Why he was ever offered it I’ll never know and why he said no I’ll never know maybe knew he was never good enough and if that’s the case fair play to him for being brutally honest with himself and knowing his limits
But Aberdeen have been absolute rank rotten and surprised it never came sooner
he will end up managing some small team way down the leagues Aberdeen will be his biggest club I’m sure of it.

I honestly thought he would be there for many years, , he’s lost his reputation among rangers fans, and he did have a very good rep when he was here, very good player and sourness loved him, so did West Brom, they made him captain, but his recent comments and actions against Rangers have destroyed his goodwill.

I honestly don’t think he’s done a terrible job at Aberdeen. Know they’ve had bad results of late but he loses his best players year on year and replaces them in a shoestring budget! Glad he didn’t come to us but think the Dons support may regret calling for his head!

I think at the time stig he was the only realistic option, the mess we were in you would never have imagined someone of the stature of Gerrard being a realistic option. To be fair to McInnes I thought he done well up there with Aberdeen considering their budget, they regularly finished 2nd even with us in the league, they were in a good few cup finals and let's be honest they were never going to challenge celtic. This season has been difficult for them but I think he took them as far as they could go on their budget. In hindsight though he was never what we needed to succeedðŸ‘.

Yately01,i was told he knocked us back because rangers wanted him only and not his no.2🤔Derek mcinnes was taking the rangers manager's job but wanted his no.2 with him, that rangers didn't want and that's what i was told that he eventually refused to take the job because 🤔.

Also heard the number 2 didn't want to go as he is a tim (can't recall his name) . I can relate to that as I would have had a huge problem going to work for them in any capacity. McInnes wasn't a bad coach but I think he realises his limitations and that the job was too big for him. If he had taken the job he would have been lucky to last the season imo.

Coop, I also heard the same thing about Del Boys number 2. We didn’t want him as number 2 for obvious reasons 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 It was crazy for Del Boy to stay at Aberdeen and not take the Rangers job and he must regret it and will do for the rest of his life.
