Heard bit of Andy Halliday yesterday and don't normally listen but just got me thinking, how much are we any better than team he played in. If you made a combined team I'm not sure that many of this squad would get in that team. Recruitment has been shocking. Taken us back years.

That’s a damning verdict on the board for not backing Gerrard when he needed and deserved it.
And damning of the managers brought in since Gerrard left for not improving on the players we had.

we couldn't win a league that was thrown at us, our usual suspects managed to throw it back again. much too hot for them,
hitting a great free kick v St Johnstone doesn't win titles, heart, spirit and balls win titles, sadly lacking on all counts.

Fact is a mixture of quality, experience n youth is needed to challenge for titles.

Kent was a million times better than anything g we have the now and he wasn’t good enough. That’s the sad reality of the summer window.

Gerrard did great obviously but I'm even talking pre Gerrard, maybe a bit extreme but I'm not sure players this season are better than Warburton/ Caxinha/ Murty era. Wallace Miller Waghorn Windass McKay Halliday Holt Jack Candeias Wilson Hill Martin Dorrans and others would be pushing for places.

On his game (I know, I know), Kent was head and shoulders better than anything we have right now. There was a time, during games against them, when he would turn their defence inside out. Who do we have now who can do that, or has done that? I'll save you the hassle, nobody!

Every player knew their job under Gerrard subs included and the fans knew their style of play, Gerrard got time because we had to build a team from nothing really and we all knew it, Clemont has to build a majority of a team over the summer to suit how he wants to play, without injuries a think we would have seen a lot more of what he wanted and gave us a lot more confidence that we are on the right track.

Getting bit carried away with the Kent nonsense here boys - he had few good games against them but quite a few howlers too - if he was that great he would have torn one from the lesser teams in our league which he should have done but didn't do on a very regular basis - also he is hardly setting things on fire in Turkey - so that case needs rested. One of the most overrated and highly paid players to pull on the light blue IMO.
