Morning Bears,
I can't remember the reasons why they left, but I recall having really good defenders in Helander and Katic not that long ago. Would either or both of them improve the current defence in your opinion? There was also Calvin Bassey now plying his trade with Fulham.

Remember watching Katic against arsenal 2 seasons ago in Europe and he was absolutely outstanding. Best player on park that night.
Never wanted him to go, with a pacey partner he’d have been a great player for us.

Katic was rank rotten. Touch and passing was horrendous. And at the time statistically, Goldson won more defensive headers than him.
All rainbows and unicorns because he scored against Celtic.
Helander was an excellent defender but was injury prone - about 30 games in 3 years - and also had a lack of pace.
So no, both wouldn't improve our defence. IMHO.

Agree with MPH katic was awful but helander when fit was really good.

i won plenty the day katic tore them a new one
first goal, last goal, correct score and scorecast
a goodly day that, so i loved the boy, great character and commitment, quality, questionable.

Katic was raw. In and out of team. Looked far better option than joe Worral who went in to captain a EPL team.
If wasn’t for contractual obligation of playing Worral so many games then Katic would’ve started a lot more and progressed faster and better.

Is Helander not broke back in to playing regularly with the national team? Always liked him in defence in European games.

Katic was horrendous. You are correct MPH and John also correct some fans only liked him because he scored against them it’s embarrassing how easy it is for fans to love someone who was nowhere near good enough.

Why on earth would i dislike the boy. i loved him the day he won me a lot of cash. why wouldn't i.
