I know I'm asking for a poll again ED, but i would like to gauge our supporters feelings now, towards steven gerrard as our manager.
Hearing and reading a lot of our supporters now saying gerrard isn't the right man, to be the rangers manager. Certainly not my feelings as i think given time, he will be a good rangers manager! My poll would be do our supporters still think steven gerrard is the correct choice to be the rangers manager?
If not what other managers would they want as our manager? ie. steven gerrard, derek mcinnes, gio van bronckhurst, jack ross, steve clarke, tommy wright, michael o'neill, david wagner, mikel arteta, or another manager? Cheers ED, much appreciated pal!

Rangers Manager Poll

18 Feb 2019 20:16:57
Supercoopereleven, for someone who is behind Gerrard and thinks given time he will be a good Rangers Manager your not half showing your support. can we have a poll please, if he's not good enough, who is? I trust in Gerrard and. who cares. Anyway looks like your scraping the barrel for polls.
Ed can we have a poll". should Supercoopereleven be allowed to request any further polls?

18 Feb 2019 21:42:56
How’s about a poll to see who we could replace YOU SC11 with next season my friend? Any suggestions?

18 Feb 2019 21:45:55
Listen up floyder. I think you'll find that as an avid glasgow rangers supporter of many years and one who actually goes to watch the glasgow rangers EVERYWHERE, i always give my backing to the rangers manager! It was down to the doubting Thomas's, i asked for a poll in the first place.

18 Feb 2019 22:27:04
Gerrard is still the right man I believe. We have had a number of results that have been his fault and a number of results where the players have badly let him down. I just feel that you can't continually change managers all the time, you have to give someone some time to build their own vision.

Admittedly given what could have been 6 to 8 weeks ago, I have been disappointed as I think we really could have challenged this season but I am afraid it's not to be . . . Yet.

Of course Celtic could go on and get a treble treble and ten in a row, which would just be horrendous but, we have to look at the big picture in that we were in the 3rd division while they were making millions, we have struggled and fought to get back to where we should be and that fight is not over, we need to back the manager and the team, after all he hasn't even been here for a whole season.
We all just have to be realistic they have a stronger squad, strength in depth and a lot more money than we do, I think we are just lucky they don't want to spend any.

19 Feb 2019 00:06:33
Supercooper I'm with you horse. I'm right behind the manager, because my team and those who lead it, are my team. However, this is starting to smack of a magic hat tenure. Anyhoo time will tell. Mon The Bears.

19 Feb 2019 00:57:17
I think the good definitely outweighs the bad as far as Stevie being our manager goes. The bad being too many changes of system and personnel, though to be fair to him, he has brought in and shipped out so many players and most of his team line ups have had to be made due to injuries, suspensions etc. On the plus side he gets what being our manager is, his reputation has and will continue to attract better players, and he has got that monkey off our backs with a brilliant resilt and performance against the mhanky mhob on Dec 29th. I think a clear second place finish was the best we could have hoped for at the start of the season. I'm still not conceding this league is over and not by a long way. It is a big ask now given the results at the weekend but stranger things have happened.

19 Feb 2019 05:36:38
This poll was actually quite good, as more often than not people will post about negative things when they are bothered by them.

So its good to see that SG has a majority out of so many other choices in the poll and that probably includes a few non gers fans voting to stir things up lol.

19 Feb 2019 14:16:34
I think certain bears calling for SGs head after less than season is a disgrace. Seems to me most bears are with him but there are some who want to lump him with breadman. We knew what we were getting and it's going to take him a while to iron out issues. As I keep saying let's wait and see before and if we start calling for his head.

18 Feb 2019 19:04:49
Let me begin by saying i'm totally behind and 100% believe in our manager steven gerrard.
Having said that of course when you're the manager of a football institution, the size of ours, the honeymoon period does only last for so long. I honestly do believe if we don't beat kilmarnock, in the replay at ibrox on wednesday, some of our supporters will be totally on gerrard's back and have the knives out for him. These supporters will turn, if we don't win, this game on wednesday, which is now becoming a season defining game! For me, I back the manager and his management team to the hilt and believe strongly in him.
If we're patient and give him time in his rebuild of rangers, i truly think we will reap the rewards, of having steven gerrard, as our manager. I truly think he'll take us to where we want to be, within his 4 year contract with us. Remember fellow bears, he's only had 2 transfer windows to date! What i strongly feel gerrard must do, is find his best 11 and play them continually, until either injured or a 4 or 5 game bad run of form. He has to stop the continual chopping and changing, to gain continuity, IMO! Gerrard is learning as a manager aswell, we have to remember. No use chopping and changing manager's and a big cull of players all the time! We have to be patient and give gerrard time and i truly think, it will be all good in the end. "LETS GO"!

18 Feb 2019 19:34:40
Agree Super cooper but he needs to coach these midfielders how it's done. Look at the improvement in Callum McGregor for example under the great unwashed regime. He must also look at Grezda Dorrans etc and wonder how to solve that scenario.

18 Feb 2019 19:35:17
Spot on post i just hope gerrard learns from these mistakes and we can have a clear out of the squad in the summer as it is really needed we have to many squad players just now at the club or on loan
This would then allow us to free money up to buy quality players and support them with our younger players as squad players.
I am not in favour of the loan market and do not want to see this many loan players at the club again use our youngsters instead.

18 Feb 2019 20:11:27
Spot on Coop! 🇬🇧.

18 Feb 2019 20:29:11
He's had 2 transfer windows and totally made a mess of the January one. I thought Davis would have been rusty but honestly didn't think he'd be so bad, completely slows us down and the system that Gerard plays to try and fit him in clearly doesn't work. Hate to say it, but look across the city, they added pace with Burke, Wheah, and the ivory Coast striker and we've slowed our team down. Davis has to go back after the 6 months and if Defoe stays he needs a partner, can't play the lone striker.

18 Feb 2019 21:40:03
Agree. SG has to stop tinkering so much. That's my main criticism. I don't think we have the depth of quality to do so.

He is the man to lead us forward.

18 Feb 2019 21:56:50
Do you truly think that aye?

18 Feb 2019 22:33:57
Yeah January was not good, I actually think Shankland would have been a better option, cheap no risk signing. While I say that Gerrard hasn't exactly helped Defoe by playing him up front on his own. If he is still going to go 1 up top with Morelos out, surely it should have been Lafferty purely because he can put himself about more.

19 Feb 2019 01:12:47
Great post coops, completely agree. I'm not a fan of bringing back former players tbh and can only think of a couple of times when this has worked out (McGregor and Barry Ferguson) . There is probably more but can't think of them at the moment. To be fair to the manager the Davis loan did make sense but with the lack of game time he has had is making it difficult for him to find his fitness and touch. On the plus side he may still come good. Don't forget he is a quality player who has played regularly at the highest level. I was never a big fan of Lafferty to be honest but i've mentioned before on here that he always tended to hit his best form during the last few months of the season so maybe the best is yet to come from him. I've a feeling that there may well be a few twusts and turns still to come yet. Remember there are still 2 OF games to come.

18 Feb 2019 17:22:13
Really good interview with Stewart Robertson on club website. He does not miss the BBC! Also hits out at disciplinary process and compliance officer.

18 Feb 2019 18:06:35
He was very cool and calm and gave it to the bbc big time thoroughly enjoyed listening to him can't wait to hear the bulls*** reply from the bbc no doubt blaming us for the fallout 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

18 Feb 2019 18:56:10
Just saw Scott Browns assault on the news this evening, will the compliance officer be asked to review that? I sent an email to info@SFA last week to see if they could point me in the right direction of where I could find the rules regarding the compliance officers review procedure. With particular reference to who brings the incident for review to her attention as there seems to be substantial evidence of incidents worse than those punished that are not reviewed. Needless to say I have had no response despite forwarding the unanswered email on a few occasions. The silence is deafening. glad to hear we have found our voice but we need to take this further. and still we follow on.

18 Feb 2019 11:54:47
I still believe SG will take us to the top again although probably not this season last season at this time we had 3 points less obviously the European run gave us some exciting nights and maybe we're.

18 Feb 2019 13:34:09
so we are 3 points better of than last year and have been throwing points away every other week!
A couple of good nights in Europe, clouded the truth, the majority of those games were poor against poor teams.
Bumped out of the League Cup without a whimper, and Kilmarnock then away to Aberdeen to progress in the Scottish Cup?
Is anyone confident we will get through those games?
One BIG game against Celtic and some of us thought we were finally going somewhere - - what's happened since?
Sorry guys - I am not convinced with at least half the team, the January window was a chance to do something and we signed 2 guys who are obviously past it. I would be struggling to remember us winning 4 games in a row in the league to be honest -which is what we will need now AND the rest even to get 2nd!
I need to go and lie in a darkened room for a wee while.

18 Feb 2019 13:35:17
what have you seen to make you think that?

18 Feb 2019 13:55:53
I remember two years ago Super Ally said that it would take 5 years for Rangers to get back on top, and people give him an awful time, maybe the guy had a point?
Some supporters want miracle’s but the sensible supporters know it’ll take time? And if the board keeps supporting the manager as best they can, Rangers will be back at the top, I’ve no doubt about that, we will laugh last and that’s the sweetest. In Mark Allen in my opinion we have a very professional and hard working guy, who has Rangers at his heart and a young up and coming manager who will learn and do us proud. Hope I haven’t said too much 😝.

18 Feb 2019 16:49:40
totally agree ulsterman, would have loved to win the league this season but didn't expect to win it if i'm honest as long as we stop smeltic getting 9 but definently not 10 then i will be happy with maybe a cup thrown into the bargain.

18 Feb 2019 17:28:38
Sensible talk Queens, I know it sounds strange me coming from NI, but I actually do have friends who are Celtic fans and I want to have the last laugh.

18 Feb 2019 18:53:27
Realistically it was always going to take SG more than season to get us back to top so I'm prepared to give him time as long as he sees short term crap loans is not the answer. Most have bombed but there have been few worked well so it is easy to see he knows what he's doing.

18 Feb 2019 09:05:51
Another disappointing result. The lack of consistency is worrying and the lack of striker cover puzzling. Were Jack and Arfield injured yesterday? What has SG got against Katic? Why didn't Halliday play - he gives everything for the jersey. We've got to to for every game now with only 12 league games left. I watched the unwashed highlights. They were very lucky not to lose let alone win. Broon should have been sent off and his goal was an outrageous deflection. Sometimes the luck goes your way.

18 Feb 2019 11:05:05
Turns out Jack and Arfoeld were injured, Doiger. Tbh we should still have had the quality to overcome a poor St Johnstone side.

18 Feb 2019 11:11:02
Doiger - I would start Halliday at LB. As you say, he wouldn't have accepted that rubbish at the weekend and is more committed to the jersey than Barasic. Also, Katic needs to start playing as Worrall won't be here next season. Do we also need to look at change of formation, cause morelos won't be here next season and Defoe and Laf can't play the lone striker. Lot's of issues to resolve for next season.

18 Feb 2019 11:12:07
Jack and Arfield injured in training. What bugs me is why we play with 2 defensive midfielders v St J at home. It's fine for certain games (Mhanks or in Europe) . We did not need Mccrorie and Kamara both playing. Maybe a 4-1-3-2 formation for teams that sit back a bit. Katic is a mystery - better player than Bombscare Joe and he is a threat for our corners.

18 Feb 2019 11:24:22
I'm getting fed up with gerrard constantly changing / rotating the team, your best 11 always starts unless of course they are injured / suspended. Why pay 2mil for katic to sit him on the bench? That is just a waste! Particularly when katic should be playing! You can't rotate just to keep players happy, if they can't reach the standard to push for a place then show them the door. The cup replay just got even bigger👍.

18 Feb 2019 11:28:47
Jack and arfield both injured in training🤔, seem to be loosing a lot of players to injuries👍.

18 Feb 2019 11:34:41
Should have played Dapo Mebude, couldn’t have done any worse!

18 Feb 2019 12:04:52
Coldco where it say they were injured in training, Arfield was subbed against killie due to injury, he even spoke about it in post match interview, also jack pulled a muscle on that pitch.

18 Feb 2019 13:01:14
Jbhoy21, one of the posters above said it. Scottbrownswain. Take it you missed that👍.

18 Feb 2019 19:19:08
actually i would have played halliday in his natural position and dropped Steve Davis.

18 Feb 2019 21:46:58
I think, unfortunately, Davis isn't going to work out. Certainly not short term.

Everything broke down through him Saturday.

Think Defoe can offer something.

18 Feb 2019 22:45:32
100% find your best 11 play them unless injured or suspended, that Ronny deila made that mistake of constantly changing players for that mob, then Brenda appeared inherited the same squad and all of a sudden they were a different team and that is because he figured out his best 11 . Also I don't see the point in Defoe playing at all if we don't go 2 up top, absolutely pointless in my opinion, I also agree about playing 2 DCM, we shouldn't need that against St Johnstone at Ibrox, get players attacking them, get them under pressure and go and win the game instead of just seeing how it goes.

18 Feb 2019 07:02:23
Keep hearing how good our young players are so it's about time some of them were given a proper chance. Last 5mins at Ibrox when game is over is no use. Davis, Defoe, Macauley not the way we need to be going.
Morelos will be sold in the summer and Kent doubtful to be here so we need to build something. Gerrard signings so far not exactly lighting up the league. Poor mentality when we can't follow up our good results with more consistency. Running out of time to stop them winning 10. They'll be better next season than they are now.

18 Feb 2019 02:15:05
I know Tav has been taking a lot of flak this weekend but here is my point of view. Stevie G persists with playing a back four but wants Tav and Bsrisic to push on as wingbacks.
With Worrall, an accident waiting to happen, in the centre of defence. Sorry, not for me.
Against SJ there was neither press nor pace. Fod slows the game down as do Goldson and Worrall with slow crossfield passes. Stevie G appears to accept it.
We ripped the auld enemy apart with press and pace and that is the minimum we should expect game in game out. We are not playing Man City or Barcelona! . Its the SPL and dross like Saturday is not good enough!
Stevie G has to sort it now. A trophy less season is not acceptable with the backing he has had from the board. Every game from now till May has to be played like the Old Firm game.

18 Feb 2019 08:51:44
Gerrard job is to manage the players choose the team change tactics motivate the players recommend signings.
So why does gerrard see it fit to criticise the players even when the win he comes out says performances ain't good enough.

18 Feb 2019 09:16:19
When we have won games this season i have seen gerrard come out after games and still said it was a bad performance for me this is not right he should be building players confidence not demolition morale.
He is the one in charge of picking tactics and picking the team so when things are not going well results or in game wise why does he not change tactics or make subs eirley instead of leaving it and hoping for the best.
Gerrard is the one in charge but he doesn't seem to be learning from the mistakes he makes and does the same things over and over again and we end up with same poor performances.
It is not just one of games we are poor we are consistently poor in a lot of games and only turning up for a few games a season.
If he is going to keep blaming the players man up and drop the players that are not performing even if it has to be for some of our youth players i bet they would give 100 percent for the jersey.
I do not want gerrard to go but he has got start changing things he does to get the best out of these players or he is going to find himself in trouble.

18 Feb 2019 00:11:46
Can McGregor and morelos play on Wednesday if so has to be mcgregor tav goldson katic holiday mccrorie Middleton candeilas Kent kamara morelos if no fod and laff defoe Davis look slow and past it hope I'm wrong.

18 Feb 2019 06:13:38
Morelos can Mcgregor can’t.

18 Feb 2019 06:32:01
Morelos can play, mcgregor can't mate.

18 Feb 2019 08:35:57
Morelos definitely not sure about greegs.

18 Feb 2019 11:06:56
Not worried at all about Fod. He played well on Sat.

17 Feb 2019 23:40:34
As my post before about corners that must be since (The Hamilton 22+corners game) counting the St Johnstone game 90+ corners with not a sniff of a goal that must be a record, when we get one it’s just a hopeful cross and hope something happens, don’t seem to have any plan, not one short corner or mixing it up, to predictable and away to defend.

18 Feb 2019 14:01:08
Only Katic poses a genuine threat from a corner. Should have held onto the Ginger Ramos.

17 Feb 2019 23:33:59
Why are premier sports not showing the cup replay with Kilmarnock on Wednesday? I'm sure when a cup game goes to a replays the tv station that shows that game always shows the replay as there paying to show that tie always happend in the past?

18 Feb 2019 07:57:26
Due to the champions league broadcasting. the only televised football that can be on is the champions league. I think they had made a rule on it years ago so if champions league is on no other football can be played live on tv.

18 Feb 2019 08:00:01
Think there is a ban on televised games clashing with Champions League, their hands are tied on this. Spain and Italy get round it by playing earlier, I. e. 5:45 kick offs.

18 Feb 2019 08:37:28
Think it's to do with Champions league games EPL are only ones that seem to stick two fingers up to it.
