvin your only real complaint is that we didn't win 6 or 7 nil Halliday done his job as did Niko and by the reasoning on here Cumminings should be dropped because he never done his job against plumbers etc. We won 3-0 as a TEAM, the defence kept a clean sheet and the attack scored three I will ask again what more do you want?

01 Feb 2018 18:42:41
Jyf

Did you watch the game? Did you not see how many times Halliday either gave the ball away or was caught in possession? He clearly isn’t good enough and although it didn’t cost us last night do you honestly think he would get away with that against the teams in the league?

01 Feb 2018 19:39:06
We won comfortably last night lads

01 Feb 2018 21:17:22
I understand what your saying. A win is a win and clean sheet is a clean sheet but a performance like that as a whole where there was too many under performers against stronger opposition would most likely end up in defeat. I understand it wasn't our strongest 11 but you also have to remember that the players who under performed are expected to step in when we have injuries and suspensions and most weren't good enough. But we are in the next round which is always the most important thing.

01 Feb 2018 23:01:30
Firstly I'm not trying to start an argument! ✌️Nor am I trying to defend Niko, Halliday, or Hodson, etc. I just think it's a little unfair comparing that game to playing stronger opposition. As others have said the standard and size of that pitch on top of the weather conditions are a big leveller and these games away from home are always trickier than they look on paper.

Had we put out that 11 against Fraserburgh at Ibrox I would be fully expecting to win by 6 or 7 or even more and in that scenario had we performed as badly I would be in complete agreement. As Bankie points out Cummings didn't exactly cover himself in glory, should we be writing him off too?

It was an opportunity for some, none of whom grasped it, but Niko will be gone by summer at the latest and several others are sure to follow, but short of certain players heading to the U.S. (or China! ) this is the squad we will have till the end of season.

Hopefully by which time there will be evidence of further investment. So in the meantime let's get behind them and ignore our detractors. As you rightly say the most important thing was getting through to the next round, with a clean sheet and no more injuries being added bonuses.

Keep Believing!

02 Feb 2018 02:19:22
Cummings never scored against Fraserburgh, what makes you think he will score 2 against Celtic?

02 Feb 2018 02:32:42
i think the point the guys are making Jyf is that we won 3-0 in spite of Hallidays performance not because of it. Same way we were unlucky not to win away at that lots place on the 30th, but everyone could see Niko was honking despite the good result

02 Feb 2018 06:52:57
No not everyone snell

01 Feb 2018 07:05:57
Can we not offer Herrera to teams from China and USA on loan with view to buy and promote Dallas and Rudden to compete with Miller when he's back

01 Feb 2018 10:21:19
I think the problem with that mate is, if they loan him first they will realise how mince he is and no buy him!

01 Feb 2018 10:23:08
Herrera will be gone in the summer I reckon. He is reaching that age where he wants to be playing consistently to get international caps, he just won't get that at Rangers with Cummings, Morelos and Miller when he is fit. Christ, I would even play Dodoo before I played Herrera.

01 Feb 2018 11:10:49
Nice guy, great attitude and even tho he’s not really had a chance bar a few sub appearances he doesn’t seem up to it I’m afraid. Would be nice to be proved wrong but can’t see it

01 Feb 2018 14:26:17
In 15 minutes last night Dodoo did as much as Cummings offered for the 75 minutes he was on.

02 Feb 2018 02:13:31
Herrera and international caps in same sentence, lol.

02 Feb 2018 08:27:52
9 caps since 2015 isn't a bad run. He certainly won't be included in the Mexico squad with a mere 1 goal against Ross County. He is a big lad though, Trump might hire him to help build the wall.

01 Feb 2018 07:01:05
Hopefully we can still get Niko of the wage bill as USA market still being open.

01 Feb 2018 10:25:57
I heard from family over in the States that the Colorado Rapids and Atlanta United have apparently been interested in him. We can only hope that is true and they take him off our hands.

01 Feb 2018 06:57:27
According to transfer market McBurnie is out of contract in the summer. Hopefully we can get him signed on pre contract with it only costing development fee. Think we have missed a trick with not getting Roberts and Cole also on pre contract but they ships have sailed. onwards and upwards

01 Feb 2018 10:28:01
I read that he decided to go to Barnsley because he needed game time, if he thinks we can't offer that with having Cummings, Morelos and Herrera then I can't see him signing with us. We can only hope Herrera gets punted in the summer and some Chinese diddy team pay us top dollar for Morelos because I reckon and Cummings-McBurnie striking partnership could cause some damage in the SPL.

01 Feb 2018 10:43:53
Why this big thing for McBurnie has he scored any goals at all for Swansea or any teams he has been loaned out to, I don't see what all the excitement is about, is it just because he says he is a Rangers Supporter, you have to base it on goals scored not who you support.

01 Feb 2018 11:13:21
Pretty sure transfer markt is wrong about his contract though JohnGreig78. Firstly his wiki page (which I know is not always reliable) has him contracted till 2019, but the give away was him tweeting after going to Barnsley that he was sure he'll be returning to club still in the PL. alluding to Swansea staying up

01 Feb 2018 11:55:19
BigMarv - McBurnie is decent on FIFA 18, isn't that all that matters? haha

01 Feb 2018 15:22:02
I realise I have been blowing his trumpet more than anyone, as it happens BigYin93 I don't play FIFA 18, nor any other computer games for that matter. I sound like a broken record but people keep asking the same questions over and over again, biglach62 you're clearly looking at his senior stats alone, playing for teams that do not dominate matches nor create many opportunities. I think we can all agree the EPL has some of the best young players on the planet. He was top scorer and player of the year in the EPL u23s last year for a team that won its division (i. e. was dominant) . He's scored 34 goals in 36 games for Swansea u23s, he is only 21 yrs old, and he is a targetman which Herrera is failing to provide. Even if he was a Tim I would still take him as he would offer something we don't have. One of the major criticisms of Morelos is his heading, something McBurnie is good at, and we have several good crossers of the ball Candeias, Tav, etc. It doesn't really matter how many of you don't rate him as there are plenty of people who work in football that do. There are not that many Scottish lads of any age that get a chance to play in the EPL. The coaches at Swansea clearly rate him, Scott Gemmil (Scottish u21 coach) rates him, and presumably Murty and Allen must rate him or they would not have made an approach. He's at Barnsley till the end of season now so let's see how he gets on there, he may be one for the future.

02 Feb 2018 02:14:08
Last year he signed a year extension from what i heard the deal was only if morales was going out

02 Feb 2018 02:30:26
Its never been confirmed that Rangers went and made an approach for him though.
