Who was the better player Bougherra or Cuellar? This one could divide opinion both were brilliant.

Loved both cuellar and bougie but there's not a shred of doubt in my mind that cuellar was the better centre half 👌What a terrific reader of the game and big carlos put out fires before they had practically started! Superb centre half and probably at that time the best rangers centre half since big richard'the lionheart' gough 👌.

Like everyone else loved both but I’ve never seen any centre half have a better game that the game Carlos Cuellar has in the semi final in Florence.
Would have loved to have seen them play both together.

Bougherra for me king carlos was also class tho and probably better all round defender but big bougherra had that something special playing out from back and striding forward way the ball and can see signs of it in balogun good times all round lads.

Easy cuellar was the better player but I prefer big boughie 😂😂had a standout presence about him and someone the fans really took too.

tough call, hard to compare as 2 different styles of CB. Carlos was just a machine and a proper out and out defender whereas Boogie was a ball player with a bit flair. An ideal partnership.

Cuellar was one of the best defenders I have ever seen at Ibrox, silky smooth.

Buzz, I definitely wouldn't say Cuellar was silky smooth, more of a no nonsense defender, like Gough. Both smashing players though.

Without a doubt Cuellar, Bougie was a loose cannon and used to think he was a forward or a winger at times leaving us open at the back but what I think made both these players was having Davie Weir beside them.

The question asks player so I would say Bougie. He could play RB, CB and also probably midfield.
I’m sure I remember a goal where he took the ball from his own half and dribbled through the midfield before scoring.
But like the other posters - if you mean the better CB then Cuellar all day long.
