Saw a few murmurs on twitter that apparently Gio has accepted a package and will be gone by tomorrow.

Anyone with contacts hear anything similar?

It's all social media s***e ? BigYin93,as none of us bar them in the boardroom and gio himself knows what is happening from within ?.

2.) 13 Nov 2022 20:27:39
Seen similar tweet but the one I saw (not sure if the same as where you saw it) said there’ll be a press conference tomorrow which seems made up as why would there be a press conference for a manager leaving? They also punt their podcast in the same tweet so can’t see it being from a good source. Time will tell if it’s going to happen would imagine it’ll be tomorrow though.

3.) 13 Nov 2022 20:33:42
Currently as it stands nothing is happening regards to Gio in football that could change in a blink of an eye.

4.) 13 Nov 2022 20:39:56
Heart and hand have already quashed this rumour. People “hearing” means hoping lol.

5.) 13 Nov 2022 22:45:46
Gio confirmed he will be meeting the board. That hasn't happened yet as far as I'm aware, I expect him to be gone this week but that's not based on any information.

6.) 14 Nov 2022 02:10:59
What bull would have leaked today if that was case as they would have to inform journalists to attend said press conference and why would they put themselves in that position.

I have seen a lot of discussion around the next manager, if and when Gio goes. To my surprise, no one has mentioned Jim Goodwin?

He is providing consistency to Aberdeen that they haven't seen in a while, whilst working on a small budget (which we are used to) . I am not saying he is the definite answer, but in terms of understanding the Scottish Football assignment, he gets it.

I'd rather have goodwin or neilson that McInnes or Davidson.

But prefer gio to all of them.

2.) 24 Oct 2022 14:13:10
Small budget? The famous don't do small budgets.

3.) 24 Oct 2022 14:14:23
There could be a slight issue with the fact that Jim is a season ticket holder at Parkhead and he may not be available to manage us when his beloved Celtic are playing at the same time.

4.) 24 Oct 2022 14:58:42
Am I reading this right? Either that or I need to get new Gregory's! A Rangers fan (questionable) has just thrown Jim Goodwin's name into the hat to replace Gio?
With a username of BigYin, you definitely are a comedian. Not a funny one, though!

5.) 24 Oct 2022 16:59:06
I wouldn't want any of the 4 of them TommyGunxxx! But hand on heart and being totally honest imo derek mcinnes is a better manager than the other 3?.

6.) 24 Oct 2022 19:33:05
What about Lennon Bigyin.

There are a few good players that have their contracts running out in Summer 2018 which I think could be useful to Rangers next season -

GK - Anders Lindegaard
RB - Martin Kelly
LM - Scott Arfield
LM - Chris Brunt
CM - Charlie Adam
CAM - James Morrison
CM - James McArthur

Some solid Scottish choices there. We have been lacking International class this season, I reckon a few of these guys could strengthen our squad with ease.

Walker, McLean, Brunt, Naismith and McArthur are all possibilities that would welcome the move. I’ll split opinion here but bringing back Shagger and getting cash for Fod with view to McCrorie/ Kelly being number 1 next few seasons would be a good move. I’d have brought Lafferty back also when we had the chance.

2.) 20 Dec 2017 14:44:45
Totally agree Scotty. Walker and McLean would be welcomed signings I reckon and if we don't attempt to sign them then we have to look at what Mark Allen is actually doing.

Lafferty would have been a great addition instead of Herrera. I know he had his moments when he was here previously but overall he performed well.

If Robbie McCrorie has the same attitude and determination as his brother then we are onto a winner there as well.

3.) 20 Dec 2017 17:22:03
the premier league guys are out of range. we just can't afford them. However I would like to see us pick up the best of the Scottish free transfers in walker, mclean and possibly ali crawford

4.) 20 Dec 2017 17:30:23
Mcarthur is a gers man would take brunt arfield too along with walker mclean as for keeper mcgregor love to see him back but personally would sell fod an give alwick chance along with mccrorie as num 2 also seen cardoso wanted back home too with mark allen comin from 9down south he prob got his eye on 1 or 2 young from there on loan

Not sure how to digest some of that information.

Ryan Porteous, with all his flaws, would be a decent signing as he is quite consistently fit and ready to go, unlike most of our defence.

To even mentioned Neil Lennon's name with the Rangers job is pure blasphemy. The man only won titles when we were either in admin, not in the league, or taking over from Rodgers mid season. Guys a joke.

McInnes and Martindale are both very worrying names too, its clear we have no ambition as a club if these are who were are sounding out.

Would be an interesting signing, but I honestly could never see this happening. His wages will far too high unless Gerrard has managed to work some sort of magic here!

Jim09 I want to believe you, I really do - but where is that money coming from, if not the sale of Morelos?

£3m is a bargain for Arfield, we should be looking at aroung £6m-£7m as the money in down South is astronomical!

I saw this too. Although Barisic and Grezda have failed to live upto expectations this season, I believe next season they will be a vital part of the squad. If having these three gel properly, we could have a great trio on our hands.

Interesting if this is true considering the way Beale seemed to be gushing over the potential of managing Rangers one day!

Wilder would be a decent appointment to be fair. Like another said, Lundstrum mentioned his desire to fight and win everything, he set up his Sheffield Utd team smart and quick, similar to Ange.

Its going to be interesting whoever takes on the job at hand. The only thing we can ask for as fans is someone who has the fight, desire and passion to get the players rallied. I often feel that Gio is too timid and the team require a Walter Smith style roasting.

When Dorran's first joined Rangers and was playing as an attacking midfielder, he really had great qualities. But Pedro ruined him by putting him at CDM. Only 5 minutes on the park at Villareal and he showed he can find that quality pass to put someone through on goal. We need him now, to partner arfield in the CM.
