Forgetting the annoyance of the postponements, what do followers of this site think about the split with 5 games to go? For me, it's embarrassing and should be binned. Talk of dead rubber games I get, but having a team finishing in 7th with more points than the teams on 5th or 6th for example is a joke. Time to get rid.

Not really embarrassing as the team that finishes 7th is playing all the below ranked teams so should collect more points whereas the opposite is true for the team that finishes 6th.
We should still be trying to improve the product though.

I quite like the split and think it is a good idea.

What about the belgian split? Now that's a farce. Teams can win the title who are 30 behind.

It is a joke, time for 2 leagues in Scotland. I'm sure I am in the huge minority when I say 2 games against them, per season, is enough. Possibility of 4 games with cup brought into it. Will never happen, of course, as Sky decides.

I actually like it, the one thing I hate is the mismatch of home and away games, ie you might end up playing a team 3 times away.

League should be bigger with a home and away against all section teams post split.

Scottish football's favourite phrase sporting integrity only seems to count when it comes to rangers.

7th don’t finish above 6th, two leagues at that point. I thought it was stupid but it’s common these days with smaller countries.

Scotland not big enough for 4 leagues. 2 leagues of 20 I’d have, with no relegation or promotion for the first year to encourage attacking play.

18 team league home and away no split. No having a team in a euro position one week then relegation fight the next. Having a mid table to fight for a European place is good if there is no fear of going down. Teams might even try and play football. Young players are more likely to be given a chance and our game would improve. Anyone who says when we had the old first division it went stale, look at the players we prodiced then. Early 70's old firm in finals teams like dunfermline getting runs. Even the success of the early 80's came from yhr league format of the 70's and before when teams would have a go.
Look at the fiasco with the dens park pitch. Worse were played on in the past. Get on with it. If the suits can't bring a format that improves football, earns enough money to get a pitch playable then they shouldn't be drawing a penny from our game. How much football and even experience of simple exercise has MacLennan and doncaster got under their belts? Hee haw! If you had to go for heart surgery had the consultant told you what had to been done, you would say wait i'm going phone the guy who painted hall and see what he thinks. These two know nothing about football or even msking our league better. They simply want to make sure they can draw a wage and pick and choose when and how much their pay rises are.
Do these people solely work for the league or do they have other jobs. MacLennan worked for dermott Desmond amd that was his only need qualification. Does he still work for Desmond. Doncaster the security guard from boots seems unemployable so why are they there. Clubs are run by suits but the fans pay the money amd when these people go we the fans are still there, even if it means your clubs been run into the ground whilst some owner greases his ego f's off and leaves the team at the bottom off the football set up. We've had it done to our club but they've been doing it to the league and our association much longer. We compare ourselves internally in the league but for a lot of us we can remember our league being comparable to a lot of good leagues in europe. If you said to them about us and the top leagues its apples to oranges, but strip it back its mismanagement, lack of ideas and the shutting down of ideas, lack of belief that came from this and employing people that haven't got a clue. Leaders of the leagues and association along with league formats must be voted in through supporters clubs. Nominated by board members from clubs. No one outside of the bubble would have them or the set up we have.

Totally agree Livi, Well said. Would also consider two 20 team leagues with regional based leagues underneath.

Livi, good post mate, I thing 2 leagues of 20 teams is sufficient for Scotland with teams playing one another twice in a season.
