Barron is a better player than he gets credit for, he's not the best technical footballer but a decent range of passing and plenty dig about him, something a midfield needs in my opinion.

Not sure I agree folks, I agree with the sentiment but our woes started when we repalced the likes of Jack, Lunny, Davis, Arf, Kamara with players like Barron, he is no more than a squad player. He is tidy and hard working but is not a goal scorer or a defensive wall. In a Rangers midfield you need to hang your hat somewehre and unfortuntaly for Barron he is in nomans land.
Perhaps the prob is we have Dio, Raskin and Barron, all too similar in that they don't create, score or defend 100% on a consitent basis. All opinions though folks so just my take on it.

For me, if this was S. Gs team, Barron would be playing the Jack role in the midfield. He has good energy, gets about the midfield and showed again last night that he has good passing range. He needs to add goals to his game but it took Jack 2 years to get his first Rangers goal.
He was Aberdeens free kick taker which is something he never gets a chance to do and I wonder if he might be someone who could take corners, after all his height is not exactly an asset in the box.

Wslgers Barron took corners a good few times under Martin.

Have to say over the last couple of seasons you have seen an improvement in the technical side of his game and he does the ugly part of the game really well which we need as too many of the squad neglect this side of the game.
