I always find it bemusing when haters hate on Kent, maybe because ojo was supposed to be the better player, who knows. Neil McCann was a great player for us, no one can deny it. McCann 113 games 19 goals. Kent 111 games 25 goals. Facts won't be for everyone, I'm feeling that.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2022 16:47:44
Interesting stats Ace; I'd have thought McCann would have scored way more than that. Food for thought.

10 Jun 2022 16:49:20
Neil McCann wasn't signed as a marquee 7 million pound player though so Kent's should be blowing him out the water.

10 Jun 2022 17:06:02
McCann was pure class. If you look at old footage, he was fast, clever and unselfish. There's no point in comparing the two. He was a joy to watch as is Kent.

10 Jun 2022 17:19:48
To not think that Kent should improve certain aspects of their game is Fanboy infatuation!
£6.5 million ( plus add ons ) gets you in 2021/ 2022:-
2 goals
6 big chances missed ( including the 2 yard sitter that would have won the EL Final ) .
26% crossing accuracy
49% of ground duels won
13 possession lost per game ( average )
Facts aren’t for everyone.
You raging, aye?
Plus McCann at Rangers:-
3 titles
4 SC
2 LC
1 treble
Oh and a SC with Hearts
Ryan Kent
1 title
1 SC
But aye the best £6.5 million we have ever spent
Facts still aren’t for everyone. You even more raging, aye?.

10 Jun 2022 17:19:56
Correct Snell.

10 Jun 2022 17:20:19
Snell not the players fault regarding the transfer fee and how many times do you see a lot cheaper a footballer being a better signing than a more expensive footballer ?
It happens regular so fees don't always mean better mate ?.

10 Jun 2022 17:55:50
Kent averaged 1 goal every 15 games last season. I thot you said last week stats don't matter?

10 Jun 2022 19:00:17
Paul they only matter when it suits him ? it’s embarrassing he had a go at MPH for over a week about stats and then starts posting them ?.

10 Jun 2022 19:00:41
Fees don't always matter I agree Coop but they are still a measure of what is expected of a player. Otherwise why would some players cost more than others?

In not hating on Kent at all, I actually feel he has a tough shift being doubled up on a lot and a quality RW might open more space for him.

However, tally up the cost of our team in fees and he accounts for half of it. Therefore he should carry the burden of responsibility accordingly and deliver the right level of outputs.

10 Jun 2022 19:39:46
Wow I can’t believe McCann didn’t score more. He was a brilliant player for us. Kent is similarly brilliant. Yeah his goals ratio isn’t the best but if he had that he’d be playing for Liverpool or Real Madrid or someone. We should be thankful we have him. One of our hardest working players as well.

10 Jun 2022 19:49:10
Stats don't always tell the story paul but when McCann is considered quality and Kent gets the stick he does but has a much better goals to games then its worth noting for perspective. Whether its a marquee or not is neither here nor there. Haters going to hate.

10 Jun 2022 20:19:10
McCann played with better players, Gio/ Mols/ Arteta/ Ferguson. Kent plays with players like Sakala and Itten.

10 Jun 2022 20:19:39
It definitely does matter if a player cost that level in comparison to his team mates. You can't just disregard that because it doesn't suit your argument. "much better" is a stretch aswell, he has scored in 6% more games than McCann so basically 1 in 20!

10 Jun 2022 20:55:11
No it doesn't snell, how much would McCann be in todays market?

10 Jun 2022 21:03:54
Mph you’ve picked some negative stats there. What percentage of timea does Kent dragging 2 defenders into him create space for chances being created for others? He’s inconsistent but what winger isn’t? Kent is our best wide player by a mile and I’ll say this, no one can do what he does in our team.

10 Jun 2022 22:08:47
To stat or not to stat, that is the question?
Much better?
Kent - a goal every 4.44 games for Rangers though was a terrible 1 in 17 the season just gone ?
McCann - a goal every 5.9 games
Or we could compare him with Sakala?
Sakala - a goal every 4.1 games
Career - a goal every 3.5 games
Kent career - a goal every 7.5 games
Nobody is hating. Just constructive criticism that he should be scoring more goals for a player of his ability.
Take the Fanboy blinkers off.
Or stop making an arse of yourself by using stats that make your argument more foolish ???.

10 Jun 2022 22:10:01
How many times has he been on the park with Itten and Sakala, Bornabear?
What a p. poor opinion that is?‍♂️.

10 Jun 2022 22:51:41
What's that got to do with the price of cheese coldo? My point was about the cost of McCann in relation to the team he played in. So if you inflate his fee to modern day then you inflate all the players playing with him and the % of player cost Vs team remains the same?

10 Jun 2022 23:01:27
Correct AlloaGer?Kent brings so much to our team and the way we play ? It's again some making out football is either black or white, with nothing in-between ? Football isn't like that think about it ?.

11 Jun 2022 06:02:23
For the right money as much as I like him Kent is replaceable. Needs to up his game next season far too inconsistent fellow beas simple as that. ????.

11 Jun 2022 07:25:22
Look at how much we missed him and were crying out for him to come back the season he was injured. Who would you drop him for in our team?

11 Jun 2022 10:11:12
Kent May if he stays be a better performer next season.
He won’t be leaving matches or training, heading straight to England to see his lady. Leaving at 5 in morning and missing start of training on a number of occasions. Imo this must have had an effect on his performance

An in form kent, committed to our club is an asset on the pitch.

11 Jun 2022 11:18:07
@John would be a hell of a faff for him having finally settled his missus, horses, life up here after all that commuting only to then rip it all up and move south permanently. But that is the risk of being a pro footballer these days.

11 Jun 2022 11:20:15
You are missing the point of the debate, AlloaGer.
The question was - Does Kent score enough?
And the facts are it’s a resounding no for someone of his ability.
3 goals last season. Do you think that’s enough for a Rangers player playing up front?
Now you can bring in opinions that he is marked by 2 players, or that he drags defenders here and there or even an irrelevant fact that he has scored more than Neil McCann ( just ) .
But they have no correlation to the fact he should be scoring more.
0.1 of his chances are on target.
If you don’t think he should be trying to improve areas of his game ( like all players should do ) then he isn’t the asset you think he is to the team.
John25 has made a great point that maybe the excess travel last season hindered his consistency?
Fingers crossed he is fully committed to the cause and signs an extended deal.

11 Jun 2022 13:25:15
I agree RFC.

11 Jun 2022 20:42:48
No one is hating on kent ?‍♂️ everyone knows he is a good player just some people can’t handle there fav getting a bit of criticism which is correct as he needs to score more for a forward player. It’s not just a strikers job to score goals when we win the league we had goals all over last season we didn’t and we lost the league.
